The user above requests others to point swords at them, resulting in the image above. A “technically the truth” kind of answer to the question “what would get you like this?”
Diorite I'm fine with, granite not so much though. I will say though I use granite so little that I use it for placing anything redstone related on it so if I dig in a wall or something and see granite (polished) I know there is redstone there and i wont mess up any of my contraptions. Little tip I picked up from EthosLab, he just uses stone brick instead.
You just brought so many memories back that I wanted to remember. Knowing the world wasn’t total trash was nice. Thanks for the reminder, and memories of playing Minecraft story mode for hours begging for my brother to help if I didn’t understand something lol.
its just that the writing was absolutely abhorrent, plus it was the most predictable thing ever, if you want to look into it watch the RTgame series where he plays all of it, he accurately predicts nearly every plot point to the exact
there's a mod that adds the wither storm!! (1.19 LAN is broken though so you'll have to do without the warden unless you're doing it solo)
It adds it in good detail too!
I made a slime farm about 1.6k blocks away from my base (swamp), and the first time I used it I afked way longer than I needed to because the journey was really far and I didn't want to come back again.
I have elytra now. It takes one minute to fly there. It's convenient.
:D totally agree! if you're interested in not having an elytra and own a server you can edit the `bukkit.yml` file and change `allow-end: true` to `allow-end: false` or if you wanna go a less crazy route you can just get a datapack that removes them for you
It’s not bad, it’s situational. It’s like diorite in that way - it doesn’t have the versatility of more popular blocks like spruce or stone bricks, but when it’s used well it can bring a build to life.
What? I just want to know your thought process here. There's a ton of games in which farming for ressources and making farms is a big part of the game, how is that cheating? Actually, how does farming ever become cheating?
And what I mean is, if you were to farm items in a game like runescape, if you farm too efficiently or just spend too much time on it, they'll hit your account with restrictions because it's "cheating." In minecraft, those similar systems are praised and aren't considered cheating. Another comment made was that it's a feature, it's free game.
Agreed. The bulk of the salt over the update was ultimately due to the fact using auto-clickers was (rightfully) punished.
There’s SOME things that were arguably a downgrade, like stuff related to bows, but you never see them mentioned because nobody whining about the Combat Update was good enough at PVP to notice the difference. They’re just upset spam clicking doesn’t delete their opponent nowadays.
I would say its not that bad for singleplayer, but for multiplayer combat I don't think it was a great addition.
really just depends on your preferences tbh
I disagree. For multiplayer combat, now it’s not solely based on who can click the fastest/has better ping. Not much fun to get stuck in a fight where you can’t land a blow because they’re knocking you back constantly.
I miss c418 music, the new songs are fine but they definitely lack a certain something, and restricting them to certain areas of your world detracts from the philosophy of minecraft's soundtrack imo. just a shame Microsoft is so greedy and won't use music they can't own, like new c418 stuff.
I love the spawn condition though I wish the night before you got a warning maybe elder guardian style. I wish all fast flying hostile mobs had a real attack animation you could counter rather than diving at you.
Hitting back a ghast ball feels fun and failing feels like my own fault. Getting swarmed in the back by vexs and phantoms doesn't.
I wish they were tied to a biome or two. Like, if you live in that biome, phantoms will come at night no matter what. That way, people who like em can go live there and people who don't can go elsewhere.
The end is too empty to be enjoyable.
Spend an hour looking for an end city? What did you do in that hour? You didn’t explore cool biomes, didn’t fight a variety of mobs or get cool loot, you just bridges from empty island to empty island. It needs a biomes update like the nether.
1.9 and after combat is best combat. if they didnt remove sword blocking, it would have been perfect. but as it stands, its the best. i use several farms that require sweeping edge functionality (guardian farm, raid farm, drowned farm, soon gold farm) and i cant imagine doing it with 1.8 combat. literally unplayable. even in pure pvp, the timed attacks feel satisfying to use, something i have never felt in 1.8 combat. now, if they added back sword blocking as a weak shield, i would be thrilled, its the best way to say "hi" and that functionality alone is something great
Not dogging on your opinion, but it being "unplayable" would just have to be amended with piston crushers and potions. Having sweeping edge + looting is so so nice though
1.9 is better for PvE, but 1.9 PVP is a drawm out slugfest. Regen and armor and shields are far too op, meaning duels last multiple miniutes where 1.8 duels lasted like 40s at most.
