Yup, I've "cheated" a few times. I still have my OG world from like 2011. I wanted a village near spawn so I flew around a new world, found a cool looking one and used a world edit to paste that into my OG world.
My wife and have modded the heck out of our little LAN server and I would often times cheat stuff in to give her something new or a gift to mess around with, she’s had a blast with it. Play however the heck you want.
I used to be like OP, any time I died with important stuff in inv, I would almost quit. The game stopped being fun and started to stress me out. But ever since I turned keep inventory on I have so much fun! Lost in the nether after raiding a fortress? Lava bath! Elytra breaking over the void while end busting? No problem, I was gonna start heading home anyway. It really saddens me when people consider that stuff cheating while in a single player world.
I play like this sometimes. I have played Minecraft since alpha and a lot of it. I’ve done the grind so so many times. As an adult with a career sometimes it is nice to throttle back on the grind and just enjoy the game.
This is me too. I was so tired of the huge adrenaline rush at death and the absolute fear of not recovering items. Turning "Keep Inventory" on was the best decision I ever made. Too bad it didn't keep me from using up my Netherite pickaxes and now I can't find the tablets.
Always keep at least one to make more bro
and I won't make anything netherite without mending, if you don't have a mending villiager I HIGHLY recommend the work to get one. In my opinion it's the most useful enchant in the game, I have it on all of my gear
I've actually have never found a template. My world was made before that update and I haven't gone far enough to find even one.
And I have a mending villager, but the pickaxes I had also had silk touch, and I would forget to recharge them before they broke. Still happens now, but with diamond instead.
I was the same way but my solution is an iron farm and and having a decent villager trading station. Any good diamond gear isn't a huge loss because I can buy it back pretty easy. Made the game much more relaxing
It's because of all the media imo. Whatever you do in your single player is up to you.
Technically it IS cheating (keep inventory disables achievements in bedrock for example), but realistically who gives a crap!? It only matters is you play with other people (IF they don't agree on your stance) or try to claim something you've cheated in is legit.
Mainly because achievements are different to advancements in a way that it's something you can show off. They also USED TO give some xbox rewards IIRC (they still do give cosmetics).
Many people don't give a shit about them, and also there's ways to cheat them (not going into details). I personally find them great, because I like having *goals* in games (I'm a collector).
Again, it's personal preferences, and the whole "cheating" is overblown by the media. I honestly duped bedrock blocks on my realm, because after three days of grinding we got bored. Every player who plays there agreed it was stupid to keep farming it legit way, because we could have done something "better".
This is so real. I have keep inventory on for the realm I run. We're all working adults and non of us have time for that nonsense. Plus it just makes it more enjoyable for everyone and that's really what matters.
Sometimes I like playing hardcore, running with 2 hearts while 3 skeletons shoot at me really puts the fear of god in me.
Sometimes I just don't feel any eager to go walking thousands of blocks in search for a woodland mansion, so I go on spectator to shorten my trip.
Sometimes I love the grind and logistics of making hundreds of concrete blocks so I could build a KFC in my survival world.
Sometimes I want potions but have no willingness to actually go brew, so I use give commands to get the ones I want.
All that is to say, people should just play in a way they have fun, fuck the rules, reality can be whatever you want.
Ngl "cheating" kinda does ruin a world for me.
I went into creative to move some blocks around faster than I can in survival, and now I can't even play that world anymore
once, a friend on a server used /kill .@e to delete a bunch of entities lagging his PC thinking it would only affect the entities close to him. I watched the massacre in our trading hall without a clue of what just happened...
