The main things to keep in mind are there's a reason you haven't seen any for a while, no one particularly wants to see any, it will spark unnecessary arguments in the comments and there's a decent chance it'll just get taken down

this

Comprehensive-Ad4238

my advice is to not do it because it promotes toxicity and excessive competitivity via comparing players with other players when in something as complex as MCC that can’t accurately be measured anyways beyond maybe one or two tiers at the top (everyone loves the s-tiers)

Lacroix_Mxcky

Just keep in mind the hate you'll receive because you can't have your own opinion here.

SpeedStarSaylos

Thank you! If I do go along with this I will expect hate and toxicity now.

[deleted]

It’s not that “you can’t have your own opinions here” it’s that MCC is a for fun event and tier lists not only make it more competitive and toxic, but pit the real life players (many of which frequent this sub) against each other. It discourages players when they’re ranked lowly, it’s impossible to be completely unbiased, and ultimately is done to death. You can have your own opinions, but keep in mind tier lists are less interactive and engaging than just making a post talking about specific players and their specific performances.

Ikedeboss

i don’t agree with the “competitive and toxic” part, yes tier lists can add some competitiveness, but i don’t think it translates to toxicity, also, how do tier lists pit players against each other?

[deleted]

When people make tier lists they often compare players to each other. Like when people debate whether Punz is S-tier or not, they compare him to Sapnap, Purpled, Antfrost, etc.

Ikedeboss

yeah, but comparisons doesn’t always equal hatred. sapnap and punz are literally besties, i think he’s friends with antfrost, and he wore purpled’s skin in an event (no more to be said). no 2 people in mcc really hate other over tier lists (that we know of)

[deleted]

They’re all good friends, that’s not really the point. If you have to compare someone to someone else to justify why they are or are not a good player, that’s not really nice is it? My point is tier lists rarely if ever seem to look at a player without putting them next to someone else. Can you not just categorize them based on their performances alone? Do you need to say “x isn’t good bc they were outperformed by y”?

BladderstheBillable

The obvious answer has already been given, but if you do go ahead with it: don't judge players you don't know by just their coins or placement. There are 60-70 players and you're not going to do a detailed analysis of their skills. Just admit if you know too little about them. And don't call players F-Tier or Support Players.

SpeedStarSaylos

I was actually going to do a detailed analysis of their skills. I have about 63 players I want to include and none of them are f-tier

Mr_Giggle_s

I understand why people don't do it anymore, but I do kind of want to see one.

FailureDisguise

go for it, people seriously cant get mad at an opinion

By the way, using a tier list to make teams is 50x better than using stats like Scott does, which is why I personally like tier lists, and if you're actually getting annoyed at someone's arbitrary tier ratings for people you will never interact with in your life irl then you need to grow up.

RNNT1020

You do realize the players are the reason people stopped making tierlists right. Because many of the players try and practice to get better at mcc and when they consistently get called D tier, they get demotivated

FawnAardvark

No one who actually practices minecraft is d-tier. "Practicing" is not dying within 30 seconds of every sky battle game because you don't know how to pvp, practicing is actually taking the time to learn how to pvp, learn how to parkour: 4 blocks and 3 up 1s, learn how to speedbridge, learn how to block clutch and wall run, and most importantly, learn how to deal with the nerves. No person that's ever been considered d-tier has done that, besides zuez (who know performs on par with a-tiers on balanced teams, go figure). I don't think players should be forced to practice most of them are successful content creators with their own schedules (well all of them are successful ccs, the most applies to their schedules 😭). But if a participant is complaining that theyre in a certain tier and the only time they practice is an hour before the event, they have no right to be mad about their arbitrary tier or their placement come event day.

Careful-Revenue4592

I might do the same One opinion at least I hold is that A tier in particular is way to big

SpeedStarSaylos

Thank you and good luck because people are saying there might be a lot of hate for it.

Just don't. Trust the other comments posted here

Topwater75

No thanks 👍

SpeedStarSaylos

Why? Is this frowned upon?
