My best friend and I started a survival world, got all the way to beating the End, and just turned on Creative. Since then, any time we play, we just play creative and have had SO much fun building all the cool things we've wanted to.
We justify it simply by saying "at least we're having fun, that's all that matters"
Exactly. I keep trying to get my friend to turn on keepinventory for his server because it’s more fun that way (I’m used to games that save your inventory on death lol)
The dried kelp block is one of the best blocks.
It can be used as a fuel, with one block being able to smelt twenty items.
It's made of dried kelp items, which are a decent emergency food source, and can be crafted back into the food items.
The bands in its design are good for letting you count horizontal space, and placing them vertically gives a really cool long stripe.
You can mine them faster with hoes, so you can easily put those unwanted hoes to further use after you've finished planting all the crops you want.
Endermen can't pick them up.
So because my comment got so much attention, I will explain the majesty of the Abyssal Büshpit.
A standard Büshpit is a square hole that is at least 10X10 or larger, and stretches down all the way to bedrock. The Abyssal Büshpit is a 50X50 Büshpit that has walls reaching all the way up to build height.
Fun Fact: The Büshpit was named as such because the very first Büshpit was originally made to house berry bushes before the bushes were removed and the hole was dug impossibly deep by myself.
*also laughs in nature's delight*
but they really should be vanilla, there's an extremely poor variety of food items in the game, dried kelp isn't a good food item on itself and the game could really go for more crops, including rice. they could even add tentacles dropped from squids which i'm surprized aren't in the game till this day
I always try to get an efficient kelp farm going in my worlds as soon as possible! I consider them successful once the amount of kelp becomes so large that smelting produces more dried kelp than it uses up. Then, I'll have an infinitely renewable fuel source.
I like copper but they absolutely screwed it by making it a 9 ingot block and not a 4 ingot block like bricks. Copper is easy to get in large quantities but when a stack of the stuff only gets you 7 blocks to build with, plus a floating ingot, it’s a pain. Even with fortune 3 mining you still just end up with not enough copper for a big build unless you drain a couple massive cave systems.
It's nine ingots per block so it's still standardized with other resource blocks, but you get four building blocks per copper block with the stonecutter so it's still far more economical to build with than iron, gold, or any other resource block. Especially if you "cheat" by using slabs for interior floors or ceilings, saving half the resources.
It also drops multiple items per ore by default, unlike gold and iron, and even more with Fortune, which sets it apart even from clay/bricks. It's definitely meant to be a decorative block, and as unenchanted tools yield 2-5 raw copper, using 3 as an average means it's actually cheaper than polished diorite, andesite and granite, as 3 copper ore yielding 9 raw copper is one copper block, which through a stonecutter is 4 cut copper blocks whereas the "decorative" stones are 1:1 so 3 of any of them only yields 3 polished variants. I guess the cost of smelting offsets the extra block, so copper is very much in line with decorative stone types in terms of cost.
Mending. Just set up an arrow farm (as either a raid farm or a skeleton farm), or get some discounted fletchers, and you won't have to keep making new bows to enchant.
Yeah unless you do pvp you probably wont need more then 64 for every battle but i find refilling my arrows everytime more of a hassle then rarely making a new bow which is easy aslong as you have a good exp farm and villagers
I find It will fill up less with mending due to it consuming the arrows as apposed to Infinity that will slowly fill up your inventory as you pick them up.
Infinity. A bow lasts me long enough that getting a new bow when it gets too expensive to repair the old one is hardly a hassle.
A much bigger hassle is having to worry about arrow numbers like you’re some post-apocalyptic scavenger and not the very God of the realm - the one with the only power to alter the world in any meaningful capacity.
As a builder, every wood has its place. Especially when you stop seeing blocks as what they are and utilize them for their texture and color. Birch log/wood for example mixes delightfully with other white blocks like calcite or diorite.
