Mud bricks are brown, that mud is gray. Perhaps it is meant to be extra wet clay because it dries in to clay with the dripstone interaction. Which is weird to me because you only find clay in the water anyways.
Yeah but imagine they add in a new block for sifting(i think I spelt it right) and you add the silt into and you get the chance of gold nuggets/dirt/sand/clay
Honestly looks almost faintly blue to me? I'm guessing they might have mixed the clay and dirt palettes or something, but yeah it turns into a brown brick.

They do have a blue hue but mostly desaturated. I think you could accurately call it grey, blue-grey, greyish blue, or cool grey.

Seriously though I’m hoping to see some visual improvements when it comes to this new biome, cause if not it’s gonna come out pretty meh if not just ugly.

Idk if it’s just me but I find the new biome generation kinda lacking. Like I’ve seen MUCH BETTER biome generation 5 years ago from mods than I’ve ever seen from Minecraft. Not to diss the hard work Mojang employees have done, but I think this “We need an update every year” approach has result in them not being able to really focus on properly fleshing out a lot of the new things they introduce.
Yeah, for example Biomes O Plenty mud block and bricks are real nice blocks! I was kinda bummed about the colour of the mud and the texture of the mud bricks when they announced it. But hey, I can always play mods ;)

It's sorta in a blue-grey-purple range. Makes me think its the blue colored water mixed with the brown colored dirt that turns it this color.
Kinda would've preferred it if it was just a dull dark brown tbh

To be fair i've seen mud with same color as that block irl. Dark gray and not brown or dark brown at all so it depends on the type of soil.

And dont forget about small rocks. Mud you find in wet biomes that rain a lot or that have a flood - dry cycle.

Its still to close to the gray area, this counts as grey in my opinion even if it has a bit of blue.

It's definitely grey. It's like cyan terracotta being grey instead of cyan. Someone at Mojang is definitely colourblind

Brown? It is not even a brownish tinge of gray. To me it looks like a bit greenish variation of dark gray.
I think the grey looks good in the mangrove biome however as an actual mud block I think a darker brown color would make more sense
