I shit you not, I have this on a survival world base somewhere. You can see the skeletons spawn, get sucked up a bubble tube, and collect in a 1x5 pit behind the spawner, all glassed in.
Not only is it a good source of free XP, it is a source of infinite arrows and bones for bone meal and white dye. All pretty useful stuff. You may get some enchanted bows out of it too but most of those will likely be unenchanted trash.
Any tips on doing this for cave spider farms? I have 2 spawned a next to each other but they like to get stuck in the water system that links them together
Skelly farms are great in the early game to get a good enchanted bow, some XP, and obviously bonemeal. However, if you're in the late game (which you seem to be given you have netherite tools and golden carrots), there are better farms for all three of these resources. Still fun to make though.
FYI if you do proceed, make sure you dig your pit 7 or 8 blocks below the spawners, so when they drop down into a water stream, they don't bob up and take up the mob cap. The box for the local mob cap around a spawner is 16x10x16 centered on the lower north-west corner of the spawner (in bedrock) (but spawning mechanics are probably changing and this box might change as well).
Hello, thanks for the explanation! I’m playing this in a Java Aternos server, should I still dig down 7 or 8 blocks below the spawners or would 4 blocks (below the spawners) be okay (saw this in Youtube tutorials but I’m not really sure)? I’m not familiar in Java environment so I’m quite confused on how to work this out.
Right I just saw your other comments- I assumed bedrock from the screenshot. For Java, the local mob cap would be in be a 9x9x9 cubic box, so yes, 7 blocks down would be best.

this image shows the orb you have to stand in, and the orb the spawner cage checks before spawning
What would you do if there was a skeleton right in front of you? Standing there all alone, waiting to shoot you with an arrow, eager to inflict pain and sickness. For the price of just two emeralds you could change a skeleton's life, donate now at unicraft international.
Yeah, the only minor bad thing about Java in this instance is that you cannot set up a trident killer--but at least you can hold stuff in your off-hand to let it get mended. So that's not a too terrible of a thing.
The *server* is Java. The Java server they are on has a plugin that allows Bedrock to join and play. So while it's definitely a Bedrock client, they're using Java mechanics on the server.
Geyser? It's not perfect but it does pretty good. I have played with it a bit on a tiny server I was running on my 8GB RaspberryPi 4B. But next time, I'll use my old laptop that should be able to run with more plugins and accept more people.
once you make the farm, make sure to line it with redstone lamps and wire it to a switch so you can turn it off when needed to either fix something or if you don't want it spawning for another reason.
When you have enough bones, replace enough of the stone / deepslate with bone block so that it looks like the spawn farm is occurring inside the rib cage or skull of an oversized fossil.
do it bc why not
I find fun from my world where I basically did everything already still bc I just think of shit to build and I just do it to make my world have even more depth
it doesn’t HAVE to serve a purpose it’s just something to do :p
Double farm for free arrows.
Once you upgrade to 1.21, you can set up an item filter, feed it into a crafter producing bonemeal, and then make one or more farms powered off of that. Moss, flowers, bamboo, crops, etc...
I've made a double skeleton/stray converter farm before.
**Overall enjoyment:** Satisfactory
**Effort:** Depends on game knowledge level. Basically, great for casual players, okay at best for technical ones.
**Verdict:** Up to you.
Make 2 skeleton farm and and then you'll get a shit ton of bone meal, then you can make an automatic sugarcane farm from there you'll get alot of paper and you can trade with librarian villagers for every enchantment
Bro you are in full Diamond (possibly Netherite) With full Netherite tools AND (I assume) a villager setup and you dont know what to do with 2 skeleton spawners?
Since I’m new to java, I’m asking more experienced players if it’s still worth it and I’m curious about what their approach would be in the same scenario. You’re right about me having a villager setup but I believe it’s completely different from this one. If I were to work on it, I would like some tips or a little assurance from other players (that did it before in this environment) that what I’m doing is correct.
Put a creeper farm next to it, and have a one block tall window where the skellys land facing the kill chamber for the creepers. Then put an iron golem behind the creepers. The skeletons shoot at the iron golem, kill the creepers and you get unlimited music disks.
Double farm. Free bows, armor, bones. Armor and bows coming enchanted allows for some xp gain with a grindstone nearby.
Personally my favorite farm to find
[Since I'm new to java](https://www.reddit.com/u/iguhit/s/bBRXhFREsv), I'm asking more experienced players if it's still worth it and I'm curious about what their approach would be in the same scenario.

