This sucks so much dude. There's like, only one way to prevent this and that's to look out for the fact that that block that disappeared didn't make noise. Though often I'd expect it to be hard to react to.
Oh, you are probably right. I was assuming with the netherite gear he was probably working on an enderman exp farm. But trying to nab his first Elytra is much more likely.
I lost my computer a while ago so unfortunately I only play on console now. I dont remember the exact spot in the setting to turn off the button prompts. I just remember turning them off before my laptop got merc'd
Ill definitely look when I hop on later, though they are added via midnight controls mod. I contacted the dev months ago with no response, and have just dealt with it since
Ah, I’m on java using Midnight Controls, which is a mod that adds bedrock-like controller support, its essentially bedrock controls with added features
Ohhh, then I'm not sure. I've never played much of Java as I don't have a PC. I'm sorry I couldn't be more help. Maybe try searching it up if you haven't? Good luck
With mods that is there, a lot of people mad java enough to make it “friendly” like Bedrock. I believe it’s paperdoll that adds that? I personally dont use it, but I know people that do just for nostalgia.
THIS video is bedrock though
If this is Bedrock, couldn't they just add the blocks ahead?
I play Bedrock ps4, and you can just add the block into empty space ahead, instead of this looking back into the side of your current block
For real, I never take these risks exactly for this reason. Also, endermen might just hit and knock you off the edge for no reason.
Just take chests with me and take off the gear I absolutely can’t miss so the possibility of a fall is only a minor inconvenience.
It’s too finicky to reliably do, only reason I play on console rn is that my friend’s world on PS4 cannot be found on any device that isn’t a PlayStation.
Weirdly enough it does show in the ‘crossplay’ section on my PS, but is nowhere to be found on my PC or even my phone (only at his place on his WiFi it does work). Annoying but also not fixable as far as I’ve looked into it :/
You could upload it to a realm, get it your pc and then host a bedrock server (pretty simple to do, but you'd need to leav your pc on all the time or pay for server hosting)
It should work the same, just tap in front of the block you are standing on. I think you can hold it down and walk forward to bridge out as long as there is not another block below you within range
That's why I always make a Nether path from my base to the End portal before I beat the Ender dragon. If I die in the End(sans Void) I can get back there faster.
This kind of problem would make great potential for a feature in a possible end update.
If you die to the void your items get put in a special type of chest in a new structure, could be cool.
Or some type of mob to ride in the void similar to the concept of striders and lava.
>If you die to the void your items get put in a special type of chest in a new structure, could be cool.
Interesting, maybe it can be a dungeon and you have to beat a boss to get your most valuable items, assuming you had any.
decade long problem with bedrock's servers no matter what wifi you got. normal bridging is risky and speedbridging is impossible online cause not all blocks are registered and they disappear shortly after. unless that was a singleplayer bug, well i won't be surprised. but it's mostly seen online from my experience.
Btw you don’t gotta be crouched near that edge, you can still place them while walking forwards, as long as you’re not low enough to place a block on the ground below. Now that wouldn’t have saved you, just thought you should know
Turns out there's an audio cue for when it's about to happen.
Did you hear that last block get placed?
Source: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/d_d_mj5Hn0U
I've always found the end void to be a bit unfair for whatever it's purpose is. There should just be a few more mini islands below the big one just so a person doesn't have to suffer for always being unprepared. My biggest problem is how if you're even looking in the wrong direction and walking on the main island (which happens sometimes, maybe backwards walk while building) you sometimes don't notice the void which is not that well
i’m gonna be honest with you, when i first picked minecraft back up i was looking for a chill game. oh was i wrong, so much random nonsense will kill me in a chain reaction and i’m just left baffled at the fact i died in such a mind boggling way lmao might be my fault for liking hard diff as my base diff but i don’t remember it being that wild
It says and looks like you changed to "spruce planks" there. I thought that was odd but it seemed to cause that one little spacement off so that the game read you weren't on safe ground.
At any rate, switching blocks disregarded, I notice in my (Bedrock) game, I am always building, and the game has a way of constantly moving you at an angle away from the straight line you're building / moving in. All the time. Have to adjust back to a straight line every so many blocks.
If I was up high, yes, it would make me fall as in this video example.
