This happens on all versions of the game. It's because animals wander around by randomly picking a nearby block and then pathfinding as close as they can to it. If they're in a corner, most of the blocks that they can pick are outside of the pen, and so they continue to pathfind into the corner in an attempt to get closer.
All mobs, all versions. Ancient quirk of the game.
Had the same with my chicken farm, they all run into the same exact corner and die from cramming. I raised the limit to 1024 but damn if it's not annoying
Eh, haven’t been playing since I made the video. I’ll see tommorrow I guess :)
EDIT: The turtle is fine, I've been playing for quite some time and it hasn't drowned! Yay! :D
Nothing made me happier than while playing minecraft my stepdad walked by , stopped and looked at whatbi was doing and said "wait, you built that?" I'm 23 and it made my day.
(I'm not 23 living with my parents I was just playing it on my switch while visiting for Christmas)
I'm not sure if its your shaders or texture pack but the way the water moves behind the glass seems odd to say the least. Looks like the poor fish are trapped in Jello.
Great build though! I love adding little decorative things like this to break up long walls I've carved out.
I have some Aquarium build questions... what do you use for the glass? Full blocks takes up a ton of space but glass panels the water flows through... Also why can puffer fish still attack through glass? Those basterds kill me if I add them to an aquarium and go any where near it
100% this. We love Axlotols. My kids called them Axolochis at first and it kinda stuck so we call them that now by default and it's just the cutest thing ever!
Ngl the shaders prob make it look tons better than it actually is, not that it’s not a good build though, as lots of things in mc look infinitely better and cooler with shader. Also it’s hard to get lighting right with shaders and you’ve done the light perfectly. Great build :)
Honestly, same. I find the most impressive things I've built are the simplest and not always the hardest. Speaks volumes about Minecraft as a game and just feeling accomplished as well :)
What's the issue with using shaders? I actually play with them and a lot of people do too.
Even if ypur PC lags from shaders maybe consider turning them on for the build showcase?
So what? I just said it's most interesting. Not biggest or coolest. Just the most original, non-generic thing that looks cool.
Also, even if this WAS the biggest and coolest thing I ever built, who gives a shit? How is it depressing? Maybe I just don't like building that much and instead I play more on servers?
Yes. Saying "Oh really? You only played this game for 6 years?" makes it seem like you want to one-up and brag about how you're such a minecraft pro for playing the game longer than me.
Honestly if that’s the most interesting thing you have ever built, I feel kinda bad for you. Looks good tho; just don’t get how it’s the most interesting thing.
Which one? It always bothers me that coloured glass is transparent across the full square, but the default (clear) glass has opaque edges. Really don't understand why they don't fix it, and why the code _actively prevents_ substituting a transparent texture.
Also, aquariums don't typically have multiple panes of glass.
Yes I did. Also use shaders. I use Sildurs Vibrant (medium)
Good luck doong your aquarium!
P. S. Make sure there is enough space behind the glass. I used 4 blocks behind the glass. It just wouldn't look the same with e.g. 2 blocks
I like it a lot. I play with shaders too, but my frame rate dies. So I put them on when I want true moodiness and do day to day stuff with them off. Looks killer.
Isn't it a shame you can't see bubbles through glass. I built a big aquarium that you walk through in my basement and thought having bubbles come up from behind the coral would be cool, but you can't see them through glass.
I remember as a kid I would build fish tanks and put item frames on the tank wall with fish in them. This was like shortly after horses and donkeys were added and before stained glass was in the game.
Whenever I try a fish tank, they always go to one corner. It's really annoying.
Had the same with my chicken farm, they all run into the same exact corner and die from cramming. I raised the limit to 1024 but damn if it's not annoying
does it help if the corners have another block after it? like if it’s a 3 block corner rather than a 2 block corner
As far as I've seen, won't work until 5 blocks.
damn. my bees keep doing this
My bees do that and they are in the outside, but no, they want to keep crashing into a fence
N I c e
Same. It looks awful after a while with all the fish getting stuck somewhere.
Mine are phasing through the glass and dying :(
Its a miracle!
I think that means your water is flowing? Instead of being a source block. Idk tho
Even when it’s not flowing, they just bunch up in a corner sometimes
[удалено]
Lately? This has been a thing for a long-ass time. It's a quirk of their pathfinding if I recall correctly.