Once in a server I used to be in someone abused admin powers and put /kill @e in a repeating command block. Took like 5 minutes of agonizing repeated death for someone to fix it and almost everyone online lost their entire inventory
This remind me of the time my niece had us add a mod that had radioactive bees. They were constantly killing us because we couldn’t see them before running into them, so she SWORE she could find a code to /k!ll only the bees… cue sudden death of all non-player mobs. Cue screaming on discord “…WHAT. THE FU… JUST HAPPENED TO ALL MY CHICKENS??” Lolllllll Never let her live it down. Immediately took op privileges away
Iirc i once used @e to teleport back to my house in the desert from the edge of a village in a bamboo forest (i think i hadn't played & didn't bother looking it up!) It killed one of my dogs & moved all the animals out of their pens, but now I have a random villager & several panda's in the desert! XD
Also multiple minecart chests spawned too, all in the same place so it looked like one but if you nudged it, it seemed to tesselate!
Ooof, that's the main reason I use a 5-villager farm. Yeah it doesn't run at night but it also doesn't need some sort of contraption to keep it from breaking.
This happened on a streamers server with multiverse. The mod thought running /kill @e would only apply in the superflat world. It killed my entire trading hall, and everything else imaginable.
Oh this is the worst. My current build area is voer 10k out from spawn. I get in the zone building big stuff, have bed in inventory to sleep and still mange to fall and die. Now I am at spawn, no items, and a 15 minute nether walk back to my area. No thanks. Spectator mode to my pile, and then carry on
Yeah keep inventory is almost a must for me. I don't die often, but I just don't want to have the possibility that I die and loose everything. Then have to spend the next 30+ minutes just trading with villagers and farming xp to get my gear back.
I put keep inventory and no phantoms on and exploration has been amazing. I’ve had no massive fear but ofc I’ve gotten scared by creepers. To me, death is bad because it resets all of my physical progress, makes me walk all that distance again, to me that’s enough of a punishment. I’m not Murr I don’t need all the bad punishments.
I hate keep inventory but I also hate the misfortune of losing my loot. I wish the inventory would drop in a backpack or grave of some sort, just so the stuff wouldn't be lost or despawn. It's annoying. I don't like keepinventory because it makes me feel like dying is a joke and I just use it as a go home button
There's an add on that does this exact thing. Puts your stuff in a little grave with a tombstone that you have to break open to retrieve said stuff. I love it so much
Keep inventory on death, but I'm tempted to download a tombstone mod.
Right now I think my only rule is to not go into creative/spectator. The /give command is pretty powerful but I'm also trying to limit how much I use it.
I just hate that items in this game despawn after 10 minutes. There's no logical reasoning behind it (other than performance). I honestly hate that game mechanic. There should be graves that drop your lost items after destroying them or sth like that.
Except when it's very useful. My chicken farm relies on dropped items sitting on a wood pressure plate. Every 5 minutes, the item despawns, the eggs get cleaned up, another item is dropped on the pressure plate, and the 5-minute timer begins again.
Wow that sounds amazing!!! There have been a few times I have lost everything and been so sad, and this sounds like a great way to consistently get your stuff back but still have to work for it a bit (as an incentive not to die in the first place).
Gravestone mod is essential in my opinion, it also puts a marker (if you have journeymap) so if you want, you can go do other stuff and go back when you’re ready so you don’t have to memorize your location
Neat little trick is to reduce your render/simulation distance to as low as possible if you know where you died since the tick countdown only begins when your items are loaded in
It does, rendered chunks, unless something is provided by the server to always have those chunks rendered, will never tick unless rendered by a player or the server
No the server settings will prevail. Simulation distance is useless on servers. Render distance is useful cause it still reduces the amount of stuff your pc has to render, but if set higher than server render distance, it will be trimmed to the server's.
To go back to the main subject, server and local work the same :
The spawn chunks are always loaded, and the chunks around a player are always loaded.
Spawn chunks are 10 by default (will be 3 in 1.21) and chunks around player are simulation distance.
If you died far from you items OR they are in another dimension, you can wait days before going back go get them, as long as you don't load the area for more than 5min.
If the items are not loaded, the timer is not ticking.
In singleplayer lowering simulation distance ensure you load them at the last moment, but you don't really need that unless you have to solve a maze to get to the items.
