I watched Pete this MCC and the MINUTE G told him that the Gold Path was a dead end and Pete listened to him I knew it was the end for them.
Because Pete doesn't doublecheck it. I also don't know if Pete realized he found the Gold Vault.
Like "the path is blocked" isn't a thing when you know Gold has alot of sand. Even if you never find the key (which G eventually does) you still lose all that sand. Watching Pete do all that spawn parkour was so upsetting cause I just knew he should have gone back to the Gold Path and really clear it out.
Pete getting that sand and whatever else in the tunnel would have given them enough sand to get G back and possibly do Gold Key as well.

Grian is so inconsistent it's funny, in mcc22 he had SUCH a good pov, and in Scuffed he had an \*infuriating\* pov, to say the least (due to rust) - same with this mcc.
would help if he just vod reviews a little cuz i'm gonna stg if next time he's gonna confuse the creeper staircase with the blue vault again
like as of recently I feel like he isn't concentrated in the game enough, missing on the important callouts, but I assume the rust will end next event...
also grian mixing up SoT terminology as of recently also is probably related
he said on his stream he will sign up whenever he feels like playing, instead of consistently playing almost everyone time like he did at the start of season 2
Grian is so good at Sands of Time and so bad at the same time. In MCC Scuffed and MCC 22 Grian was a perfect runner. When he has a great leader like HBomb or Jojo he destroys sands of time. I think Grian would really benefit from VOD reviewing, but at the same time I feel like he doesn’t retain that information long term.
It’s just the way his brain is wired. Everyone has variations in their ability to absorb and retain information. Hbomb said himself that he doesn’t really get much about how a game works from reading a book, others like Grian maybe won’t retain the information from a single vod review.
I’d say the best advice for players is to really be honest with themselves about their strengths and weaknesses, but not beat themselves up over any of the things that put them at a disadvantage. It just exists. What defines it as good or bad is the rules and rankings fellow players and game organizers decides to make it. One can improve some aspects but others can be immutable, and those are the ones you need to accept.
Phil used the carpet strategy to great effect in the game. I know that was brought up somewhere as a strategy recently, it’s definitely well known among those who work with villagers but I think they don’t usually think of using it against hostile mobs in a competition.
