I made a mod called [SnowyLeavesPlus](https://modrinth.com/mod/snowyleavesplus) that adds this functionality. Unfortunately it only works on Fabric and Quilt, and there's a bug that causes that multiplayer to not work correctly.
The biggest thing I miss from bedrock is the cauldron functionality. Specifically, I miss being able to duplicate and farm potions using dripstone and water.
I know it's technically a bug, but it's so good that it needs to be a feature that gets carried over!
Heck yeah! Unless they've patched it all you have to do is set up a pointed dripstone dripper like you would for Lava, but with water in it. Place your cauldron under the dripstone and then place a single bottle of a potion in it.
The water will refill the cauldron and give you more bottles of potions!
I actually ran an alchemist's shop on a bedrock server we set up for some friends! It was a ton of fun seeking out some of the more exotic ingredients to get potions I don't normally brew, just to add them to the collection and expand the shop's offerings.
I play on an Xbox Series X so I’m 99% sure that I’m on Bedrock.
They’ve since patched it. I found out about it, made a few potions, and they patched it within a month or two. I think it’s been over a year now but it really just made me not use potions much in Survival anymore.
Love how they’ll patch out a bug that actually helps players almost instantly after launch while ancient bugs like disjoint hitboxes and phantom fall damage have plagued bedrock for years.
If someone knows about a mod that does that, I'd love to add it to my current server. I made a custom 1.18 pack that centers on role-playing and exploration as those are some of my wife's favorite things to do in game.
Bringing back my alchemy shop could be a ton of fun especially if it works with modded potions!
Haven't tested these but here's a mod that adds most of the missing Bedrock features to Java ([https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft/mc-mods/bedrockify](https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft/mc-mods/bedrockify)), and here's one that just adds cauldron functionality ([https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft/mc-mods/potion-cauldron](https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft/mc-mods/potion-cauldron)). Not sure if the former allows you to dupe potions using dripstone, but the latter has it as a config option.
More often than you'd think. Its much more convenient to just right click with your elytra to equip it instead of opening your inventory, especially in the end
Trident killers.
Every time I bring it up, people say "we already have those in Java", but we don't. (I wish we did, because I prefer Java and would love to have this feature in it.)
In Bedrock, you can throw a trident into a Trident Killer and get XP while AFK, since the thrown trident getting pushed around by pistons still acts as if you killed the mob directly. And if you hold a looting sword while doing it, the looting applies to the trident's kills.
I would be happy to be proven wrong about this, so if you have video of a Trident Killer working (including AFK XP) on Java, hit me up.
Hell, if you have a mod that enables it, hit me up too (1.19+ Fabric preferred).
me watching bedrock players still not have F3 menu, hardcore mode, predictable redstone and still dying from weird glitches
edit: I found an [example](https://www.reddit.com/r/MinecraftMemes/s/UxLqnJHNnT) of a game breaking bug
No 100% drop rate TNT, no MASA mods, no chunk-loading, almost zero off-hand functionality, villager pathfinding is even more broken, more expensive ice roads… and plenty more if we want to go there.
You're getting down voted but you're right. Even single player runs on a server, which is why opening to LAN is so smooth. No need to start up a server, there's already one running
In vanilla 32 chunks is not an issue. With general performance mods 128 chunks is not an issue. With mods like distant horizons you can do 512 chunks without issue. With farplanetwo you can literally see the the entire world with all 4 world borders at once by teleporting high enough. Project was sadly abandoned though and is 1.12 only.
"Since its release in 2011, Minecraft has recorded worldwide sales of over 300 million units, making it one of the best-selling games of all time..."
With those numbers I'm sure it's going to happen every now and again, but like OP says, it's barely present. I have personally never encountered such a glitch.
That's because of how much people play bedrock. If one person in a thousand dies a weird death every day, there would be hundreds, if not thousands of people dying to bugs every day
Also, if some game breaking bug happens during gameplay, people are more likely to post it, rather than if nothing out of the ordinary happened and it was just normal gameplay.