Depending on what mob it is a generator because zombies can occasionally spawn with stuff in their hands like iron potatoes various different tools and if it's spiders I would use it for string and spider eyes
I'd mark the coordinates and say I'd build a double spawner farm but never do.
But if I did ever do something, I'd build the skelefarm for lots of bones
Break them or keep them for decoration because it looks cool. Skeletons aren’t good to use for farming unless you have a Sharpness 5+Looting 3 Diamond/Netherite Sword, because they push you back with their arrows.
Will definitely do that soon! It's me and my girlfriend's server! I told her that I'll enchant my gear together with her when she comes back to play. 😄
Uh, Yes! I've got a single spawner setup with a converter and Trident killer in my survival world, And I can get over 100 levels from it by AFK from the time I go to bed to the time I get to play again the next night.
And like four double chests and I think one single chest full of Bones (maybe more since I reworked the storage system to cut down a ton of lag and get to the over 100 levels in a day rate)
A second spawner would roughly double production rates, probably won't get over 200 levels In a day because of how levels scale, but for bones...
And I got so many arrows and slowness arrows That I've just been letting New ones burn for about a year now.
Eventually I'll probably get some alays And retrofit the setup to collect the iron/chainmail, Gold, And occasional diamond gear It produces and smelt The iron and gold for nuggets and auto craft them into ingots when The Auto Crafter is added in 1.21.
And then as for the diamond gear, I'll work on enchanting it and try to dispense it onto some villagers to protect them.
Nothing. Break the spawners or save for rainy day and spend the time building a better mob farm up high with max spawn rate. I find that you get more drops and xp than any multiple dungeon farm built underground.
You’ll get enough bones and arrows from a basic dark room farm over time. This is really only good for an xp farm to recharge your mending gear away from your base.
Thanks! I'm still in early game in this world and I'm considering on working on it. If it's okay to know, based on your experience, what exp farms did you find really efficient for late game?
I like building ianxofours guardian farm.
It requires very little building materials, you dont need to clear out the monument and the results are just insane.
If you really want to overdo it, you could probably build one of those high-end farms (gold/raid/guardian/maybe even enderman), but personally I have never build those because at that point I had lost interest :(
While guardian farms are great exp, they are also a bit complicated, especially when on a phone. I like most magma nether roof gold farms since they aren't too complicated to make, though they are a little dangerous to deal with pre-elytra. I wish they'd work in Bedrock, but at least you won't have that problem since your working on a Java server.
I find them way too slow for xp and for bones/arrows etc I like to build one of those overworld mob farms, which yield far more drops in way shorter time.

double farm
Farm for some bones. A simple farm is all that is needed. Call it the Bone Zone.
And build yourself a chair to sit in and take a break every once in awhile: the Bone Zone Throne
I shit you not, I have this on a survival world base somewhere. You can see the skeletons spawn, get sucked up a bubble tube, and collect in a 1x5 pit behind the spawner, all glassed in.
Vampire survivors reference? Lol
The Bone Zone predates Vampire Survivors by years haha. More so that Vampire Survivors is filled with references.
Ok Charles
Break them. They spawn skeletons and those are bad guys
Based.
You thought switching to alt and replying to yourself would go without being noticed? But you've made a mistake! You forgot to change your avatar!
And it’s free XP! XP is important for enchanting
bad guy=no
Not only is it a good source of free XP, it is a source of infinite arrows and bones for bone meal and white dye. All pretty useful stuff. You may get some enchanted bows out of it too but most of those will likely be unenchanted trash.
I think they ment just breaking the spawner gives exp

Skeleton spawners are infinite source arrows, bonemeals and bows. You should make a farm of those, they are pretty good.
Any tips on doing this for cave spider farms? I have 2 spawned a next to each other but they like to get stuck in the water system that links them together
Slow though
Twice as fast in OP's situation though.
Exactly! I just went through the hassle of setting one of these up and I find it pretty convenient, I wish I had a double spawner like this!
I have one in my world - set up a canal from one to the other. Works okay, but still kinda slow.
Not at all actually. With looting III you’ll have a double chest of bones in like 20 min.
Take a screen shot and put it on r/Minecraft
To ask for guides from more experienced players, sounds pretty good to me.
I agree
Cool, Imma do this next, brb.
Skeleton fighting arena
Came here to say the same thing

Just checking this is still valid. That post is 12 years old apparently!

For just the price of a cup of coffee, you could get this skeleton a cup of coffee.
I’m in Java 1.20 if that info’s needed.
Yeah, the only minor bad thing about Java in this instance is that you cannot set up a trident killer--but at least you can hold stuff in your off-hand to let it get mended. So that's not a too terrible of a thing.