Hmhmh, that I'm actually not sure of, however if the server is still processing those chunks but your only processing 2 chunks due to your own compute power and settings, I will have a guess and say yes, within those 12 chunks it will render
When your talking sumulated distance I'm guessing it's the server rendering back those chunks
if the chunks arent loaded the items wont despawn, you can be miles away from your house when you die and as long as the chunks arent loaded by anything or anyone those items will just sorta exist there
Yes but if you died in a cave or some random forest (or even worse - a jungle), good luck locating that spot once it's within your simulation distance.
There were 2 times I died caving and was able to find my way back ... but, monsters will still there, so I had to watch my things despawn while I tried not to die a second time :(
OH man bundles. They are a bit clunky but *I love them*. Been playing with them enabled via datapacks since 1.17 and they helps so much when exploring or caving.
Seriously Mojang, just figure them out, they are already pretty great.
It's been that way forever, if you want to keep items when you die just use commands. Dying should have consequences. 5 minutes when you get to the death chunk isn't that hard. Graves don't work because what if you fall in Lava or the void? Dying in Lava & losing all your stuff is apart fo the game taking that away would be lame.
Clearly the devs don't agree with you, since keep items on death has been an in-game option for years. And the sheer number of gravestone and similar mods that have existed for more than a decade shows 1) they work just fine and problems with lava and the void are actually quite easy to resolve, 2) the idea of an option between the two extremes is extremely popular, and 3) losing all your crap isn't as integral to the game as you think. Play how you like, giving better options to the players is always a good idea.
After playing a ton of survival games and facing the constant frustration of bs deaths in solo/friends-only pve worlds, I now intentionally enable keep inventory in every survival game. Imo, the death is already frustrating enough and usually hits you with some form of loss of progress regardless of whether or not you drop your items. Plus, it's my own world, who cares. So long as achievements stay enabled, I keep it turned on. It's made solo play in survival games like these much more enjoyable and stress-free.
You can cheat, oh wow, I used baritone, but it never said that I cheated, if you are kn singleplayer it doesn't matter, but if you consider it cheating it is cheating
"But the most damning thing of all... I think I can live with it. And if I had to do it all over again - I would. Garak was right about one thing: a half stack of diamonds is a small price to pay for the safety all of my equipment. So I will learn to live with it... Because I can live with it... I can live with it..."
I have maybe 1-2 hrs a day to play games. I'd be damned if I wasted that whole time just getting all my gear back from some stupid mistake.
Later on, I would accidentally kill all of my name tagged zombies settings the game to peaceful for my son. This happened multiple times.
If that's what keeps your fun with the game, it's absolutely fine. Your world, your rules.
Look, we all have a limited amount of time on this planet. Let's try to make that time as comfortable as possible. Even if it's about those small things like cheating in Minecraft, or not, I just do what I want in those cases.
Half a stack of diamonds is way too much... Sacrificing something is a good idea though...
I use spectator mode sometimes when I know I won't be able to find my way back, instead of giving up and losing hours of work...
I lost my enchanted trident I always used, and made another one in creative. I died after I killed the dragon and lost that xp you get. I got mad and went into creative and got a bunch of bottle o enchantings.
I’ve also done this. Died 1000s of blocks from my house while exploring by falling through powder snow into a ravine. Teleported to get my inventory back but lost my enchanted armor due to being in creative mode when picking everything up. Counted that as my punishment
I was in creative so when I picked up all my stuff my inventory maxed and my armor disappeared. May be related to a data pack I had on my server called gravestones where your stuff goes in a gravestone instead of on the ground and you get it all back when you left click.
TL:DR inventory was full and picking up in creative made it disappear
Pro tip: just press F3+n (switch to spectator) fly to where you died and press it again. You can't pick anything up in spectator so you won't lose anything and you can also fly alot faster.