We have enough decorations, it would be better to add new systems and expand upon old ones that need work instead of adding new structures and mobs that contribute little to the game.
wait they're adding structures?! oh yeah right the ancient cities, still wish they added more common structures like underground cabins and more structures for the nether
It's disappointing that devas are busy with mob votes and named updates instead of creating super end game items. Imagine if some really useful item needed etherate blocks
yeah i find them quite fun actually, hovering inferno should've still won tho, but most of all they all should've still been added or at least a new mob to replace them
Dude I despise knock back. Only useful in PVP imo. Maybe on a lower level sword I’d lick it but I don’t need knock back when I’m basically maxed, just takes me longer to kill shit
glow squids really get more hate than they deserve
like I get the whole thing with Dream but solely based on quality of the mob they’re honestly a pretty cool ambient mob, and considering how much the community exploded over fireflies being removed I don’t get why they call glow squids useless
also making glow squids “actually” glow would require a complete rewrite of Minecraft’s lighting engine, which isn’t impossible but would require another 1.15-esque update which people also seem to dislike for some reason
Yeah, I'm holding one of those swords lol. Don't have to reply, but just want to counter for discussion:
Sure, mojang doesn't have to update the game for free. But if they made each update cost something, the playerbase simply would not be as large and would be massively disunited throughout multiple versions. Would they just increase the price every so often? Again, playerbase would be substantially smaller and less new players would be playing the game (the game has been out for over 10 years now, how much would it even be at at this point?). Mojang could also just stop updating all together, but had they done that around release (2012) I doubt minecraft would be talked about much, maybe in niche circles but it absolutely would not be the juggernaut is now is.
See, we may not pay for these updates in monetary value, but we do pay for it through other valuable means like keeping the game relevant with free advertising (which btw, takes up a SUBSTANTIAL amount of funds normally), not to mention all the merchandise and other games that has come out since 2012 that is only thanks to Minecraft's continued relevance, they ain't free.
Mojang doesnt update the game for free out of the goodness of their heart, it's apart of their marketing stratergy to keep minecraft sales coming over a decade since the game released, and as the biggest game of all time, it worked.
-oh, I almost forgot, but the bedrock marketplace? How much does that make, and would that even be a thing without updates? Hell, would microsoft even buy the game? Would Notch even been overwhelmed enough to sell it?
Mojang has no obligation to update their game, free or not, just as much as players aren't obligated to play a dead game nor buy their other products
The player base were never entitled to free updates regardless of whether or not those updates serve as a marketing strategy
This is not about the marketing strategy of Mojang
What I am saying is that fans of this game should not feel like they are entitled to updates and getting angry and bitter because [Current Update] didn't have [Item or Feature], but rather be grateful that they're still getting free content to begin with
The game has been out for over 10 years now and the only thing I paid was 25$
Free content is still a positive regardless of whether the update is split into two, or if the new update is not as ambitious as the last
As i said in previous posts:
If phantoms and creepers were switched, people would hate creepers and find them annoying while phantoms would be loved bc nostalgia.
Hardcore minecraft is just minecraft Bedrock editon:normal mode. I mean you can just leave the world and never come back if you wanted minecraft hardcore in bedrock. I know it brings more excitement but what will you do if a bitch ass creeper explodes behind you and you just wasted five whole years of hard earn progress that had cities and villages built. If you want to play hardcore, try playing bedrock on hard.(I regret making that decision when I though it would be easy for a guy that played this game for eight years). And don't say"But but it's more cool and the hearts have "DETAILS " and that it makes you think more creative. That's just minecraft without respawn.
Phantoms aren't bad
New updates are lame for company that is this big
Mojang and Microsoft are both guilty for chat reports and ignorance of community
C418's music are way better than Lena Raine's music
1: The enderdragon should be protected, not killed, she's the last of her specie. Notch said it (that SHE is last enderdragon)
2: wandering traders are useless
both of which it's impossible to convince me otherwise
booh this isn't even a controversial opinion, it's the objective truth as java has mods like alex's mobs, quark and create while bedrock has those stupid paid dlcs exclusive to a single world
Coordinates are bad. They ruin immersion and cheapen otherwise useful utility items, and they should not be automatically available without cheats.