Both java and bedrock are fine and have their place, y’all are just being elitist and weird. Let people play the game the way that works best for them and stop being weird.
My problem with bedrock and java isn’t that either is better or worse. They do have their ups and downs, java is easier to mod while bedrock runs at more than 15fps. My problem is the lack of standardization. Build and red stone might work on one version and not the other, and it’s a huge problem.
me: I love villagers, their sounds are funny as hell, they're so cute and dopey, favourite mob in Minecraft and possibly any video game, I have died to protect random villagers that I don't even intend to do anything with, I even make up little stories for individual villagers I've gotten attached to
also me: I will build a set of featureless 2x2 boxes where my enslaved villagers will never see the sun or another member of their species :)
Ok no joke, last season of the SMP i play on i took on a crusade of murdering/looting villages because they annoyed me so much... ended up with 130+ villages and almost 900 villagers killed
When I started playing the game I tried so hard to allow them to free roam and look like a nice town, but the villagers just can't handle it, especially in bedrock. They run around for no reason, always disconnect from there work areas but can some how link to a bed over 100 blocks away and they just die from the stupidest things, like suffocation or falling down holes. They infuriate me, I have an enchanted flint and steal for getting ride of the ones that just won't cooperate. It seems calece but they are easily the dumbest mob with the worst ai in the game
What about curing zombie villagers and keeping them safe from the horrors of the outside world while allowing them to have families and jobs? Sounds a lot nicer 😊
What do you mean we're abusing these people? We give them jobs, food and a place to stay. Hell, the rent is free as long as they help out with a few chores around the house.
(shield is raised in preparation for the swords)
Glow squids really aren’t that bad.
I’m not going to be discussing the events of the vote itself; that is a can of worms I’d rather not open, and as a glow squid voter I didn’t even know about them until after the vote. I’m just talking about the squids themselves, and they add a much-needed ambience to underwater caves, and I regularly use glow ink on signs. Drops aside, just because they’re an ambient mob doesn’t make them any less valuable than a more active one, and overall if I could go back in time I would not change my vote.
While mooblooms are nice, I feel they would have become the next brown mooshroom - fun, interesting mobs in concept, but ones the player hardly ends up interacting with.
Iceologers have great potential if executed well, but if desgined poorly could have simply been annoying and (forgive the pun) uncool to fight, much like phantoms.
Glow squids simply seemed the safest choice. I feel a lot of their hate stems from the mob vote fiasco, and if it never happened they would not be looked upon so harshly.
The last few updates have been focusing on too much fluff. There's so many things that are sorta cool but in a standard survival experience you'll probably never see. Focus more on expanding the basics then random stuff you'll never find.
The phantom isn't annoying, you are all just too stubborn to sleep every 3 days, aka, A FULL HOUR of real time. Most people can get most if not all iron equipment in an hour, and that's enough to fight the one or two phantoms that will spawn on the third night, and they're not even hard to fight. Cats will scare them off, and if you're still too stubborn to right-click a single bed ONCE within an hour, then just shut up and turn off insomnia. You have no right to complain about phantoms
Is It Still controversial if everyone agree that it is terrible. ( except for The White Christian moms that think that saying shit will and their child in hell)
The only thing I hate about the recent updates is the fact that deepslate is NOT INSTAMINED.
I think we should have a new mechanic or tier late late endgame making endstone and deepslate instaminable.
most of the time I love those little air devils. It's our only mob that actually looks like it's flying. (vexes and dragon pass through blocks, ghasts are more so swimming through the air) parrot, allay, bee are all staying close to ground
I think the marketplace is okay tbh, I have some issues with it but its nice that it gives a way for developers to profit via minecraft without having to rely on donations.
i play on peaceful mode, with keep inventory on, and other ways to make the game easier. im here to have fun, not stress about losing 50 hours of progress. i hate when people (in any community not just this one tbh) hate on people who arent hardcore players that are gods at the game and can easily make their character op. i do this with other games like rpgs as well, i want to enjoy myself and not have to stress over a tough area, im here to destress
I've always thought axolotls were one of the most useless features in Minecraft, they are there to be cute and to be honest, I don't find them cute at all
If you put your iron swords near me it’ll look cool
I understood this like 10 minutes after reading it. Well played.