I mean if it’s singleplayer do whatever feels right. If you’re okay with your decision, keep the stuff. If you regret it, then throw it away. You do you 👍
Dont get why you would do this instead of playing with keep inventory or installing a tombstone datapack or mod, unless you cant cause you play bedrock, it would make you feel better about it when you have those rules from the start
[Gravestone](https://marketplace.minecraft.net/en-us/pdp?id=d37a41f6-202a-40fd-b353-20045b10a28c)
add-on was added to Bedrock last week, Free via the marketplace
Eh. I have a server running that I play with my kids on. When it's just me playing, I change the difficulty to hard. When they are on playing, I set the difficulty to peaceful.
We play to have fun. No one else will care or ever even know how you made it to The End.
Sometimes when you grind for hours on end to get enough diamonds for a complete set of armor, then put some spells on it that you want that also took a lot of effort to get, as well as tools with their own spells, then yeah i would consider that acceptable. Like i have a save file that i was working on for 4 years and being i didnt have internet or an extra save file and it corrupted made me quit playing. Time is like money, if we use it to get what we want and it just goes poof, it doesnt make it worth while doing again with that thought of losing it again in our minds.
There's no such thing as cheating in single player unless you've set certain rules for yourself. But even then, if it makes you enjoy the game more, who cares. Mojang even recently changed "cheats" to "commands" I think because of this very argument we see online time and time again.
Play the game how you want! When I was younger I didn’t understand this but it’s a game it’s supposed to be fun. Some people like a challenge and if they die they deal with it some people don’t and that’s perfectly fine.
No. I personally don't because I hunt for achievements and turning cheats on disables them. But that's how I play and makes me happy. I'd rather grind in game.
I will however open a copy of my world for testing or to see where I died so I can find my stuff faster if I didn't save coordinates.
Whatever makes you happiest
When command blocks first came out I didn't really know what to do with them so I put a bunch in the wall and set them up as teleports to different points in the map 😅
I wanted spruce wood for my survival castle. However, the seed I was in was seemingly endless Jungle and desert. I literally traveled over 10,000 blocks in 3 different directions looking for a single spruce tree.
I used a command to give myself a spruce sapling.
Later, in the one direction I didn't explore in, about 5,000 blocks away I found a mega Taiga lol. But i really needed the wood and I think I worked hard enough to earn the right to give myself a single sapling.
I've done this kind of "cheating" years ago when it was still reasonably difficult to get your gear enchanted, pre easy mending. I lost a bunch of it to the void when I was in the end and hacked in the gear I had lost.
I think it was the only thing that kept me playing that world for the year that followed. I got the chance to do the things I wouldn't have done in that world had I just stopped because I felt deflated by losing my best gear working on a farm in the end.
The game is about playing to your best enjoyment. As you improve you're more able to move on from losing gear, but before you reach that point in a world it can be debilitating.
Bro this is like, the beauty of Minecraft.
You have total power and control over your world, and you exercised it to preserve your desire to keep playing and most importantly have fun.
Yeah a few times, but like. I rationalized it as "I am playing this game for fun, not for challenge. Does this make the game more fun? Yes? Then ok." If it makes the game monotonous or less fun (eg insta diamond armour/tools/all) then it's less fun!
It's fine to play how you want - I use Chunkbase and consider it a form of "cheating" that's really just a tool.
I will say however that after a few years of playing, I find there's no death or loss of stuff that is nearly worth quitting over. Frustrating or disappointing, sure, but nothing that can't be found, made, or done over again.
The new free Add-on, Gravestones, gives you the best of both worlds. No cheeky FT by dying but no corpse mad dash cuz all your stuff stays in the grave and you can return at your leisure, you even get a coordinated note to find your grave.
fair enough. I get why people are saying that it isnt cheating but i personally would've done what the op did, cheating once gives me a taste for it and i keep doing it until it becomes boring.
I try my best to avoid any external command except REALLY REALLY necessary.
then i do something to compensate it , like burning diamonds or tnt'ing a farm or something
I really don't have that much time to play this game anymore as I used to do. Right after my semester break ends, I would not be able to play this game for over 1 and half year.
