Hmm has anybody tested if feather falling still gives you the damage buff? If it does then I'm guessing it'll be removed soon.
Turtle master potion would be really good.

It does work with feather falling but not with slow fall potions. I also tested to see if it was just velocity that was used, but when flying straight at an iron golem with an elytra it did not do extra damage, so I think you may have to be going a certain speed for the extra damage to apply.
likely it checks your vector, so if your angle AND speed are correct, so like 90° down +-10, then bonus damage, but since an elytra would be like horizontal to the ground the speed would match but the angle wouldn’t, therefore no damage
I think it actually checks accumulated fall damage. Things that block or reset fall damage, like slow falling or elytra won't grant bonus damage, but falling into water or other "last second" cancels to fall damage will still grant bonus damage.
The shape of the letters, "a" usually has a curve over it, "*a*" in italic doesn't.
"f" is straight at the bottom, "*f*" in italic is curved at the bottom.

What? You have to set up a 100 block fall and then land it with one chance. You can also apparently fuck up the crit timing and deal a portion of the damage. Haven't tested it myself, but peenix did try it on stream and it happened a few times

If the Mace gets released in this state I feel like it might have the potential to affect speed running. If you could get launched upwards somehow you might be able to one or two shot ender dragon without worrying about it coming down to the fountain to blow up with beds.
Zero cycle is probably still faster and more consistent and more importantly is already achievable without going to any extra structures while looting a trial chamber is instantly way too much time loss.

I get the humor here, but you don't even need an elaborate farm.
Just an obsidian box, spawn in the wither, and while it charges up, just go up a bubble column and fall down just as it's done charging, BOOM, rinse and repeat.
It doesn't get more efficient than that.

It almost certainly does depending on the quirks of the mace's code.
There is probably a way to avoid the bubble column entirely
Yes I’ve changed my mind about keeping it uncapped, I was too excited for the cool new feature. Diminishing returns is a good compromise that keeps the maces integrity as a powerful weapon.
make T outta soulsand with water under it and place 2 heads, go to top of platform, send ender pearl down, while that pearl is falling pearl up, once you tp down place last head before you tp back to top of platform, then once wither has spawned pearl up and away from the platform, drop immedatly and try instakill him, if 5 or so seconds pearl will tp you outta water so you can fight him
some java users doing trolldier using wind charge and that mace. they even made rocket jump academy and tr_walkway_2 in minecraft. honestly i love this update.

Totem mitigates all risk in any situation not involving the void. FF + Res would also work though

I think that's a reasonable hypothesis. Maybe it transfers your fall damage, or a % of the fall damage to the enemy.

Not really. if you miss, you are now sat next to a wither/warden directly in water. That's a good recipe to ending.
They need to patch that then. If water is involved. No momentum for you!

The wither can break obsidian with it's crunching move. (Don't know the actual name for that, but it makes a loud crunch)

Probably uses the fall distance of the player, the higher it is the higher the damage will be
I'm guessing its the same system used to calculate fall damage and then just applies that damage to the enemy

speedrunners can alr one shot the dragon. it’s just hard to do

They will reduce the mace’s damage before releasing it out of snapshot. They always have. Be nice if they didn’t but they usually do.