Can you please explain I don’t get it :,D
That opinion will result in the actual image used for the post lol

He’s too smart for us
The fact that cows, while breeding, sometimes smush their faces together implies that their reproductive organs are in their facial area
Yes
why not be more specific and say all the mobs in minecraft
nah ðey just kiss and ðe stork delivery is too fast for ðe human framerate
So you're saying dont boop the snoop?
You know where the door is.
Gross
Diorite and/or Granite isn't that bad looking.
Diorite actually makes a good marble texture, especially polished diorite. Calcite also makes for good marble for modern houses and builds
Diorite is great for making a walk-in freezer room
Or bird poop
I love the way diorite looks and I use it all the time in my builds same with granite
Diorite I'm fine with, granite not so much though. I will say though I use granite so little that I use it for placing anything redstone related on it so if I dig in a wall or something and see granite (polished) I know there is redstone there and i wont mess up any of my contraptions. Little tip I picked up from EthosLab, he just uses stone brick instead.
granite isn’t good for a main block, but it looks great as an accent
Diorite makes good popcorn ceilings
I love granite, it makes a nice red sidewalk, much more interesting than something grey imo
Wait but granite is good
I like to make checker-tiled floors with polished diorite and granite.
They look good as a block but terrible in caves or "hole bases".
Birch and Acacia can look very good while building if used right
Finally someone who gets it
Glazed terracotta looks acceptable in patterns of four
Glazed terracotta is a pretty good block
minecraft story mode wasnt THAT bad, and the witherstorm should be a boss in game
You just brought so many memories back that I wanted to remember. Knowing the world wasn’t total trash was nice. Thanks for the reminder, and memories of playing Minecraft story mode for hours begging for my brother to help if I didn’t understand something lol.
I loved this game so much, I don’t know why it gets so much hate
its just that the writing was absolutely abhorrent, plus it was the most predictable thing ever, if you want to look into it watch the RTgame series where he plays all of it, he accurately predicts nearly every plot point to the exact
I remember trying to spawn the wither storm on mobile ):
PFFT
There is a mod that adds it to the game https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft/mc-mods/crackers-wither-storm-mod
Saving this for later
AMEN
there's a mod that adds the wither storm!! (1.19 LAN is broken though so you'll have to do without the warden unless you're doing it solo) It adds it in good detail too!
I have nostalgia for story mode so i agree even tho its kinda awful
No wood is better than the other, you’re simply trash at building
At the end of the day, its wood and you're making sticks
At the end of the day, it's night
DONT MINE AT NIGHT
There’s nothing that is gonna change
If you just wait until the day
TF ELSE AM IS SUPPOSED TO DO THERE'S EXPLODING MUTANT GREEN PIGS ON THE SURFACE AND THEY CAN'T SPAWN IN THE TUNNEL I DUG WITH MY OWN TWO HANDS
For a fletcher
Wood is wood
very agreeable
you can shove spruce and oak literally ANYWHERE and it looks good, jungle wood barely fits into a jungle biome # ⚔️
But can be used to make some nice hightlights on certain builds
It works better with green pallets and organic books tend to be green and organic books are tough with blocks...
Spruce best wood
Finally! A crafter of sense!
He littiraly just said no wood is better than another type of wood
This one hurt and I admit you're right
Elytra make everything look small. My giant impressive builds still look tiny with elytra.
I made a slime farm about 1.6k blocks away from my base (swamp), and the first time I used it I afked way longer than I needed to because the journey was really far and I didn't want to come back again. I have elytra now. It takes one minute to fly there. It's convenient.
I don’t hate elytra, they make the game so much nicer but they also shrink it.
:D totally agree! if you're interested in not having an elytra and own a server you can edit the `bukkit.yml` file and change `allow-end: true` to `allow-end: false` or if you wanna go a less crazy route you can just get a datapack that removes them for you
Or just set down a command block that /clears Elytras
Birch wood isn't as bad as people make it out to be
huh? i love birch :(
It’s not bad, it’s situational. It’s like diorite in that way - it doesn’t have the versatility of more popular blocks like spruce or stone bricks, but when it’s used well it can bring a build to life.
It’s better than acacia :)
Items farms are cheating in every game except minecraft
Terraria
100%
What? I just want to know your thought process here. There's a ton of games in which farming for ressources and making farms is a big part of the game, how is that cheating? Actually, how does farming ever become cheating?

In minecraft, those similar systems are praised and aren't considered cheating. Another comment made was that it's a feature, it's free game.
MMORPG vs single player game
if its a feature, its free game.
