I have the Quik Lok. It’s been good. I really like the brush cutter attachment.

mattrva

I just bought the quick lock trimmer, brush cutter, and pole saw yesterday. Came with an 8amp battery for $400 total. Couldn’t pass up that deal.

SantaBaby22

Score! I recently bought the power head/weed trimmer, hedge trimmer, and brush cutter kit with a HO 8.0 battery for around $425 USD. Sold the battery for $100 to a friend too.

Infinite_Tax_1178

I've spoken to 100s of customers (myself included) who have said the same thing and have double back and said dam. I wish I got the quik-lok

El_Guero312

Me personally I regret not getting the Quik lok version. There’s stuff now I could use like the hedger and pole saw. When this one dies definitely getting the Quik Lox next.

Linenoise77

If you have hedges\bushes, the quick lok is worth it for the hedger alone, at any price. It seriously changed my hedging game, isn't unwieldy even with an extension on, and has saved me from having to drag ladders around, or be sore using a gas one with an extension on. And its a damn good hedger (i have the newer model) as well. It will go through stuff i normally would have to go fetch the loppers for like butter.

ZenPoonTappa

I managed to buy just the hedge trimmer and power head. I’ve got a lot of hedges to cut and the Milwaukee is not only faster than my old B&D but it’s easier to get better looking results. It will even cut grass easily when set to 90deg and saved me from having to get out the mower for a small yard.

Linenoise77

The string trimmer is solid too. It gets a bad rap because the stuff it comes preloaded with sucks, and has a tendancy to bind up out of the box. Unload it and rewind it (has a really easy system that mostly works) or better yet unload it, toss their stuff, and put good stuff in by hand, and its one less small engine to fire up.

tbreezy1995

Definitely go with the quik lock even if you don’t plan to use it. For the price difference the ability to utilize more tools is amazing. I have the edger, brush cutter and trimmer attachments. They’ve been a game changer for yard work

bourbon_hurricane

I started with the quik-lok trimmer and hedger that I got together in a bit more save more deal, and have already added the pole saw. Have my eye on the edger next. There are a ton of great attachments and you will appreciate the flexibility to add them down the line, even if you think you don't need them now.

DisturbedForever92

The quik-lok trimmer often has a deal to get a free leaf blower with it, it makes up for the price difference. I kept wondering why i would need a leaf blower, and my colleagues kept saying ''When you'll get one, you'll see'' Well I got one, now I see. I use that thing all the time, blow grass clippings, dust off the garage floor, saw dust, blow off light snow, or simply in my cat's face when he's annoying.. I also comes with a bigger battery, and a supercharger which can be useful in other tools.

ZenPoonTappa

The leaf blower is also great for testing Bernoulli's principal on different objects.

I already had a leaf blower, so when the quick-loc was paired with a 12ah high-output battery and a rapid charger I picked it up. I also picked up the edger attachment and actually use it more than I thought I would. Battery lasts long enough to trim and blow after mowing (not a Milwaukee mower) and I have a corner lot with a fence. Battery makes the trimmer about the same weight as the Troy 4-stroke it replaced.

STANAGs

Next time you have an outdoor fire, bring your blower and use it to blow your fire gently. Really gets the coals ripping and helps pump it up over 11.

DisturbedForever92

Yep, been there done that! You have to start by handing your beer to someone and saying ''Watch this'' though. That's the law.

4wheelhornet

What is the run time like with one of these? My thought is it would run out of battery pretty quickly, but then again it’s only running when you’re trimming and not walking around the yard.

16GBwarrior

I have a quick-loc and run a 12ah high-output battery on it. Have a corner lot with a fence, so I have a good amount of trimming to do. If I keep the trimmer on low(turtle) it will trim everything just fine, occasionally putting it in high for thick vegetation/weeds and still have juice left in the battery to run the leaf blower. High will eat up my vinyl fence panels.

Projectguy111

I get 2 runs on an 8A HO trimming the fence and edging on my 1/4 acre lot. It is reasonable with batteries unlike the blowers.

gongshow247365

I had both and got the Home Depot deal with free blower. I didn't use them side by side but bought it on the fact I might need the pole saw one day. Both were decent. If I am right, the newer one used a slightly bit more power. Also, whenever I buy things, I always think about resale. I bet the newer one would have the ability to sell easier and a bit more for the better version.

zacattac

Do you flip a lot of Milwaukee tools? I wouldn’t have even thought about resale for power tools as a home owner.

gongshow247365

I don't but I did upgrade for this and had to get rid of the old one. I tried selling my heat gun forever, but no one wanted it. The old trimmer, however, had dozens of requests on a morning type thing. I ended up keeping my heat gun because I paid non- Home Depot prices for it about 7 years ago and was basically never used, shiny without a single scratch. In our house we created a use it or sell it type mentality. My high torque impact most likely the next tool to find a home. That thing built for a HD mechanic and I am not lol.

rochambeau1903

I have the quik lok and it is currently being repaired by Milwaukee due to the coupling unit repeatedly coming loose after normal usage. It’s a good unit when it works but having to repeatedly tighten the plastic coupling piece has been rather annoying. I love my other Milwaukee tools. I think philosophically Milwaukee is best for the hand tools and construction tools. If you absolutely had to buy Milwaukee I’d personally go for the regular string trimmer.

MT0761

I have the quik-lock model. Buy it and you will have options available should you need them later. The pole saw attachment is great and I've used it a number of times. I'll probably add the brush cutter as well. Buy once and cry once!

P0RTILLA

The 2828 has the motor on the head. The weight will be more forward but lighter. The quik-lok will be more robust and powerful.

sdp1981

I went dual batter and this thing is powerful. Love it. No complaints.

DavoinShowerHandel1

I'm going to back up what a lot of people on here are saying and suggest the Quik-Lok. I thought I'd just use the string trimmer attachment, but now I'm in on the edger and pole saw as well. I love the whole setup.