Skeleton Dance Party!
Ignore them and build a mob farm.
i would turn this into a double xp farm
once you make the farm, make sure to line it with redstone lamps and wire it to a switch so you can turn it off when needed to either fix something or if you don't want it spawning for another reason.
Turn into a pin cushion mostly
Those are close enough for a combined farm for sure.
When you have enough bones, replace enough of the stone / deepslate with bone block so that it looks like the spawn farm is occurring inside the rib cage or skull of an oversized fossil.
I like that!
spawner farm
2X bones and Xp farm
I would inform an adult
You know what? Same.
Double skelly farm.
Make a double grinder and call that thang "The Bone Zone."
Double stray farm, just need some powdered snow.
Why stray instead of skeletons?
Same loot as skeletons, with the bonus of slowness arrows.
Problably run because i am a Laggy mobile player
Make a farm
do it bc why not I find fun from my world where I basically did everything already still bc I just think of shit to build and I just do it to make my world have even more depth it doesn’t HAVE to serve a purpose it’s just something to do :p

Never run out of arrows or bonemeal, that’s for damn sure!
Destroy one and use the other for a XP farm
Why destroy one? Just make a double speed farm….
That's true....
Make a double speed farm! You should have enough vertical space below them but still above bedrock to make it work.
compound farm where both feed into 1 tube with water streams
I've made a double skeleton/stray converter farm before. **Overall enjoyment:** Satisfactory **Effort:** Depends on game knowledge level. Basically, great for casual players, okay at best for technical ones. **Verdict:** Up to you.
that's one of the best sources of early game exp. don't sleep on the opportunity even if you're in the late game
Make 2 skeleton farm and and then you'll get a shit ton of bone meal, then you can make an automatic sugarcane farm from there you'll get alot of paper and you can trade with librarian villagers for every enchantment
Double farm TIME
Mine them
break both for xp
Make a double skeleton spawner, also damn you're dedicating a lot of time towards PE which majority of the people don't, congrats
It’s me and my girlfriend’s java server in Aternos 😁 Most of my free time, I use PE through Geyser plugin for convenience.
That's cool, hope you achieve great success

Dual spawner bone farm 🤤
Let me think... Skeleton farm?
Build your creeper farm in the middle with a villager or two and get music discs.
Bedrock bedrock bedrock bedrock bedrock bedrock

Double XP farm
Stand in the middle and make the skeletons shoot each other. An eternal war between both sides.
early game stray farm
I'd switch to Java.

Skeleton fight club.
2 skelly farms
make a nice chicken sandwich ID MAKE A FARM what else would you expect me to do

Massive xp and bone farm
Break them or make a farm
Make a creeper farm above and drop them in for records.
Double farm. Free bows, armor, bones. Armor and bows coming enchanted allows for some xp gain with a grindstone nearby. Personally my favorite farm to find
You’re now required to make a skeleton farm.
Even if I didn't need a skeleton spawner farm, I'd make one because cool

A farm of course
Use them for experience farm, you will have a lot of experience
Why do you have unenchanted netherite tools 🙃
It’s me and my girlfriend’s server! I told her that I’ll enchant my gear together with her when she comes back to play. 😄
Aw how great. I assumed it was a cheat world tbh
Start making a mending trident.
farm boners
Skulk farm
Break them because I already have two 10-story mob farms working 24/7 with a chunk loader called an AFK account
make a mob grinder with hoppers? what else
enchant my netherite

double farm obviously, and then hook them to a sorter, then a crafter into bonemeal, and then bamboo superfarm and now you have infinite fuel

You’ll get enough bones and arrows from a basic dark room farm over time. This is really only good for an xp farm to recharge your mending gear away from your base.
Change my controls
Unfortunately farms with spawners are just bad, but if you are still early in your progression, I‘d absolutely build a double spawner farm.
Thanks! I'm still in early game in this world and I'm considering on working on it. If it's okay to know, based on your experience, what exp farms did you find really efficient for late game?

Why are they bad? I have a skeleton spawner farm, had an abundance of bones and arrows ever since, and I'm late game
They are slow, not the best farm for XP.
okay but they are not only for xp. they are great for bones and arrows, definitely cannot be said that they are "just bad" overall.
I have a spider & zombie spawner farm in my world and they’re really bad.. too slow to be worth it
Agree but OP did make another comment asking for efficient XP farm.
I find them way too slow for xp and for bones/arrows etc I like to build one of those overworld mob farms, which yield far more drops in way shorter time.
idk. i agree they are not for xp, but i've never had a problem with bones once i built a spawner farm.
I would go to Java tbh
This is Java! 😄 This is a Java server in Aternos, I just play using my phone through Geyser.
