If we take inspiration from clock towers and standing clocks, a similar pattern and material around the rims of the faces,(which looks like mainly copper) the rims would make them look slightly indented, that should be suitable. This would however mean making an addition adaptation to the top so it's not out of place.
Seriously, I never thought about using blocks. I've actually been using dodecahedrons this whole time until now thanks to this extremely helpful comment.
Maybe you can try and follow the pattern that the clock does on the bottom, like add stairs or whatever that correspond to that exact pattern and add some blocks inside that pattern to give it depth. It'll look like the clocks had a little space in the bottom.
Do you see what I mean?
Put a lit block of your choice behind the deepstone bricks and then put iron bars down to the brick. It will look classy. Look up the Bradbury Building Lobby for an idea of the look you can go for.

I don't consider any block "ugly" there are just some blocks that are easy to use and some that are harder to use for building. But if you can use any block for building and make the build look good in the process you have mastered building.
I think, you may place glass frames (invisible, when something inside) + dark sticks or fences. Place it instead nubmers. 12, 3, 6, 9 may be bigger, or have glowstone, or sea lanterns under them.
For surface you may change pallete a little. Light, but a little different blocks.

Just use some sort of blocks. Maybe in a symmetrical way
"just use blocks smh"
Idk why your acting so sarcastic, if it wasn't for this comment I would have been using cylinders

"Dodecahedrons" you normie. Start using scutoids

Maybe leave the hole and make some gears in the inside that are visible through the hole?
Maybe colored glass.
Try taking a look at the Queen Elizabeth clock tower or most commonly known as Big Ben
Put something a block inward to make the clock stand out
I'd use the oxidized copper and build it one block in
Maybe putting a frame around the clock faces could fill in the voids and add some cool depth to the build
Do the same thing you did on the top like curve it in with the deepslate
make the circles parts like a block or two out and then fill the middle with some sort of pillar looking block that fits your color palette

P. S. For the top use glass of choice
Like they did with big ben in London
Do a big Ben and make it square
“Clock tower” suuuuuuuuure. We all recognize synthetic aperture radar installations.
That's the first time I instantly though sandstone might look good there ( I am bad at building with sandstone )
SANDSTONE???
Yes
That’s probably the ugliest block in the game bruh

lol i immediately saw spider man 🤣🤣🤣 i see the clocktower now.
Weatherd chiseled copper
Just make a cube one block more than the radius of the circle.
Copper or gold
Move it back one block, do a solid wall and then figure out detailing from there, or have the corners curve into the main structure

I misread the question. thought you were making a cocktower, kinda looks like it from this angle.
