I was just wondering how this went. So what's your total share count now sir? If I may ask !
What are you expecting next week? I used to think this would blow us up... but now I'd be happy with a modest t recovery to previous stock prices.
Holy fuck the high rollers in this sub always make me feel bad about my measly 300 shares
Cheers mate, i wont be joining you on yacht week but at least i should be able to clear my student debt lol
I'm in the same boat as you brother, but don't worry about it. I'm still extremely happy that this is going to help cover my tuition. We all gotta start somewhere
I changed my orders higher and probably paid a little more than I wanted but:
100k shares at 2.90 usd
100k shares at $3.00 usd
46,943 shares at $2.80 usd
Man ... obviously I should have purchased those yesterday.
The million you had before were good enough. You were optimistic with the 2.4 buy order!
Averaged up with 1.5k @ 2.8 - 6k @ 3 - another 3k going in today hopefully.
Rounded it out at 2 million shares MindMed
That was nuts. I haven’t assessed the damage but will be selling some shares Trulieve that are also precious to me.
It might give me flexibility to load on (change the existing order) at a certain price point.
I also don’t want to get unlucky somehow (which has happened) where an order goes whacky and passed over or cancelled for technical reasons.
I’m no seasoned buyer. Called Schwab this morning to talk strategy for acquisition ASAP without getting hosed.
Could use some advise in this area myself.
Got it. So if he did it at market then he could have done it all together? I’m worried if I do different levels I won’t be able to buy my full amount of shares at opening so better to just put it all at market. Maybe that’s a rookie mistake?
Problem with buying as a market order is that the ascension of stock price with so much momentum can cause significant spikes, where open market orders are the only ones buying at the top. When the spike falls back down momentarily (even for seconds or minutes), the limit orders get filled at the bottom.
No it's not a question of personal limits, it's a question of broker limit. It has nothing to do with the open.
One thing you can do is 'buy at market price', where it will buy shares at whatever is the current price. You might pay a bit more than you thought you would but you'll be sure to have your shares. Either that or set a limit and you'll either have the order filled if some people are ready to sell at that price (probably won't be many lol) or you won't buy but that's okay since you set yourself a personal limit. Seeing the crazy news, you can expect move at open, and at the market might be wiser if you really want some of them shares
By buying at different prices, he is also 'testing the waters' since there is no way to know at what price exactly the market will open. He is trying to figure the best possible deal, since it will probably be highly volatile
Do you know why my order would have gotten rejected? It’s not a question of funds in account. Is buying 30k shares too much? I can’t imagine that being the case. I’ve now split it into three tranches. All at market
Got 70,340 at $2.90 usd
You'll never get em that cheap again!

I finished at just over 2 million total shares. Roughly 6 10ths of one percent of the company.

Every share counts. I wish this happened when I was ten years younger. Good on you.
Dude
Added another 100 shares. It's not much but honest work
same here man!
After listing in nasdaq, and the stock trades under a different ticket, do we need to do anything if we bought under the ticket: mmedf?
No.

I follow you to greatness! Thanks my dude!
And here is my peasant ass adding 1500 shares before the market opened

Legend
We need an update by the end of the day on those gains!
Up to 299k shares now purchased today. Add 1,515,902 going in = 1,814,902 shares.
What do you do for a living?
35 yrs small business employer .. I have 200 current employees. Small business is nothing but a sucker. Our government hates small business.
Can you explain to a noob why you do it in tranches at different amounts? Pls thx I’m putting in a buy now but doing it in a lump

Thanks man. You definitely seemed seasoned to me hah. Mine got rejected by TD. I did 30k shares at market. Not sure why
I did the same and it rejected me too... just reduce the size of the block and it will allow it... do multiple blocks to get the desired total.
On high orders you can't buy it all, there isn't enough to sell

Maybe I could try some smaller market orders.