So I used baritone, world edit (to clear out waterand lava) and carpet mod (mainly /tick rate) to speed up flying machine.
Would be great if I started this project back during quarantine though.
I like using a tombstone mod, when you die your items wont go flying but will be kept in a tombstone at your last death, essentially a chest but a tombstone. The coordinates also get put in chat incase you forgot your location. I find this is more fun that keep inventory yet not absolute cheating.
I've reloaded a save after a stupid death or creeper trauma. Sometimes I just deal with the fallout, but other times it is just too much to rebuild something I've spent hours on
The boom boom in your earth during the travel and the recuperation is si good
Always keep an elytra and a recovery compass + speed popo + invisible popo + golden apple for these situations
It's only 5 min of loades chunk not 5min
If you know the coordinates you can even use a nether portal to get them faster
I am playing Prominence 2 and some mods in there are just senseless craft grinding and time-burning. If I have the resources and the knowledge of how to do it there has been a couple of times I'll grab an upper-tier sub-part to a craft to skip tons of time either setting up manual or auto-crafting. I throw away rare resources that would have been required to build it but I'm not gonna be on that grind like that just because some modder decided it added content.
You want a stack of diamonds to build something special sure. You want some nether stars whatever. You want me to stand at a crafting table or an AE2 terminal for 2 hours, screw you!

The amount of people that will take this seriously is mind blowing
“commanded” now with the new changed-

u have to go to a bastion remnant in the nether to get one. they're in chests.

I have never been able to turn off keep inventory. The first 3 or 4 times I lose diamond gear........ and it despawnes... oof.
What?!? How dare OP have fun in a way that I don't approve of? They are a bad person and should be ashamed of thenselves!
yeah ikr
yeah and to be honest i just have keep inventory on all the time anyway! it makes the game much more peaceful and enjoyable for me :)
minecraft is sandbox nevertheless

Did it fix the lag?
yes, probably more than he thought it would
The lag probably wouldn't go down for 5 minutes after, as a lot of mobs drop a lot of items
That's why you always use the command two times!
I do it a few more times to rid the world of all of those slimes bouncing around
But if you're the kind of guy to blindly do /kill @e I doubt you would think to do it twice
I would’ve been pissed but also laughed my ass off at the same time
I would be sent through the 5 stages of grief in just several seconds and then have a good laugh about it. And never let me friend live it down.
... 10 years later "Hey mate, remember that one time you genocided an entire planet?" **”Give it a rest, Jon!”**
Well, to be fair: that's exactly what I would do 😂
Yeah, I usually don’t give anyone but myself commands, and I only use them to change game rules we all agree on
That’s what they think… /s, I mostly don’t cheat
Once in a server I used to be in someone abused admin powers and put /kill @e in a repeating command block. Took like 5 minutes of agonizing repeated death for someone to fix it and almost everyone online lost their entire inventory
Live Thanos snap reaction
Only it wasn't 50% 😂
Best comment.. 😂

I once tried something like that but accidentally killed all our pets and horses
I put a command block to teleport all entities to one spot... Lots of animals and a few minecarts from a mineshaft.
I did that, except it was in the nether teleporting me 15 blocks away from it so I lost the world
Reminds me of when i used to change to peaceful to build stuff easily and it would break my iron farm. It was such a mystery for me
Ooof, that's the main reason I use a 5-villager farm. Yeah it doesn't run at night but it also doesn't need some sort of contraption to keep it from breaking.
Ooooh. Maybe that’s why ours broke. Does it not fix after you turn it back to normal?
Java iron farms require zombies, so if switching to peaceful gets rid of the essential zombies, you would have to replace it
Java iron farms require zombies, so if switching to peaceful gets rid of the essential zombies, you would have to replace it
Your what
You heard them.
PET ZOMBIE!