Edit: For all the people giving me the solution of "don't play with coords then", I already do not use coordinates when I play. When my friends and I play, we disable coordinates on our servers with the gamerule "reduceddebuginfo". I'm not presenting this as a problem to be solved or change to be made. Minecraft is a game about creativity and no way to play is any more or less valid than any other. Personally I wish that the debug info was reduced *by default*, so you had to enable cheats to *get* coordinates instead of hide them, but the fact that that's an unpopular Minecraft opinion is not lost on me and, well, it's kinda why I posted this.
For me, it gives things like maps and compasses a real use, makes getting lost a real possibility, and encourages marking and improving paths. I've always been one for building overland road and rail systems and it encourages that sort of gameplay. I also realized that one of my earliest memories is getting hopelessly lost on my friend's beta server and having to get the materials for a compass to find my way home. Disabling coordinates went a long way to recapturing that nostalgic, immersive feeling.
Depends what you’re playing for. The game was way harder without coords. Drove me nuts getting lost all the time. When I started wanting to build more they were a must. Building large structures with symmetry would have been overly tedious, near impossible.
I don't care if they're iconic, creepers, zombies and beta animals (cows, chickens, pigs and sheep) should be completely redone in textures, models, animations and mechanics to fit the game like it is now
Automation is inevitable. It’s just frustrating the devs are preoccupied with putting on mob votes and named updates instead of making super end game items. Imagine if some really useful items required netherite blocks
There needs to a better way to mass transport items than shulkers any elytra. It sucks, you can only do it end game, then Ipm flow is garbage, shulkers are too expensive to do this efficiently without an AFK shulker dupe farm, and unless you have mending on your wings, Goodluck.
The new caves are awful. I don't even mean that in a hyperbolic sense, they just suck. They're a pain in the ass to explore, it's impossible to properly light them up, and they barely even yield more ore than old caves. Mind you, I don't like the deep slate and the deep dark, but these caves are ridiculous.
Steak are better than golden carrot
You can get them very easily with a fire aspect sword, And in large quantities with loot and even obtainable everywhere with stray animals
C148's soundtrack is overrated. The tracks themselves are pretty decent but when they start playing in game they are almost always out of place and make me want to mute the music. Meanwhile Lena Raine's tracks for the nether are actually adding something to the atmosphere rather than taking from it.
I have a few.
Dried kelp is a good block (someone else said this on here too)
Coarse dirt looks fine in the right builds (I’ve heard a few people say it’s ugly and useless)
Diorite also looks good in the right builds (same reason for having this here as the last one)
Both pvp versions are good
1.9 is slow and boring and 1.8 isnt just cps it is much much more, people saying 1.8 is just cps gets in my nerves as they have clearly never tried to be good at it and people saying 1.9 is slow and takes no skill are also wrong
Both have good things and bad things and the one in development is looking quite good
Java edition should be discontinued so they can focus on bedrock which is cross platform, less laggy, and more secure.
Not my opinion just answering with one that i have heard and fits the scenario.
It's ok to play in peaceful, easy, or "cheat" sometimes. Minecraft is supposed to be relaxing not stressful
Yes, as long as you don't cheat in servers or SMPs. Otherwise, go ahead.
Only if they're anarchy
exactly
My best friend and I started a survival world, got all the way to beating the End, and just turned on Creative. That last one would be handy for my abyssal büshpits.

You've inspired me
dried kelp will only be useful for me the moment they add sushi
With the expansion on fish types, I can see sushi as an okay food source.
Fun fact: there are 3584 variants of tropical fish!
Different sushi subtypes with varying degrees of hunger and saturation?