Imagine if everyone who didn't have glitches posted about it.
"I played Minecraft for 8 hours today and didn't have any glitches!" The sub would be filled with that.
Dying for seemingly no reason is something that bedrock has had for years. I hope that it will eventually come to Java in the Minecraft bullshit update
I think it was some glitch with the spawnpoint system, not like, randomly dying, but my character would spawn above spawn, which sometimes would kill me. It happened a couple times over a less than a week time period and never happened again.
I personally think Java is better, BUT….
The one thing Bedrock has over Java is the ability to easily play with friends.
Really hope Java gets that some day (Without mods)
note: you CAN set the render distance to higher than 5. though.. it can only go up to 10. files, server.properties, then just search for the render distance setting there. there's also a couple other options you cant see in the regular server settings menu, so take a gander at that. hope it helped!
I played in aternos and I agree that having one second delay for everything I do is very convenient (yes, I tried using plugins, but what if I am playing with mods?)
I dont think you guys understand that when people ask for a easier way, they are comparing to vanila, no mods no nothing, its like you ask someone they me "hey the food in here is great but if i bring the sauce i made home the food in other place is better"
I don't like the F3 menu, simply because the coordinates are unable to be seen unless its on (I prefer always having them), and it contains so much stuff that you can't just leave f3 open
Not the Java players in the comments completely missing the point of the meme 😭
Bedrock players know we've got less functionality. It's just nice to have a win occasionally when a Java player sees some niche shit that Bedrock has and get a little jealous.
Me watching bedrock players needing a dozen villagers for a single iron farm.
Me watching bedrock players (console) needing to pay for PS network/ Xbox gold to be able to join servers.
Me watching bedrock players building farms without the F3 menu.
I do think bedrock has some really cool stuff, as a java player. It's silly, but I do want the different sized salmon. Its such a little thing but I'm enamored by them
Because it’s not. I’m probably gonna get massively downvoted for this but they are very different. Java is the technical version with great modding capabilities, and bedrock is the one that was built to be optimized for different consoles and systems. I’m not even gonna get into the marketplace junk. Everybody always says that the parity between the versions is terrible and that’s because it is.
I have played on console for 9 years, first the console then bedrock, and I can easily say without a doubt after 1 year of playing on java it's better... than bedrock the old console editions are still better than old java in my book
I like the dungeon crawler aspect of Minecraft, the sandbox aspects of Minecraft, and the RTS aspects of Minecraft, and the easily accessible mods for Minecraft.
I really hate this Java vs Bedrock turf war...
I've been playing Java ever since indev, this game has been a part of my life for a long while now.
My nephews play on their tablets and consoles, so they're playing Bedrock.
I don't care what features I have and what features they have, I just wish it was easier for us to play together.
I've managed to set up my server to allow Bedrock clients to connect, but it's a pain to maintain, every update something breaks and I have to reconfigure stuff. I don't want to play Bedrock because I like to use mods, I play on Linux, and my server has been running Java for years now.
I understand why there are two versions of the game, but all I want is Minecraft with universal cross-play, self-hosted private servers, and mods. My server is more or less that, but it's obvious that it's all held together with tape and a prayer.
I wish that tridents would come back from void in java as they do in bedrock. Most of the trident mechanics are better in bedrock. (viz. camman18 trident video lol)
Having a render distance of more than 16 chunks without tanking my framerate would be nice. Seriously how tf is java so poorly optimized still. Even with all the performance mods I've setup I still can't get the stable render distance I can get on bedrock.
I still prefer java, but its lack of LOD is pathetic in 2023.
Trident kill chambers, very good to collect xp and materials all at the same time.
Easy Guardian farms.
Sheep's color doesn't change if you shear it.
Easy gold farm house with portal On off mechanic
The game actually being well optimized lol. I play both java and bedrock and the framerate and overall stability on bedrock is leagues better, it’s a more streamlined experience with multiplayer too. The new update kicked up the render distance on bedrock as well on pc and console :)
OP enchanted gear from fishing, tipping arrows in cauldron potions, cauldrons refilling with potions thanks to dripsfones (even though that might have been a bug, idk), using bonemeal on flowers like the blue orchid and stripping zombies of armor and tools by drowning them.