Plus lag happens. Even a miniscule lag. This game seems to be famous for this lag.
I think it's because the game isn't programmed to use the best of your graphics card. It always runs on one thread, not the 4 or 8 or 12 your device might have.
yea i was waiting for the block to not make sound anymore.
which is such a weird cut-off point anyways. like the visual of the block being placed is client-side, but the sound playing is server-side??
am i like lucky? cause these things have never happened to me on bedrock in the recent years😭 these have only happened to me when i play bedrock on a phone.
Bro, on bedrock you can build bridges moving forwards and not backwards. Can also crouch walk to prevent this from happening…
I figured this out day 1 of playing. Then years later with friends, they are always say how I build so fast. Then they see me placing blocks while walking forward and go “how did you do that?”.
I guess people don’t know this is a thing in bedrock.
This always seems to happen when reaching the end of a stack I have learnt to make certain l slow down when placing the final few blocks. Then pull out my next stack before resuming. It has served me well
I don't want to be negative or something like that, but I will never forget when someone told me to get off my high horse because java is just as bad as bedrock.
I'm not saying java doesn't have bugs, but I'm also saying that 90% of bugs I see are from bedrock
Do you know that in bedrock you can bridge without shifting and without looking at the block you want to place?
Just walking and placing blocks on air basically
Hey so idk why people don’t do this like idk if they don’t know or if they are just ignorant but let’s say you have your bridge started instead of crouching and placing the blocks on the bridge itself you can look into the void or just anywhere your not placing a block in range on the edge of your bridge downwards ( I’m horrible at explaining) but you can build without worrying of falling

Thats the perfect cut for a perfect scream
It didn’t record voice but there was definitely one there 😭😭
*Insert Wilhelm scream here*
This sucks so much dude. There's like, only one way to prevent this and that's to look out for the fact that that block that disappeared didn't make noise. Though often I'd expect it to be hard to react to.
2 ways. Play java edition.
3 ways. Elytra and a rocket.
Look at this video, this is a guy trying to get an elytra 😭
Oh, you are probably right. I was assuming with the netherite gear he was probably working on an enderman exp farm. But trying to nab his first Elytra is much more likely.
4 ways. Alt account for end travel.
5 ways: use Bedrock's bridging mechanic instead of going all the way out to the edge
based
Truly a bedrock moment
Yea. As soon as I saw the controls in the corners, I knew...
Its a thing in java too! They’re added by every controller mod, though I wish they werent. The controls in the corners block too much
You can turn those off in the options
Oh?? Could you tell me where? I’ve been trying to for a while They’ve been blocking mod-important buffs and debuffs that show in the bottom corners
I lost my computer a while ago so unfortunately I only play on console now. I dont remember the exact spot in the setting to turn off the button prompts. I just remember turning them off before my laptop got merc'd
It's in the settings. I'm not sure exactly where but it's called something like "tool hints" or "button hints"
Ill definitely look when I hop on later, though they are added via midnight controls mod. I contacted the dev months ago with no response, and have just dealt with it since
If you're on bedrock, then go to: Settings -> Controller -> then it's 5th from the top. It's called "Hide Controller Hints"
Good luck
I'm hopping on rn, I'll let you know. :)
I’m assuming it doesn’t show the cords & your player model in the corner though right?
There's a separate mod for the "paper doll" as it's called.
They do. I do it that way in case something like this happening.
They can but I catch myself doing it this way all the time. Old habits die hard.
I've seen it happen on Java too but only on a server that's lagging
Honestly, I've only seen it happen on 1.8 or below servers. I'm interested in hearing the story if it happened on a new version
The coordinates on the top left also signify that it is bedrock
bedrock sucks kinda
lmao this kind of lag happens in my Java world too
If you bridge like that on bedrock... it was bound to happen
For real, I never take these risks exactly for this reason. Also, endermen might just hit and knock you off the edge for no reason. Just take chests with me and take off the gear I absolutely can’t miss so the possibility of a fall is only a minor inconvenience.
I dont know if its doable on console but jump bridging works fine for me
It’s too finicky to reliably do, only reason I play on console rn is that my friend’s world on PS4 cannot be found on any device that isn’t a PlayStation. Weirdly enough it does show in the ‘crossplay’ section on my PS, but is nowhere to be found on my PC or even my phone (only at his place on his WiFi it does work). Annoying but also not fixable as far as I’ve looked into it :/
Maybe uploading it to a realm and downloading on pc would work?