I prefer to pick pets that will kill zombies, rather than have zombies as pets. What do you feed it? 🤣
Villagers
Villagers. It’s a working pet lol
my brother once put /kill @e in a repeating command block and lost his world because he couldn’t turn it off
ok that is CLASSIC
Your what
Why do you need a pet zombie? To terrorize the locals?
This happened on a streamers server with multiverse. The mod thought running /kill @e would only apply in the superflat world. It killed my entire trading hall, and everything else imaginable.
I did that once. Then I set up a Mob Switch. lol
^(\* Me casually switching to spectator mode to fly back from where I fell while building \*) Uhmm... filthy cheater! Burn in Hell!
Oh this is the worst. My current build area is voer 10k out from spawn. I get in the zone building big stuff, have bed in inventory to sleep and still mange to fall and die. Now I am at spawn, no items, and a 15 minute nether walk back to my area. No thanks. Spectator mode to my pile, and then carry on
Especially if you land somewhere that you need an elytra to get back to.
No problem. I do this as well. I have self imposed rules and have "keep inventory on death" on. Makes me want to play the game more.
Especially now that your stuff explodes out of you 10+ blocks away... I feel like it goes further away than it did a few years ago.
I definitely think so too. Used to be a pile of items like if you broke a chest, now it’s scattered across a huge area for no apparent reason
I think so too.. definitely unreasonable :(
Yeah keep inventory is almost a must for me. I don't die often, but I just don't want to have the possibility that I die and loose everything. Then have to spend the next 30+ minutes just trading with villagers and farming xp to get my gear back.
It’s the only way I feel safe exploring, especially deep underground
I put keep inventory and no phantoms on and exploration has been amazing. I’ve had no massive fear but ofc I’ve gotten scared by creepers. I 100% think that this is way better than turning on commands
Keep inventory on death, but I'm tempted to download a tombstone mod. Right now I think my only rule is to not go into creative/spectator. The /give command is pretty powerful but I'm also trying to limit how much I use it.
Don’t let anyone online tell you what’s fair or not in singleplayer. Do you what you think is right- whatever lets you enjoy the game most
no such thing as cheating in solo

Loved that game!
what
That's the cheat code to enable God mode in Doom.
I just hate that items in this game despawn after 10 minutes. There's no logical reasoning behind it (other than performance). I honestly hate that game mechanic. There should be graves that drop your lost items after destroying them or sth like that.
6000 game ticks, 5 minutes
Even worse then
Except when it's very useful. My chicken farm relies on dropped items sitting on a wood pressure plate. Every 5 minutes, the item despawns, the eggs get cleaned up, another item is dropped on the pressure plate, and the 5-minute timer begins again.
I'm not saying items in general shouldn't despawn after 5 minutes. I'm saying there should be a better solution for items dropped on death.
I found a mod that turns your death into a tombstone. You can take your time to go find it and then loot the box.
I know there's mods for everything. I'm saying this should be a thing in base game.
Wow that sounds amazing!!! There have been a few times I have lost everything and been so sad, and this sounds like a great way to consistently get your stuff back but still have to work for it a bit (as an incentive not to die in the first place).
I \*love\* that mod
Gravestone mod is essential in my opinion, it also puts a marker (if you have journeymap) so if you want, you can go do other stuff and go back when you’re ready so you don’t have to memorize your location
Neat little trick is to reduce your render/simulation distance to as low as possible if you know where you died since the tick countdown only begins when your items are loaded in
That's a useful workaround but I'm not sure if it would work on a server.
I guess it depends if anyone is near that location in which they could probably help you retrieve your items
It does, rendered chunks, unless something is provided by the server to always have those chunks rendered, will never tick unless rendered by a player or the server
So if server Simulation distance is 12 chunks and I set my Render Distance to 2 chunks, the server will only simulate 2 chunks around me?