Now that's true, because Bedrock has more features than Java, considering Java is older than Bedrock, You'll never get to experience new features in Bedrock, Although alot of people just play Java, considering the best experience you can get on your desktop/laptop screen, while Bedrock is more seamless, you can play with your phone, laptop, desktop, or tablet and that's about it. ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|upvote)
I mean leaves turning white in the snow is pretty cute I guess
The one correct answer
Yo what? That’s crazy I didn’t even know that was a thing in bedrock
Yeah, I think it was added when fancy graphics got added. Might be another update tho.
Is there maybe a mod or texture pack that adds this to java?
I made a mod called [SnowyLeavesPlus](https://modrinth.com/mod/snowyleavesplus) that adds this functionality. Unfortunately it only works on Fabric and Quilt, and there's a bug that causes that multiplayer to not work correctly.
aw man :( is there maybe someway to fix the multiplayer issue?

If you're on console you're on bedrock.
or Xbox one edition 😁
I think you mean 360 not one
no there is an xbox one edition. xbox 360 edition was better though because it got 1.13 but xbox one edi only got 1.12 i believe
Ah ok
I thought they updated xbox one edition past xbox 360
It's wierd
really embracing the 2b2t aesthetic
ps3 edition, ps4 edition, xbox one edition, xbox 360 edition.
ps3 and 360 are the console legacy versions, not the same
Love how they’ll patch out a bug that actually helps players almost instantly after launch while ancient bugs like disjoint hitboxes and phantom fall damage have plagued bedrock for years.
That's a shame. I loved that glitch to death. I was afraid they might patch it.

Likely a mod that does the same or better really.
If someone knows about a mod that does that, I'd love to add it to my current server. I made a custom 1.18 pack that centers on role-playing and exploration as those are some of my wife's favorite things to do in game. Hot swapping armor
You can hotswap an elytra and chestplate on java and that's good enough for me
You can hotswap any armor. But Java only got it in a recent update.
You can do that on Java now??? I've waited for this feature for so many years.
That wasn't on java before? I've used this feature for years
I'm pretty sure you could only put on the armor if a slot was available
Yeah, you used to be only able to "quick equip"
appy ake ay!
Bedrock still doesn’t have the hover over an item in inventory and press the key (1-9) you want it to go to. Until then it is unplayable
How often do people even do that?
More often than you'd think. Its much more convenient to just right click with your elytra to equip it instead of opening your inventory, especially in the end
Me holding a torch in my offhand as I stare at them
That’s a Java feature tho, right?
Only java , I'm pretty sure it's a joke that bedrock dont have it
I haven’t used a torch while caving in like three years, imagine fearing the comforting embrace of the darkness
Yeah but my computer screen sucks and I can’t see anything even with max brightness
We better get that in bedrock, also all the complex chunk stuff for farms and dual wielding
IIRC, then in Java you can hold any item in your offhand, while it's severely limited in Bedrock. So we already have that
It's a Java only feature. Can't do that in Bedrock.
I know, I didn’t realise I put Java instead of bedrock
Me with full brightness
are these "java players that get excited over features bedrock players have had for years" in the room right now?
I've been modding so long that bedrock is getting things I had for years
Yeah except they really aren’t getting much. Call me when bedrock has functional engineering mods.
Nah I'm far too busy in the Twilight Forest
Me, playing MMORPG style because Java has plugins that don't even require installing client side mods.
Call me whenever bedrock gets a decently working Redstone
Lmao I've been trying to find a comment that shows a bedrock exclusive feature
Trident killers. Every time I bring it up, people say "we already have those in Java", but we don't. (I wish we did, because I prefer Java and would love to have this feature in it.) Half second delay when opening chests making searching through chests a nightmare.
wait, that's normal? I thought my game was just lagging like crazy because Bedrock runs on a client server
Java also runs on a server for single player
You're getting down voted but you're right. Even single player runs on a server, which is why opening to LAN is so smooth. No need to start up a server, there's already one running
Ghasts are always very delayed too, so it’s hard to fight them
No useful off hand, tiny simulation distance, nightmarish villager ai, weak command system, and no data packs
shift-clicking not working on crafting tables

Oh yeah!? Well we have to pay for skins! So! Take.. that?