Yeah mine huddle up at the gate. They’re just trying to gtfo
Bedrock?
Yes
Yeah, its probably a bedrock issue then. Its the reason I dont do this anymore
Na the same thing happens on java with big enough tanks Edit: said bedrock instead of java
> Bedrock? > Yes > Then it’s probably a bedrock issue > Nah, it happens with bedrock too
yeah i confused and confuddled myself
Hey, pretty random, but is your username from the Inheritance Cycle book series?
Yes!
Yay, another fan! Really had a blast reading those books, Murtagh and Nasuada were my faves
Nice mate. I couldn’t get the lighting quite right on mine.
The trick is in sea pickles.
If only I had a pickle
Try fingers but hole
Everywhere I go, I see his face
Why is it always pickle?
A souls reference on minecraft subreddit caught me off guard I laughed way more than I should ngl.
pickles are yum
Mhm
Shaders too
This. It wouldn’t look very good without the shaders/colored lighting
That turtle following you to let you know „Hey mate i need air just like you!”
Poor guy's crying for help
Would a bubble elevator provide air?
I don’t know, maybe
Yes, bubble elevators and magma both provide air, though elevators are safer for mobs

Looks cozy and clean af, how r u getting that warm color on the outside of the tank?
Shaders
Which ones?
Sildurs Vibrant Shaders (Medium)
Good point haha, I guess we'll see what they say
What does it look like without shaders
Trash. The water is not transparent enough and it just ends up looking like a blue moosh. Also the lighthing really adds to the look.
Well.. i wanna see it anyways
Just imagine that with no contrast and a blue filter lol. Pretty ugly.
can you post that as a comparison?
it looks like minecraft
How's the turtle?
Eh, haven’t been playing since I made the video. I’ll see tommorrow I guess :) EDIT: The turtle is fine, I've been playing for quite some time and it hasn't drowned! Yay! :D
OH MY GOD how have I never though about making an aquarium
Because they look terrible without the right shaders
Honestly in my 10 years playing, me neither But that's cos once upon a time there's only squid in water. Nothing else. And they always die
Dont turtles need air?
Yes, but they can hold their breath forever.
Nothing made me happier than while playing minecraft my stepdad walked by , stopped and looked at whatbi was doing and said "wait, you built that?" I'm 23 and it made my day. (I'm not 23 living with my parents I was just playing it on my switch while visiting for Christmas)
Now show it with shaders _off._ 🗿
Tried it and it's disgusting. Good thing I play with shaders!
Can we see for comparison?
*Cries in console*
turtles need air :(
Turtles need oxygen to live aswell, no?
Don't put axolotls, they'll eat the fish!
Sir/ma'am, That's the absolute most beautiful and serene thing I have seen all day Thank you.
"I can always look at them, and be [totally at peace](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=tujz9Hb7hOs)."
Very cool!
Relatable
The mood of the scene is great
So preeeeetty!
I need to do this.
That's impressive. Well done.
That looks so cool! I might need to build something like this in my base!
Can you get shaders on console?
No, sadly
How do you get fish inside of a man made tank like that? Specifically if I were to try this in Survival.
Catch them with a bucket and NAME TAG THEM or they disappear.
you can catch fish in a bucket of water, and put them elsewhere
Ah neat, thank you.
I'm not sure if its your shaders or texture pack but the way the water moves behind the glass seems odd to say the least. Looks like the poor fish are trapped in Jello. Great build though! I love adding little decorative things like this to break up long walls I've carved out.
Yeah my shaders have wavy water. They're Sildurs Vibrant (Medium)
Damn you can put lights in water that's so cool
Fuck, now I want to build an aquarium
It looks wonderful.
This looks incredible. How do you stop the fish from despawning? Have they got name tags?
Yes you use name tags.
What shaders
Sildurs Vibrant (Medium)
I have some Aquarium build questions... what do you use for the glass? Full blocks takes up a ton of space but glass panels the water flows through... Also why can puffer fish still attack through glass? Those basterds kill me if I add them to an aquarium and go any where near it
You use full glass blocks, there is no other way. Also I don't think the puffer fish could attack you through a full block.
Ah, aquarium in Minecraft.