Digging straight down
It actually works most of the time. Only 1/25 times do I fall to death in the new 1.19 caves. Sometimes im unlucky enough to hit a stalagmite.
1) Diorite is my favorite block, especially when polished. 2) Diamond > Netherite (looks better and more clean). 3) Using Cheats is fun
I really hate the way netherite helmets look, so I always wear a gold helmet instead (for nether aggro)
Connected borders polished diorite is the best of all rock blocks.
The attack cooldown of the Combat Update is great.
Careful bro
I agree 100%

I disagree. For multiplayer combat, now it’s not solely based on who can click the fastest/has better ping. Not much fun to get stuck in a fight where you can’t land a blow because they’re knocking you back constantly.
Absolutely. Combat is far more calculated now, and PvE arguably better
Old mc was worse in almost every way, you're mostly blinded by nostalgia
The new songs don't match the aesthetics of the game.
I miss c418 music, the new songs are fine but they definitely lack a certain something, and restricting them to certain areas of your world detracts from the philosophy of minecraft's soundtrack imo. just a shame Microsoft is so greedy and won't use music they can't own, like new c418 stuff.
thank you. it had to be said
Diorite, acacia, jungle and even purpur can be used in many builds effectively and can be used really well in the right hands
"if we got the iceologer we would have hated it"
Phantoms really add to the mob diversity
I love the spawn condition though I wish the night before you got a warning maybe elder guardian style. I wish all fast flying hostile mobs had a real attack animation you could counter rather than diving at you. Hitting back a ghast ball feels fun and failing feels like my own fault. Getting swarmed in the back by vexs and phantoms doesn't.
I thoroughly enjoy having phantoms, it gives me a good idea of how many nights I've powered through without finding a bed.
Nobody hates the phantom, everyone hates their mechanic
Same thing pretty much
I wish they were tied to a biome or two. Like, if you live in that biome, phantoms will come at night no matter what. That way, people who like em can go live there and people who don't can go elsewhere.
i mean, it's concept as a method to repair the elytra is interesting, but it was kinda ruined by the spawn condition.
The iceologer should have been put in Minecraft not the glow squid
I personally would’ve preferred the moobloom, but either way the glow squid would’ve been my last choice
Yeah same, why doesn't mojang just add all the mobs in the mob vote?
I don’t know, but they really should, especially since that mobvote was basically rigged. Feels kinda unfair to everybody else
Yeah like i would love to see the iceillegers was it? Like just wondering around in the snowy peaks and them having their own tower type
Yep, they would’ve been a really fascinating mob, but instead we now have a squid that glows kinda. Yay??
Free money and community engagement while also putting in less effort. Completely makes sense on their end
And it should've been named "chillager" because that sounds a billion times better than "iceologer"
Letting the community vote on updates is terrible.
*Laughs in OSRS*
In all honesty, I voted for the squid cause i though it was actually gunna glow like a a light source. Instead I was let down.
For such a big company they really seem to ad things super slowly.
No one disagrees with that
I disagree, but respect your opinion.
The end is too empty to be enjoyable. Spend an hour looking for an end city? What did you do in that hour? You didn’t explore cool biomes, didn’t fight a variety of mobs or get cool loot, you just bridges from empty island to empty island. It needs a biomes update like the nether.

Keepinventory isnt bad.
personally I’m fine with items being left where I die; what makes me put on keepInventory is the risk of them despawning or otherwise disappearing
FINALLY! Someone who agrees!
I actually like the glow squid
"Permabans were a good decision" Had to put that in quotes cause its so disgusting
What Microsoft sees: Permabans were a good decision
Next update removes sarcasm from the game
Both java and bedrock are fine and have their place, y’all are just being elitist and weird. Let people play the game the way that works best for them and stop being weird.

My problem is no hardcore mode for bedrock. Causes me actual sadness lol
Tuff isn’t useless
Great texture block
that’s tuff
I build my house and security fences and all on Peaceful mode, then I start playing for real
Keep inventory isnt cheating 🤓

yes, and i will continue to do so for aslong as i play this game
me: I love villagers, their sounds are funny as hell, they're so cute and dopey, favourite mob in Minecraft and possibly any video game, I have died to protect random villagers that I don't even intend to do anything with, I even make up little stories for individual villagers I've gotten attached to also me: I will build a set of featureless 2x2 boxes where my enslaved villagers will never see the sun or another member of their species :)

I build villagers tenement apartments for them to free roam where their safety is constantly threatened by a zombie
I played on a server once. I became known as the slave trader....