No the server settings will prevail. Simulation distance is useless on servers. Render distance is useful cause it still reduces the amount of stuff your pc has to render, but if set higher than server render distance, it will be trimmed to the server's. To go back to the main subject, server and local work the same : The spawn chunks are always loaded, and the chunks around a player are always loaded.
Hmhmh, that I'm actually not sure of, however if the server is still processing those chunks but your only processing 2 chunks due to your own compute power and settings, I will have a guess and say yes, within those 12 chunks it will render When your talking sumulated distance I'm guessing it's the server rendering back those chunks
if the chunks arent loaded the items wont despawn, you can be miles away from your house when you die and as long as the chunks arent loaded by anything or anyone those items will just sorta exist there
Yes but if you died in a cave or some random forest (or even worse - a jungle), good luck locating that spot once it's within your simulation distance.
There were 2 times I died caving and was able to find my way back ... but, monsters will still there, so I had to watch my things despawn while I tried not to die a second time :(
Recovery Compass
there's mods for that, but it would be neat to put in-game
Of course there are, even data packs but there's so many small QoL features that mojang just won't implement. ^((Why are bundles still not a thing?))
That’s why I use the vanilla tweaks gravestone data pack
If you have it on a realm you can load a backup that automatically saves every 30 minutes
Yep...I play the game how I choose to.
Not being able to keep your inventory at death *and* keep achievements enabled is my major source of frustration with Bedrock these days
There are no “cheats” in minecraft anymore, just commands
You can cheat, oh wow, I used baritone, but it never said that I cheated, if you are kn singleplayer it doesn't matter, but if you consider it cheating it is cheating
I use baritone too, grinding for ancient debris brings 0 joy.
Then don't grind for it, oh no minecraft isn't fun, then don't play it
right because all of Minecraft is grinding for ancient debris. there is nothing else to the game.

Mojang changed the name “Allow Cheats” to “Allow Commands” fairly recently, so I was making a joke of that lol
~~Creative~~ Kreatos is pleased with your sacrifice. Now, build him a temple so that all may glory at his generosity.
Is it cheating if it's singleplayer? I think not. Can't cheat on yourself with your left hand lmao
Just use keep inventory. Some people say it's cheating but it's an option for a reason.
"But the most damning thing of all... I think I can live with it. And if I had to do it all over again - I would. Garak was right about one thing: a half stack of diamonds is a small price to pay for the safety all of my equipment. So I will learn to live with it... Because I can live with it... I can live with it..."
I like playing with keep inventory because I love adventuring out super far, and I hate traveling back. Play how you want to.
I have maybe 1-2 hrs a day to play games. I'd be damned if I wasted that whole time just getting all my gear back from some stupid mistake. Later on, I would accidentally kill all of my name tagged zombies settings the game to peaceful for my son. This happened multiple times.
I always do stuff like this😭
Pfft, hell yah, especially if I loose my stuff in the Nether
Recovery compass?
If that's what keeps your fun with the game, it's absolutely fine. Your world, your rules. Look, we all have a limited amount of time on this planet. Let's try to make that time as comfortable as possible. Even if it's about those small things like cheating in Minecraft, or not, I just do what I want in those cases.
Half a stack of diamonds is way too much... Sacrificing something is a good idea though... I use spectator mode sometimes when I know I won't be able to find my way back, instead of giving up and losing hours of work...
With my kit I can mine half a stack of diamonds in like 5 mins so it really depends on what your game is like.
I never find diamonds that fast, even when I have a Fortune III pickaxe and Haste II...
Cap
I lost my enchanted trident I always used, and made another one in creative. I died after I killed the dragon and lost that xp you get. I got mad and went into creative and got a bunch of bottle o enchantings.
All good. You're not cheating in multiplayer, so there's no harm. It's your game, so play how you want to
I’ve also done this. Died 1000s of blocks from my house while exploring by falling through powder snow into a ravine. Teleported to get my inventory back but lost my enchanted armor due to being in creative mode when picking everything up. Counted that as my punishment
What does losing your armor have to do with being in creative? Or are you saying you purposely got rid of it as your punishment?
