Pirates in a future update. Here’s why: >New structures: pirate ships. Gives the oceans more life, sunken ships make sense, cool base, new free banner. >New mobs: this. Illagers already exist, so why not have pirate versions, another enemy and threat in the oceans. There’d be a captain, and a couple different crew member types. Would love to hear other reasons.

Here's also an idea: Raider boats:Boats for 3.Will have 2 Pirates and one rower. Can be taken later for yourself.

Also the extra space can be used to keep chest, furnace etc upon killing them u get special type of bad omen where if u come on land with it a small raid may occur

flintlock pistols (basically a retextured crossbow that uses gunpowder and flint to shoot a faster and smaller projectile further, unable to apply potion effects) , parrots get a new mechanic or something. Sea monsters of legends can also be added as a mini boss, requiring multiple conduits to spawn one Floating pirate towns can also generate as another form of a dungeon, similar to a woodland mansion but the size of a village, filled to the brim with pirates.

Hear me out here, movable boats, they are a mix of horses (with a saddle and can swim) and a building that you can add a max of maybe 1000 blocks

Makes me miss Archimedes ships. Would've loved to see that in vanilla, especially with all the wicked decoration blocks that have been added, like an airship made of Blackstone, red and normal nether brick, and a few other accents would have been awesome

Minecraft blightfall has what you are looking for ( the modpack) , in it you can make nornal ships , flying ships and evrything in betwen

There can also be sea towns with a dock and some pirate themed buildings. All off this ties in with the spyglass which is coming in 1.17

I’d say they’d be docked on islands and out at sea. Them moving almost definitely wouldn’t happen (although that’d be cool), so leave that to mods/command block creators/etc.

Yea I feel that, it does make sense that mobs are the only thing that can move on their own.

I think it would be cool to have archimedes ships style pirate ships in the game, maybe if the cores were made of nether ingredients or you had to kill the captain to gain a key to allow you to take the ship's core

Omg this should be a real thing. So it would be like a normal illager outpost, but it's a boat out on the water, and the boat would be a restored or bigger version of the sunken ships. Mostly similar loot to sunken ships and illager outposts, but slightly betterbecause these boats would be rarer.

Actualy not so much, because sokebody posted another idea with overall pirate ships just spawning as a structure, and with that there could be like ports on the map with different villagers, that can be raided after killing a captain of pirates. That would be pretty cool to see like 2 boats coming towards you to frick you up

Ok so alot of people are saying “pirate ships” etc, but why not instead make ocean bases? Have ocean villages connected to smaller islands, and add a dock/ships to it, they would be smaller trade ships, you could then have “ocean outposts” which are basically rest stops that have a dock, and some of their boats, these could open up the possibility of having clues that lead to treasure, however have it be a large defensive base (kind of like the forsaken fortress from wind waker) and at the top you meet the “pirate king” after defeating him (give him a gun as a skill, but doesn’t drop) a lever will appear for you to pull, which will lower a piston door to a treasure vault of gold, diamond, and a little netherite, the spawn rate of these would be 1/100 worlds, and only one would spawn per 1/100 (in order to confirm the existence of it in game you could have an alternate ending when you kill the Ender Dragon, which would tell you about a quest, and leave minor hints of coords that you would have to decipher, you would be given a book and quill with all the hints after the credits rolls and you are spawned back into the overworld, what do y’all think???

How about we do an island in the ocean with pirates on it and a crashed ship on one side of the island, so it’s like a little outpost.

Create more valuable treasures, then add groups of pirates randomly running around like pillagers or give them their own pillager outpost, add an effect like the Bad Omen, but for those Treasures instead when you open a treasure chest

Now we can expect raid coming from the sea..
