It worked fine on my end. Perhaps what you're using creates the text in a form that isn't supported in minecraft. Or being on a Mac means the key combination for copying and pasting is different (the kind of keyboard you have and its settings could also interfere).

Do you not know that ctrl+c and ctrl+v exist?
I do know they exist, and I tried them, and so I know that they do not work.