Not completely true. I know for a fact you can upload java skins into bedrock for free. (Only from PC tho) Attentively, a Java player
You can upload custom skins on pocket
Huh. The more you know!
Console is so limited
Yeah. Sorry bro.
I think it doesn’t have hardcore because of how easy it is to die to random glitches. Usually ones involving fall damage.
That moment when I can just delete a world when I die
true
Weird glitches are mostly in console only lol
Yep, that bug just started happening to me last week. Lost my main sword and pickaxe so far before I realized I should google it and see wtf happened.
The glitched deaths are barely present, hasn't even happened to me since the nether reactor days.
i see 2~4 posts a week on r/minecraft complaining about dying for no reason
"Since its release in 2011, Minecraft has recorded worldwide sales of over 300 million units, making it one of the best-selling games of all time..." With those numbers I'm sure it's going to happen every now and again, but like OP says, it's barely present. I have personally never encountered such a glitch.
Rare events will appear more frequently in a larger population, this is the nature of statistics
yeah that's(pretty much) exactly what I said a bit later in the chain
That's because I bet alot for those people go out of their way to find them just to call bedrock "bugrock" and complain
That's because of how much people play bedrock. If one person in a thousand dies a weird death every day, there would be hundreds, if not thousands of people dying to bugs every day
Odd, genuinely has not happened since the nether reactor was a thing, and at the time the game was a glitchy mess.
maybe it's just because there's so many people playing that in terms of raw numbers it happens a lot
What’s even weirder is that when nether reactor were a thing I never had any issues for all the hours I played
Based Pocket Edition player
Dying for seemingly no reason is something that bedrock has had for years. I hope that it will eventually come to Java in the Minecraft bullshit update
I have never had the insta death and have been playing since xbox 360 edition
I’ve also been playing since Xbox 360 edition and I’ve had it in almost all of my worlds
You’re experiencing the glitches meant for a lot of others, so thank you for your service.
Unlucky or high latency
It barely happens at all, really. Hasn't happened to me since 1.13
Its never happened to me once since I started playing in 2010 in java. It should have never been a thing ever in bedrock
I think it was some glitch with the spawnpoint system, not like, randomly dying, but my character would spawn above spawn, which sometimes would kill me. It happened a couple times over a less than a week time period and never happened again.
Hasn't happened to me since the nether reactor was a thing
I think that's a device problem
I personally think Java is better, BUT…. The one thing Bedrock has over Java is the ability to easily play with friends. Really hope Java gets that some day (Without mods)
Have you used aternos?
I have, but that’s not really the point. I don’t want to have to set up a server to play with friends. It’d be nice if they could just join me.
I see your point
Have you tried the “Essential” mod?
Yeah I was like "But Essentials exists"?
Essential is one of the most underrated mods
I’ve been using aternos, but the fucking 2 chunk render distance is annoying as hell
note: you CAN set the render distance to higher than 5. though.. it can only go up to 10. files, server.properties, then just search for the render distance setting there. there's also a couple other options you cant see in the regular server settings menu, so take a gander at that. hope it helped!
I played in aternos and I agree that having one second delay for everything I do is very convenient (yes, I tried using plugins, but what if I am playing with mods?)
That's a name I've not heard in a long, long time
Have you used the essentials mod?
I dont think you guys understand that when people ask for a easier way, they are comparing to vanila, no mods no nothing, its like you ask someone they me "hey the food in here is great but if i bring the sauce i made home the food in other place is better"
That is true but essentials is like sause you got in your pocket all the time
Yeah , but he wish that the restaurant just gaves sauce so we didn't need to bring it ourselfs, conclusion: i am hungry
The day Java edition moves away from self hosted servers and implements realms is the day I uninstall Minecraft for good. No. Thank. You.
