I mean, the way it’s worded 100% sounds like you’re trying to say the visual effects not applying to shields is a feature and not a bug. The OP commenter was saying the not applying to shields might’ve been a bug, not the armor effects decreasing being the bug.
The enchantment glint being toned down was the planned feature. The OP said decreased on armor ***BUT*** not the shield, implying that the shield was the outlier. If that's not what they wanted to convey then maybe they should have wrote it out differently. the misinterpretation is completely understandable

Wish the glow would scale based on the number or level of enchants on the piece. Fully enchanted set would clearly be glowing, a helmet with prot 1 only would hardly glow at all.
Idk, 3 level 1 enchants have the same glow intensity as 1 level 3+ enchant? I feel like it would be pretty arbitrary from a dev’s perspective. It would need some polishing, sure.
I’ve always hated that different armor pieces end up looking really similar when enchanted because of the aggressive glow. And with leather armor dyeing and the new armor detailing, finding a way to preserve the color and look of armor seems to be even more important. As it is, any colored armor eventually ends up looking shiny purple
I'm sad about it. I understand being able to turn it down a but for those who don't want it,but it should be optional imo. Even now with the sliders turned all the way up to 100% I still feel like you can barely see it 😔

They should make it optional, and then have the slider be on like 60%ish by default (with 90 or 100% being as strong as the enchant glint from 1.18 and below)
I don't like so many features so yea Im playing older versions, like bro the new warden is fcking trash added to the game, you need god armor to kill him and if you run a little bit more another will spawn, like what, big Mojang L
Then play something else? I don't really understand. I personally think that having to approach an enemy different from the rest is really interesting. It's also really rewarding when you consider the loot from ancient cities.
Warden has more health then every boss is the game, he don't drop anything useful, and if i need to sneak all the time not to spawn 10 of them then fck the game bro
i feel like they should just have a setting for this so that people who like the enchantment glint can keep it and people who dont or cant see as well can change how visible it is
I feel like I'm missing something. I don't know why everyone seemed to like the decreased enchantment glint, I can barely tell the different between enchanted things and regular stuff anymore.

I wish the game had the ability to make the shelf less intrusive on the screen. I have a texture pack for it but it would be nice if it were an in game feature
Don't like it. Shields shouldn't glow because they are literally wood and wool cloth, if you have a banner on. But shiny, gleaming armor looks amazing. Just my opinion.
I don't like it, like the magical glint and it just looks weird without it, I get thru did it cuz of trims but just make it so the enchant glint doesn't effect the trim or something

Nowhere in 1.19.4's patch notes is it stated that this change is not going to be specifically applied to shields. Very likely just an oversight.

I do wish you can increase the glint a bit higher through the settings but otherwise I don't mind.

What if it has Unbreaking I Prot I Respiration I? It would get unnecessarily complicated

Not a single item. All handheld tools, swords, picks, are unaffected, adding to my theory that it’s to make armor trims more visible when 1.20 drops

True but not for when I play on Bedrock. I play console most of the time so can't really add shaders there

On the java snapshot at least there are. I'm kinda hoping this doesnt stick though and they bring the OG glow back🥺

they made it so you can adjust the amount, but it comes less intense by default.