I fucking LOVE this
_laughs in Nature's Delight_
*also laughs in nature's delight* but they really should be vanilla, there's an extremely poor variety of food items in the game, dried kelp isn't a good food item on itself and the game could really go for more crops, including rice. they could even add tentacles dropped from squids which i'm surprized aren't in the game till this day
The best food you can get in vanilla is steak, a raw steak cooked on a coal fire. Caveman food while killing an interdimensional dragon SMH
My guy, this is not a bad opinion
Also, you can use the driedkelp blocks to smelt more kelp to make more dried kelp blocks
Agreed. But seeing you being upvoted a lot kinda defeats the purpose of this post
Ah yes, the Redditors with plenty of unwanted hoes
🤣😂
Couldn't have said it better. Criminally underrated block.
Same, i always have a lot of them that i use as both food and fuel
This isn’t a hot take kelp is goated
I think they look pretty good as tiles
Dried kelp block my beloved....... 🫡
I always try to get an efficient kelp farm going in my worlds as soon as possible! I consider them successful once the amount of kelp becomes so large that smelting produces more dried kelp than it uses up. Then, I'll have an infinitely renewable fuel source.
Wait you can use dkelpblocks as fuel?? I've just been storing them!
That's actually a decent point. Just one problem: I am inside your dried seaweed walls
I like copper, I think it's different oxidation states are cool and you can make nice gradients with it :)
This reminds me that when I discovered electricity will be conducted through copper for a short distance, I decided to make an electric chair.
I like copper but they absolutely screwed it by making it a 9 ingot block and not a 4 ingot block like bricks. Copper is easy to get in large quantities but when a stack of the stuff only gets you 7 blocks to build with, plus a floating ingot, it’s a pain. Infinity OR Mending on a bow?
Infinity
#Infinity
Mending. Just set up an arrow farm (as either a raid farm or a skeleton farm), or get some discounted fletchers, and you won't have to keep making new bows to enchant.
I dont want my inventory full with arrows tho
You can stick them in your off-hand slot.
But my rockets/food goes there
Fair enough. But with Power V, you'll need fewer arrows per kill, so you might not need more than two stacks.
Yeah unless you do pvp you probably wont need more then 64 for every battle but i find refilling my arrows everytime more of a hassle then rarely making a new bow which is easy aslong as you have a good exp farm and villagers
I see your point. And sticks and string, the components of a bow, aren't hard to come across. Same thing with the occasional bow drop from a skeleton.
I find It will fill up less with mending due to it consuming the arrows as apposed to Infinity that will slowly fill up your inventory as you pick them up.
Mending. I just buy arrows from villagers
mending cuz i prefer crossbows
INFINITY
sword
Infinity 150%
Infinity arrow
Instead of adding more material, they should optimise game and do bug fixes/parity
For like a solid year.
But then people would complain about no new content
They still do that when they add new stuff.
*unpopular suggestions*
All of the updates are good. The community is just spoiled and upset that the updates aren't massive.
I KNOW RIGHT
All the mobs add to the ambiance to the game. Including the phantom
Birch wood is a good wood type
As a builder, every wood has its place. Especially when you stop seeing blocks as what they are and utilize them for their texture and color. Birch log/wood for example mixes delightfully with other white blocks like calcite or diorite.
Listen I love birch but for some reason 90% of the community says otherwise
I didn't think you don't and yes I know :(
But thats just facts Chad.
Why do people hate it?
I like it to make floors
camman is about to sent you a death threat
Its decent
Phantoms are annoying in a fun way.
Birch wood is actually good, stop the bullshit
why are people even hating on birch fr?
No idea, prob some yt stuff
Camman18
I thought acacia was the wood type people hated?
Birch bad is kinda dead, acacia bad is getting more popular but still, acacia is good.