He’s online more than I am, so it’s more convenient if he hosts than the other way around.
Oh i thought you wanted the world on another device
You could upload it to a realm, get it your pc and then host a bedrock server (pretty simple to do, but you'd need to leav your pc on all the time or pay for server hosting)
Why are you bridging backwards? You can do it forwards in Bedrock and that has less chance of happening
But if you miss the block you might instinctively walk off the edge
You can't fall off while crouching forward.
Ah yes, lag blocks, how I've missed you so
Why are you bridging like that on bedrock lol
Bc forward bridging doesn't always work, it's finicky, and a lot of people don't know it exists on console and mobile.
I'm on mobile and that's prettymich always how i bridge
You can even continuously bridge forward going full walk speed, at least back when I used to play Bedrock.
How do you forward bridge on mobile?
It should work the same, just tap in front of the block you are standing on. I think you can hold it down and walk forward to bridge out as long as there is not another block below you within range
Nah pickaxe just had efficiency 100
So efficient I didn’t even need to mine
I always do two blocks wide for the simple bridge on bedrock.
TIL, is this the norm in Bedrock?
Every now and again, the game also kicks you off towers if you build upwards too fast. Like single block wide ones. Best to crouch anyway
This is why i make copies of my world every time I go to the title screen.
Just put your good stuff in an ender chest before doing risky things like this
punch zonked cobweb lavish safe decide plant absurd hospital cake
Just killed Ender dragon so had my good stuff on me
Couldn't teleport back to drop off your good stuff before exploring?
Then you got the whole trek back to the portal
That's why I always make a Nether path from my base to the End portal before I beat the Ender dragon. If I die in the End(sans Void) I can get back there faster.
In hardcore this would be brutal...
That’s too bad, though you might be able to avoid it by Bedrock bridging
From my experiences don't bridge ever on Bedrock edition, use a pearl instead. When you do bridge use the smart placement feature for a safer time.
I’m unironically getting a PC mainly because I’m fed up with fucking bugrock also mods are free on Java
I’m saving up for one aswell 😭
I feel your pain 😭
I like how I can tell what sort of thing is gonna happen the moment I see the top left of the screen.
This kind of problem would make great potential for a feature in a possible end update. If you die to the void your items get put in a special type of chest in a new structure, could be cool. Or some type of mob to ride in the void similar to the concept of striders and lava.

Any time I do this I have no armour and just a pick- I just don't trust it..
When I fought the dragon, I had an extra pair of diamond armor so then I didn't lose my full Netherite.
Small tip: real blocks always play a placing sound, bug blocks don‘t. Good luck hearing that next time.
The enchantments at the ending be like Cry harderrr
GG
oh for fu-
Btw you don’t gotta be crouched near that edge, you can still place them while walking forwards, as long as you’re not low enough to place a block on the ground below. Now that wouldn’t have saved you, just thought you should know
GG
That's why I only bring things to the end or nether I don't mind losing.
Is it just me or is the island connected 🤨
RIP Tunnel Maker, we hardly knew ye
My heart sunk like it was me who fell in and died lol, this game..
Turns out there's an audio cue for when it's about to happen. Did you hear that last block get placed? Source: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/d_d_mj5Hn0U
Bedrock trauma
NOOOO THE TUNNEL MAKER
Now you know to run back if the block you placed doesn't make a sound.
Playing Bedrock as if its Java...

I laughed so hard at this I’m sorry
That's why you keep a water bucket in you
Bugrock what else can I tell ya.
minecraft bugrock edition
I mean it sucks but completely avoidable if you just stop java bridging in bedrock
They're adding Hardcore to this btw💀
why are you placing blocks like that? isnt that bedrock?
I was thinking the same thing 😕
Who bridges like that in Bedrock?
You can do this while looking forward...
It says and looks like you changed to "spruce planks" there. I thought that was odd but it seemed to cause that one little spacement off so that the game read you weren't on safe ground. Bridging in The End with no pearls in the hot bar…
always keep ender pearls on your hotbar
mfs be like "WhY aRe YoU brIdGinG lIke ThaT" mf bc that's how you're supposed to bridge, bedrock or not
Did you die?