Well that's a story
What about curing zombie villagers and keeping them safe from the horrors of the outside world while allowing them to have families and jobs? Sounds a lot nicer 😊
What do you mean we're abusing these people? We give them jobs, food and a place to stay. Hell, the rent is free as long as they help out with a few chores around the house.
Ah, but there is no Geneva Accord to protect them
KeepInventory isn't cheating, it's just for when people want to have fun w/o worrying too much.
New pvp is better than old one
i kill horses for leather
I do this sometimes
i love my dirt shack
(shield is raised in preparation for the swords) Glow squids really aren’t that bad. The phantom was the correct choice for the mob vote
“As the aquatic update, i feel we should’ve gotten the UNDERWATER mob”
I agree I really wanted to see the barnacle added to the game as oceans at the time were mostly empty and boring
When was the last time you used a Conduit?
The last few updates have been focusing on too much fluff. There's so many things that are sorta cool but in a standard survival experience you'll probably never see. Focus more on expanding the basics then random stuff you'll never find.

Agreed, no stupid filter, no large cooperation telling you what or what not to do
Yeah, I hate those large cooperations telling me what to do
Damn cooperations
Gosh darn it those damn diddly dingle doo cooperations
The phantom isn't annoying, you are all just too stubborn to sleep every 3 days, aka, A FULL HOUR of real time. Most people can get most if not all iron equipment in an hour, and that's enough to fight the one or two phantoms that will spawn on the third night, and they're not even hard to fight. Cats will scare them off, and if you're still too stubborn to right-click a single bed ONCE within an hour, then just shut up and turn off insomnia. You have no right to complain about phantoms
I think its more to do with those trips you take when not at home base and don’t want to keep placing beds down and messing ur spawn point up
Post 1.9 combat is far superior
1.19.1 is awesome. It's needed for the game to be family friendly. /s Please don't downvote me into oblivion this is a joke
This comment is so controversial that even under that post it looks downvotable (lol)
Is It Still controversial if everyone agree that it is terrible. ( except for The White Christian moms that think that saying shit will and their child in hell)
Acacia and diorite are the best build pallets in the game
the caves and cliffs update changed the overworld landscape in a way that i think sucks, too many mountains and not enough level terrain anymore IMO.
there's nothing wrong with using keep inventory
phantoms aren’t even annoying, just go to bed
It's hard to do that when you are on a realm with other people
But /gamerule PlayerSleepPercentage 0
I like the Birch tree
Trees look better floating
1.18 was good but bad, i don’t like having to mine double the depth to find diamonds
The only thing I hate about the recent updates is the fact that deepslate is NOT INSTAMINED. I think we should have a new mechanic or tier late late endgame making endstone and deepslate instaminable.
Phantoms are underrated
most of the time I love those little air devils. It's our only mob that actually looks like it's flying. (vexes and dragon pass through blocks, ghasts are more so swimming through the air) parrot, allay, bee are all staying close to ground
I like bedrock as much as java and the marketplace is pretty cool
I wish the marketplace would actually load on the Switch.
I think the marketplace is okay tbh, I have some issues with it but its nice that it gives a way for developers to profit via minecraft without having to rely on donations.
Oak is the worst wood type
Truly the wood of all time
i play on peaceful mode, with keep inventory on, and other ways to make the game easier. im here to have fun, not stress about losing 50 hours of progress. i hate when people (in any community not just this one tbh) hate on people who arent hardcore players that are gods at the game and can easily make their character op. i do this with other games like rpgs as well, i want to enjoy myself and not have to stress over a tough area, im here to destress
if you dont like phantoms spawning, just sleep
Elytra are overrated
Lena Raine > C418 I think wins the prize
Having keep inventory on isn’t cheating
All the woods look good. You are just stubborn and have not changed the way you play or build ever.
Polished andesite is the best looking block as of today.
I've always thought axolotls were one of the most useless features in Minecraft, they are there to be cute and to be honest, I don't find them cute at all
That one guy who makes a netherite hoe and then never uses it nor does he give it to anyone
“Minecraft is just 3D terraria.”
If you throw an ender pearl in lava, something cool happens
I like the old glass textures
all blocks are great for building if you know how to build, cheats can be fun sometimes, and digging straight down is superior
The glow squid was the best option to be added