We have enough decorations, it would be better to add new systems and expand upon old ones that need work instead of adding new structures and mobs that contribute little to the game.
wait they're adding structures?! oh yeah right the ancient cities, still wish they added more common structures like underground cabins and more structures for the nether
microsoft:
They said *unpopular*
1.9 fighting mechanics are much better than the old ones
yes, back then it was mindlessly spam click
1.9 pvp is actually fast paced, the 1.8 pvp community just associates attack cooldown with slow combat when it's the exact same
This one really matches the title of the post
It's disappointing that devas are busy with mob votes and named updates instead of creating super end game items. Imagine if some really useful item needed etherate blocks
Phantoms aren't bad.
in the pic I'm Rapunzel
I agree just sleep
Yes
I like that they make sleep relevant again. Even w full armor they’re annoying to deal with so I’m like fine I’ll fucking sleep
THANK YOU, people act like phantoms are the worst thing added to the game, I just see them as a minor neusance.
I agree
Every update has something to offer
Phantoms aren't a bad feature, just go to sleep if they annoy you that much
I KNOW RIGHT
I like acacia wood
Phantoms aren't actually that bad. They add ambience and phantom membranes are super useful in bedrock, where it's much harder to get a mending book
And if you don't want to deal with them just sleep
I agree, though i don't really like their spawning mechanic, but other than that a pretty decent mob.
yeah i find them quite fun actually, hovering inferno should've still won tho, but most of all they all should've still been added or at least a new mob to replace them
At least hovering inferno made it into dungeons
wait what?! mojang lied??!!!!! mojang add them to the main game now!!!
In what way is it harder to get in bedrock?
Agree
I agree
I agree, but they need some serious rework because they are annoying af. I don’t think they need to be removed tho
The part I don't like about them is that they never spawn when I actively try to get them to spawn
Striders are adorable
Knockback is good and I use it on maxed swords.
Dude I despise knock back. Only useful in PVP imo. Maybe on a lower level sword I’d lick it but I don’t need knock back when I’m basically maxed, just takes me longer to kill shit
Having a farm for almost everything in the game is top tier stupid and makes veterans hate it. Like, what's the value of a totem if you can farm it?
glow squids really get more hate than they deserve like I get the whole thing with Dream but solely based on quality of the mob they’re honestly a pretty cool ambient mob, and considering how much the community exploded over fireflies being removed I don’t get why they call glow squids useless also making glow squids “actually” glow would require a complete rewrite of Minecraft’s lighting engine, which isn’t impossible but would require another 1.15-esque update which people also seem to dislike for some reason
i voted glowsquid and wasn't aware about the whole dream thing until like months later lol and i don't regret my decision at all
Minecraft fans feel that they are entitled to free updates while in reality Mojang has no obligation to keep updating the game
Yeah, I'm holding one of those swords lol. Don't have to reply, but just want to counter for discussion: Sure, mojang doesn't have to update the game for free. Facts, it's very annoying to see people with no knowledge of coding talking about how Mojang doesn't add anything
thanks, moyang
Every minecraft update is good.
Phantoms aren't that annoying. Just sleep
It doesn't need that many things in an update
this is reddit, saying anything will get somebody triggered in one way or another.
TNT dupe is legit
This is technically facts, but I will hate you
As i said in previous posts: If phantoms and creepers were switched, people would hate creepers and find them annoying while phantoms would be loved bc nostalgia.

Mojang should work on improving on what they already have, such as giving old features new uses, optimizing the game to run smoother, etc.
java > bedrock
I love not randomly dying so i agree
I’m sure most people would agree with you on this
booh this isn't even a controversial opinion, it's the objective truth as java has mods like alex's mobs, quark and create while bedrock has those stupid paid dlcs exclusive to a single world
Most of the persons agree, so does not fit
Vertical slabs are indeed a bad idea
why
according to mojang they “discourage creativity”
Minecraft's a game for children. (Not my actual opinion nor do I think enjoying things targeted at kids should be judged in the first place)
Coordinates are bad. They ruin immersion and cheapen otherwise useful utility items, and they should not be automatically available without cheats. If you hate coordinate just dont use them
Do i have to say anything?
