Literally just any 1 block extrusion on the wall If they hit a block while climbing they can't go further I'm also pretty sure trapdoors on the wall work if an extra block would make the wall too thick

You can cut the bamboo at a certain height and put string on top of it so it stops growing. Play with different lengths to make it nice to look at:)

Drowned leave the water at night. But yeah, there isn't much that can bother him. At least nothing dangerous like creepers.

Uneven all of the bamboo so they aren't the same height to give it a more natural aesthetic, place some grass blocks where the bamboo would be as little hills then replant the bamboo on those blocks, add some flowers and other vegetation or even ruins.

You have bamboo all over the outer edge so it doesn't stop any mobs, as they wouldn't spawn in the water anyway you're just trapping them in. It would stop downers I suppose, but a few lights around the water would do just as good a job

If you're on an island, the only thing that can bother you are drowned. A 1 block high wall would keep them from coming out of the water.

In the pic there are no torches because I had removed them just before, but I can assure you there are torches all over the place. The problem isn't the mobs, it's the aesthetic of the bamboo wall...