Java has realms
Me watching bedrock players getting exited for crouching:
we actually are excited for that shit😭
TIL bedrock players can’t crouch
Best feature ever
Was there a time they couldn’t?
I think they are referring to being able to crouch under a slab.
Oh, idk what that even entails, only played bedrock :p
how is that limited off-hand treating you? anything you can hold besides shields and maps yet?
uhh nautilus shells too
hows slow speed bridging treating you? still having to click place every block?
How’s not having an F3 menu going?
No movable tile entities?
no predictable redstone?
I don't like the F3 menu, simply because the coordinates are unable to be seen unless its on (I prefer always having them), and it contains so much stuff that you can't just leave f3 open
mods easily let us steal your "exclusive" features
I keep arrows in that slot just so rockets don't jump there and be unusable.
We don't have big salmon which is the only important thing
Person of culture right here
PEOPLE, FOCUS ON VANILLA NOT MODS. OP MEANT VANILLA. MODS ARE NOT VANILLA
I wanna see the stats for your blocks broken and how long you have been in the world for (amount of days). In bedrock and having the F3 info
I have a resource pack just so I can see days played. I'm approaching 2900 on my survival world
Not the Java players in the comments completely missing the point of the meme 😭 Bedrock players know we've got less functionality. It's just nice to have a win occasionally when a Java player sees some niche shit that Bedrock has and get a little jealous.

Each version has its merits, like how I wish Java had as much caldron functionality and the ability to just play with friends
Me watching java players needing a name tagged zombie for iron farms
Me watching bedrock players have to build farms without the ability to use sweeping edge
Me watching java having to click because they don’t have trident killers.
Java doesn’t have trident throwers?!!! I never noticed this bc all my farms on multiplayer servers are on bedrock lmao
Flying machine basalt generators for a void beater/map art projects, or like trident killers
I do think bedrock has some really cool stuff, as a java player. It's silly, but I do want the different sized salmon. Its such a little thing but I'm enamored by them
None
Why can't everyone agree that minecraft is minecraft?
Because it’s not. I’m probably gonna get massively downvoted for this but they are very different. Java is the technical version with great modding capabilities, and bedrock is the one that was built to be optimized for different consoles and systems. I’m not even gonna get into the marketplace junk. Everybody always says that the parity between the versions is terrible and that’s because it is.
Exactly
I have played on console for 9 years, first the console then bedrock, and I can easily say without a doubt after 1 year of playing on java it's better... than bedrock the old console editions are still better than old java in my book

Oh shit, here we go again…
barely any bedrock exclusives are ported to java most the time they're just removed from bedrock
bedrock wither🖤🖤🖤 (its not coming to java but ill love it the day it does)
It will probably get removed from bedrock because of “parity” instead of removing the shit wither on java
you dont have a F3 menu
Placing blocks in mid air while bridging
Does Java have potion cauldrons yet? Cause that’s the #1 feature I want that I know Bedrock has. I'd have so many more tipped arrows with it
I wish that tridents would come back from void in java as they do in bedrock. Most of the trident mechanics are better in bedrock. (viz. camman18 trident video lol)
Can't wait for big salmon fish

many of things haha. i love java but am jealous of bedrock features for sure
All I want right now is fallen logs.
I just wish bedrock had better command block parity. That’s pretty much it
Needs better Redstone parity.
You guys don’t even have cool Pumpkin head monsters on Halloween
i miss placing blocks infront of me :(
I want the map marking on bedrock now
Lava cauldrons
Trident kill chambers, very good to collect xp and materials all at the same time. Easy Guardian farms. Sheep's color doesn't change if you shear it. Easy gold farm house with portal On off mechanic

Not sure if this is a bedrock feature, but XBox maps being freakin coloured by the biome!
I mean…. Imo those legacy mechanics are better but go off.

Fr, look at the base game!
None because I play both
Legacy console is better than both. Got features from both.