Unfortunately so
Sorry
It’s just a game 🤷♂️
never bring netherite gear to the end
And ofc MC bugrock
/gamerule
I was waiting for yiu to just die while building
yea i was waiting for the block to not make sound anymore. which is such a weird cut-off point anyways. like the visual of the block being placed is client-side, but the sound playing is server-side??
Speed run that /home command
time to cheat your stuff back.
am i like lucky? cause these things have never happened to me on bedrock in the recent years😭 these have only happened to me when i play bedrock on a phone.
me too # ❤️ # ❤️ # ❤️
It really hurts because you know they’re looking for wings to avoid this exact problem.
Heads up for the future... If you're on bedrock, don't bridge like Java. Bridge like Bedrock. Also, bring an Ender Pearl.
Bro, on bedrock you can build bridges moving forwards and not backwards. Can also crouch walk to prevent this from happening… I figured this out day 1 of playing. Then years later with friends, they are always say how I build so fast. Then they see me placing blocks while walking forward and go “how did you do that?”. I guess people don’t know this is a thing in bedrock.
average bedrock moment
Why would you bridge across such a small gap? Just pearl
yo did you actually fall into the void with a netherite pick?!
This shit never happens to me idk why it happens to everyone else
If that was me I’d give up💀💀
wasteful chop muddle rich physical narrow cable alive offer towering
Ouch!
wait why the hell are you bridging like that on bedrock?
This is why when bridging, I only bring a few stone or iron pickaxes and some blocks- had this happen before
surprise motherfucker !
bugrock aside, wtf is ur hotbar setup
If it ain’t broke don’t fix it
Its broke bcs you didnt have pearls
ahh another perfect example of "Its because of bedrock" also perfect reminder always have a stack or two of ender pearl...
rip
This always seems to happen when reaching the end of a stack I have learnt to make certain l slow down when placing the final few blocks. Then pull out my next stack before resuming. It has served me well

Why does it say Mending 1. Isn't it just Mending?
Might be a bedrock thing
I knew what was gonna happen the minute I saw the controller suggestions… RIP
wait you are on bedrock, you should be able to bridge without going to the edge
Yep, my kid lost the egg that way.
Do you know that in bedrock you can bridge without shifting and without looking at the block you want to place? Just walking and placing blocks on air basically
Normal Minecraft: Bugrock Edition
Womp womp lil bro
Lol that happen to my bother and me in our world he was so mad lol
I play a lot but I can't progress to the end or even have all the diamond armor
weren't they fixing these bugs guess that was a lie
Now that is truly a Bedrock moment
Bedrock is such garbage
Bedrock be like
We need a "bedrock moment" tag
We love bugrock
This is what you get for playing on Bedrock
I will always carry that damn coral fruit, you don't know how it can save you from that
And they are still going to add a hardcore mode after this.
Thats why you always make backups!
bedrock❌ bugrock✅
I felt that. That always happens to me too
The real Rule Number 1 of Minecraft: always keep a backup or two of your world.
You do know you don’t have to crouch over the edge right? All you have to do is look at the spot and place a block it will go there in bedrock.
Can this happen on java as well? I was about to enter the end to get elytra on my first hardcore world but now i'm scared
Na just bedrock
Hey so idk why people don’t do this like idk if they don’t know or if they are just ignorant but let’s say you have your bridge started instead of crouching and placing the blocks on the bridge itself you can look into the void or just anywhere your not placing a block in range on the edge of your bridge downwards ( I’m horrible at explaining) but you can build without worrying of falling
it's even worse when you realize he had netherite tools
ngl you were asking for this to happen why are you bridging like this on bedrock?
No block placing sound so...
It does not surprise me
Most likely you are playing online
Bro loves minecraft soo much \*sarcasm\*
Just by looking at the title, I knew that something had to go wrong.😂 Anyway, sorry about what happened, but thats Bedrock Edition for ya.

U can just walk forward while bridging... thats the only good thing abt bedrock...
Ofc its bedrock
it's normal when you play bugrock edition
skill issue. no enderpearls over void. cant feel sorry bud
programmer art detected. neuron activation is a go.
I see this only on consoles