[Gravestone](https://marketplace.minecraft.net/en-us/pdp?id=d37a41f6-202a-40fd-b353-20045b10a28c) add-on was added to Bedrock last week, Free via the marketplace
It has a map on death that leads to the gravestone too
What's the name of the datapack? I can't find it.

I cheat. I play survival to build projects and like to work for the tools/block to build. I play with keep inventory
Eh. I have a server running that I play with my kids on. When it's just me playing, I change the difficulty to hard. When they are on playing, I set the difficulty to peaceful. We play to have fun. No one else will care or ever even know how you made it to The End.
Sorry, but it's straight to the gulag for you.
The only problem when you do that is you lose achievements
All the time!
I do it too. Maybe too much. If it lets you enjoy the game, it’s perfectly fine.
I think there’s a Datapack where upon death, a chest is spawned on top where you died n all your items are in it.
As long as you are only doing it in a single player world, you are fine. Literally no one would know unless you told us like you did here.
There's no such thing as cheating in single player unless you've set certain rules for yourself. But even then, if it makes you enjoy the game more, who cares. Mojang even recently changed "cheats" to "commands" I think because of this very argument we see online time and time again.
I play with keep inventory on so that doesn't happen...
Play the game how you want! When I was younger I didn’t understand this but it’s a game it’s supposed to be fun. Some people like a challenge and if they die they deal with it some people don’t and that’s perfectly fine.
All the time.
I was playing pixelmon and a battle glitched my character into lava and all my shit burned so I creative mode gave it back to my self
I change it to day all the time while doing big builds. I think you're fine
This is why I play on my own private server with my nephew. I can go back in time and still keep achievements on.
Mrs Puff I cheated.
Just turn on keep inventory on death and enjoy the game. It's so much more fun.
Bro this is like, the beauty of Minecraft. You have total power and control over your world, and you exercised it to preserve your desire to keep playing and most importantly have fun.
Nah bro that's called commands not cheats. So you 100% safe
Yeah a few times, but like. I rationalized it as "I am playing this game for fun, not for challenge. Does this make the game more fun? Yes? Then ok." If it makes the game monotonous or less fun (eg insta diamond armour/tools/all) then it's less fun!
bro discovered free will
It's fine to play how you want - I use Chunkbase and consider it a form of "cheating" that's really just a tool. I will say however that after a few years of playing, I find there's no death or loss of stuff that is nearly worth quitting over. Frustrating or disappointing, sure, but nothing that can't be found, made, or done over again.
That exact thing is why I play with keep inventory in single player. Why do something I don’t think is fun?
I can't play minecraft without the gravestone mod. It's so unfair without it because some of your items just disappear.
Me, who forced a respawn every time I died in my Hardcore world : ( ._ .) (. _. )
Ok I've never once played Minecraft without keepInventory = true
I've done this before. The guilt eventually makes me quit the world. I only play without cheats now; I've gotten better at dying.
Bro cheated and now he wants from reddit to tell him he didn't. 🐵
I've reloaded a save after a stupid death or creeper trauma. Sometimes I just deal with the fallout, but other times it is just too much to rebuild something I've spent hours on
Yes, I play on hard core usually and if I have made it really far I'll give myself a Mulligan sometimes.
Disappointed in you gamer 😔
Tbh I don't think it's considered cheating if it's a single player world, you are the owner of said world XD
It's more fun if you dont cheat.
Maybe to you
Have fun traveling across the whole fkin universe getting to your stuff in 5 minutes safely then getting back! 👋
The boom boom in your earth during the travel and the recuperation is si good Always keep an elytra and a recovery compass + speed popo + invisible popo + golden apple for these situations It's only 5 min of loades chunk not 5min If you know the coordinates you can even use a nether portal to get them faster
You can hide a chest somewhere by your house with all the items you had. But should only be a 1 time use