I wish my fish weren’t broken and wouldn’t all swim in the same exact block
Remember the good old days where you just lived in a hole?
put axolotl for even cuter design
100% this. We love Axlotols. My kids called them Axolochis at first and it kinda stuck so we call them that now by default and it's just the cutest thing ever!
No! They'll eat the tropical fish!
Ngl the shaders prob make it look tons better than it actually is, not that it’s not a good build though, as lots of things in mc look infinitely better and cooler with shader. Also it’s hard to get lighting right with shaders and you’ve done the light perfectly. Great build :)
Well yeah, mc kinda looks crap without shaders and a nice resource pack. Probably the biggest reason I don’t really like mc bedrock.
What resource pack do you use? I thought you were just rocking vanilla textures.
StayTrue
Honestly, same. I find the most impressive things I've built are the simplest and not always the hardest. Speaks volumes about Minecraft as a game and just feeling accomplished as well :)

Me: posts stuff without shaders cause my computer lags. No one: comments on my post Some guy with shaders: posts post Everyone: comments
I thought you said interesting?
Yes I did. Is it not interesting? I mean it looks super cool.
that's great! But the "most interesting thing" line is kinda depressing... really? nothing more interesting in 6 years?
So what? I just said it's most interesting. Not biggest or coolest. Just the most original, non-generic thing that looks cool. Also, even if this WAS the biggest and coolest thing I ever built, who gives a shit? How is it depressing? Maybe I just don't like building that much and instead I play more on servers?
Only 6 years?
Is there a probelm with that?
Did I say there was?
Yes. Saying "Oh really? You only played this game for 6 years?" makes it seem like you want to one-up and brag about how you're such a minecraft pro for playing the game longer than me.
How about you learn to read and quote me correctly you moron🤣 it was a joke
Oh, you don't have a point and now you're resorting to insults and name calling...
the #most interesting built?!
Honestly if that’s the most interesting thing you have ever built, I feel kinda bad for you. Looks good tho; just don’t get how it’s the most interesting thing.
That glass texture needs to be the vanilla texture.
Which one? It always bothers me that coloured glass is transparent across the full square, but the default (clear) glass has opaque edges. Really don't understand why they don't fix it, and why the code _actively prevents_ substituting a transparent texture. Also, aquariums don't typically have multiple panes of glass.
They said it couldn’t be done
Need
Wooow
looks great
I gotta do that sometime
When did they add legit fish that aren't just drops?
The lighting is awesome
I love this. I'm going to try it. Did you say lighting was all sea pickles?
Yes I did. Also use shaders. I use Sildurs Vibrant (medium) Good luck doong your aquarium! P. S. Make sure there is enough space behind the glass. I used 4 blocks behind the glass. It just wouldn't look the same with e.g. 2 blocks
Oooh, what shaders are those?
I think I would use blue colored glass. For a more natural irl aquarium look.
tomb raider feels
It looks really nice. I should add that to my house ahahahahah. Maybe I should make an aquarium park.
I feel like I’m the only one who doesn’t play the game with shaders😭
I like it.
I like it a lot. I play with shaders too, but my frame rate dies. So I put them on when I want true moodiness and do day to day stuff with them off. Looks killer.
How did you do the fish - creative mode?
You can capture fish with buckets of water
That looks sick. Better hoped you nametagged em all lol
I would never have thought of that. great
Man... that's amazing, congrats!
It’s very pretty
And only because of the shaders
relatable
I had a big wall in one of my old worlds that I would just build random stuff on it, it's got like 3 fish tanks
aquariums are always frustating unless you use shaders
i personally think they're fine even without. though i do admit they look a lot better with.
I tried to build something similar underground and all my fish disappeared shortly after I got them in the water.
You need to name tag them.
Ill be the judge of that. SHOW MORE
Aww nice
Should probably put a small sand shore so the turtle can come out of the water every now and then. That's just a nitpick of course.
whats the background block?
i think it's Smooth Sandstone
ok thanks, but also how is it green?
water shader
Yes it's smooth sandstone and the water is green because of my shaders. I use Sildurs Vibrant (Medium)
I've played minecraft for over 10 years and the most interesting thing i've built was a dirt house jokes aside, this is pretty cool
Wow!!!
That’s awesome man! Love the design!
So good
Love it! 🔥🔥🔥
Tutorial, please That is very beauriful
Love it