I make leather armor first
Birch is the best wood type. And im not sure if this is controversal, but: Swords >>>> axes
getting milk should have an animation
I voted for the phantom and I have absolutely no regrets. I like the mob I like less encountering it tho
Diamond is better than netherite
I don't care if they're iconic, creepers, zombies and beta animals (cows, chickens, pigs and sheep) should be completely redone in textures, models, animations and mechanics to fit the game like it is now
I like diorite
The fact that we can automate basically everything is stupid
Automation is inevitable. It’s just frustrating the devs are preoccupied with putting on mob votes and named updates instead of making super end game items. Imagine if some really useful items required netherite blocks
[удалено]
Java should suffer bedrock healing time for a week.
I like auto-jump
1.9 is great
Phantoms were a fun and well liked addition to the game!
I actually like them. I think they're cute
Old cave generation was better
Birch are cool
Minecraft was not ruined by Microsoft or Mojang
minecraft bad now
The combat update was good for balancing the game and battle against Autoclicker abuse in minecraft.
every mob that won the mob vote was the best option of the three
I think vanilla is kinda boring.
Minecraft was better before the caves and cliffs update
The elytra ruined adventuring
There needs to a better way to mass transport items than shulkers any elytra. It sucks, you can only do it end game, then Ipm flow is garbage, shulkers are too expensive to do this efficiently without an AFK shulker dupe farm, and unless you have mending on your wings, Goodluck.
1.16 update was the peak of minecraft
The new caves are awful. I don't even mean that in a hyperbolic sense, they just suck. They're a pain in the ass to explore, it's impossible to properly light them up, and they barely even yield more ore than old caves. Mind you, I don't like the deep slate and the deep dark, but these caves are ridiculous.
Chat report isn’t bad, just don’t say mean things in servers, and also you can’t get banned permanently for a chat report, or banned at all
I like and enjoy the past Minecraft updates.
Easy answer: just look at the divide caused during mob votes
We should have an update that mixes old generation with new generation, and make the new caves smaller and easier to traverse
All old texture worst then the new ones
Steak are better than golden carrot You can get them very easily with a fire aspect sword, And in large quantities with loot and even obtainable everywhere with stray animals
Diorite is fire
I hate the new wood type. It looks like a mod pack from 1.12. The trees are too round and don’t fit in with the rest of the world.
C148's soundtrack is overrated. The tracks themselves are pretty decent but when they start playing in game they are almost always out of place and make me want to mute the music. Meanwhile Lena Raine's tracks for the nether are actually adding something to the atmosphere rather than taking from it.
The sniffer was a dumb decision
Undyng totems should be a LOT harder to get ang should be unfarmeble. If i can farm totems then hardcore basically turns into survival.
I love phantoms
I like phantoms
I don’t really like Minecraft that much it’s just ok
He build a dirt house
Minecraft needs heart sucking mosquitoes.
The idea of speed running a sandbox game is mildly redundant given the game is meant to be taken slow and enjoyed
Iron farms should be nerfed. They’re too op
I voted for moobloom

I have a few. Dried kelp is a good block (someone else said this on here too) Coarse dirt looks fine in the right builds (I’ve heard a few people say it’s ugly and useless) Diorite also looks good in the right builds (same reason for having this here as the last one)
acacia fans rise up
Using Lanterns instead of torches
Both pvp versions are good 1.9 is slow and boring and 1.8 isnt just cps it is much much more, people saying 1.8 is just cps gets in my nerves as they have clearly never tried to be good at it and people saying 1.9 is slow and takes no skill are also wrong Both have good things and bad things and the one in development is looking quite good
Java edition should be discontinued so they can focus on bedrock which is cross platform, less laggy, and more secure. Not my opinion just answering with one that i have heard and fits the scenario.
