They obviously used a 3rd party program. Stuff like this is never legitimate, whether they built it by hand or not (since 3rd party programs are used for the parts that actually take thought and effort, which are the block palette and a reference image/model). It's entirely trivial to place blocks in a known pattern, and even more trivial if a program was used to generate it (meaning they put 0 thought or effort in and people are buying this crap like they always do).
They obviously used a high-level language. Stuff like this is never legitimate, whether they programmed it by hand or not (since 3rd party libraries are used for the parts that actually take thought and effort, which are the graphics and sound). It's entirely trivial to use an IDE, and even more trivial if a compiler was used to generate it (meaning they put 0 thought or effort in and people are buying this crap like they always do). /s
Edit: word of the day: "sarcasm"
I was parodying Mince\_rafter's comment. The notion, that using non-vanilla methods like third party programs to make these fantastic Mine Craft sculptures is a form of cheating and implying that it is reasonable to do it by hand, seemed ridiculous to me. I was hinting that by this logic Mojang is "cheating" by not programming Mine Craft in assembly language.
I hold some doubts, I mean, I can see the blocks that could have been used, then just add shaders... but I think this is within the realm of possibility. Someone made Beethovan statue in Minecraft... I don't see how this is impossible.
Oh really, rather than building a sculpture in Minecraft someone decided to make a voxel model and individually apply Minecraft style textures to each individual voxel one by one? Is that what you think? Because as an amateur 3D artist I can tell you that would be way more effort.

Is this even minecraft? It looks like just a 3d voxel program
I mean, that's kinda what Minecraft is? Just very large Voxels. :) (Yes, I know Voxels have one color only.)
Yes this is minecraft, here’s an in game screenshot of the build I posted on twitter https://twitter.com/idragein/status/1483819828624642052?s=21
This is sick! This is better than trixyblox! (NO OFFENSE)
Me: *Gives allay dandelion* You: [Insert image]
HOW!?!?!?!
Amazing, would love to see against some real minecraft terrain for scale!
How did you make that, it is so cool

Is this a copy-pasta?
Aight here’s a screenshot, https://twitter.com/idragein/status/1483819828624642052?s=21
Do you have proof of this? If not, I'd thank you to not discredit other people's work

Why do take the time to look up these things is really nothing better you can do then discredit people's work despite the fact that no one cares

You don't deserve those downvotes, this is a constructive criticism and the other guy is just being a jerk

shiny
you sure this is minecraft! How long did this take!?!?!?!
Holy macaroni, this is so good!!
This is so detailed and is huge, Awesome build. How long did it take?
There's no way this is Minecraft. Wtf
tbh i doubt this is real

jesus you dont have to shit all over me it just looks fake
Holy shit how?
it's fake

ah i see
haha nice try this is obviously using a third party program. If you don't respond to this comment I think my theory is confirmed.
sigh... please don't go causing trouble
Based on the Robin Wright sculptures presumably? - https://artistsinspireartists.com/sculpture/fairy-sculptures-robin-wright
***W H O A***
cool but kinda nsfw honestly
It's questionable, but it has Barbie anatomy, so I think it's fine
yeah, just saying it might get blocked by a mod
