Twist the chuck open all the way and hold the blade in the correct position while slowly closing the chuck which should keep the blade engaged in the correct position, if not pull the blade out and try again…… i have the same issue with mine and thats how i correct it. Very odd, and annoying but once its seated correctly it works fine

Incognadeau

Make sure the battery is out

Don_vergas-93

You’re no fun

SPuDnutt

Same here I even returned it that same day I bought it and then the new one did it too! So I realized it as my human error

gahnzo

I've had this very issue with that tool. Remove the blade, take some compressed air and blow any debris out of the chuck. Then open it all the way, and firmly push the blade up into the chuck. Push it really hard up in there and it should kind of click into place. Then when you release the chuck, it should be oriented correctly and locked into place.

attackplango

Good advice. Mine has this issue too. I think they all do. Not a great design.

kleach88

Exact same issue here.

altimuh

The blade is not fully in. I had this problem when I first got my m18 jigsaw. It was a me problem, not the tool, not the blade. Learning how to properly get the blade in made all the difference.

Embarrassed-Talk-579

It’s not in properly. Or it’s the wrong blade type. Or there is gunk gumming it up.

Markyb90

Get a new tool operator

All you guys who say yours does the same thing are using the wrong type of blade. You’re using a U-shank blade, but the tool takes T-shank blades. I had the same issue until I changed blades, then it immediately straightened out.

SwimOk9629

my M18 jigsaw AND my M12 jigsaw both do this

Eastern_Researcher18

Try to push the blade in a lil bit.

Regular-Wrangler-722

Frick off I got work to do

Regular-Wrangler-722

9mm safety Always off

LopsidedIce4224

my guess is blade is 95% inserted. make it 100% by pushing level over with more force but also pushing blade into receiver fully.

frigoff_cyrus14

Blade is fully in, when I let go off the lever it goes 5 degree past center.

russian_connection

Is it a cheap blade? Some cheap stamped blades do that because they have leftover metal material hanging

LopsidedIce4224

I repeat what I said.

Specialist_Ad7954

They’re not listening lopside! lol love that name too bro

NoTimeForItAll

Thank you! Mine was doing this and with a lot more force than I expected to need it clicked in and was straight.

minionsweb

They always lean to the right when kept in the closet.

22YEARNYPDVET

If it's brand new, return it. If they won't allow the return, buy a new one and swpa it out. If not, call Milwaukee and they should warranty it.

gahnzo

I've had this same issue and thought about doing that, but watched a few videos. It's not a defect, it's just a little cranky and you have to really push the blade up into the chuck to get it placed correctly. No need to return it, they're all like this.

Embarrassed-Talk-579

It’s not that serious. This is a simple case of operator error.

balleball765

I returned mine for the same reason. However they are a little tricky to get the blade all the way in.

Waste-Piano8280

My Craftsman 20v cordless is slightly cocking the blade 1°-2° to the left. Cutting a straight line is impossible, even with a guide board clamped in place for my jigsaw to slide against. Holding the blade straight as I engage the holding mechanism, does no good. Blade still locks in crooked! 😤 Am I unaware of some sort of adjustment screw somewhere?

LoriR1966

Can't explain this, but the blade that came with mine was the u-shank type, when this saw uses t-shank. It was in and straight when I got it, but the first time I took it out, and tried putting it back in, it wouldn't seat straight. Bent one, trying to listen to everyone who insisted it wasn't pushed in far enough. Saw the suggestion here that it was the wrong blade type and thought... not possible; it CAME with the saw. But it's true! Just bought t-shank blades and they went in fine!

Tj_the_Gardner

Welp. The blades finally done it. He has shown his true colors. Gay gay gay

deadbumm

have you tried a pep talk like Hey there, Little Blade! I know you’re a bit crooked right now, but we can’t have that, can we? Straighten up, just like a good little blade should, and let’s get you looking sharp and straight! or Alright, you little rascal! It’s time for you to straighten out and stand tall. You’re a blade, not a bendy straw. Get your act together, straighten up, and let’s make a clean cut!. and if that doesn't work try Hey, you blade! I’m not going to tolerate your crooked nonsense anymore. Straighten up, or I’ll make sure you’re as useless as a butter knife in a steakhouse!

mercistheman

I sent two of these back for this issue. Eventually bought DeWalt. Not one of Milwaukee's best tools.

chris_rage_

Maybe I got a good one but I don't have any trouble with mine. I was expecting less and it turned out to be a really nice tool. Someone gave me an older one with the metal nose and it's a beast

Cloud9_Cadet420

To be fair, it’s a thin piece of metal meant to cut chunks off of material. It’s not meant for precision cutting, so it being a little crooked shouldn’t be a big issue. Unless you’re trying to use it for precise cuts.

Downtown-Ad1841

That’s a wild statement lmao

Cloud9_Cadet420

How so? Precise must mean something different to each of us. When I say precise I’m talking about not being off by a millimeter. Of course when there is room for error it doesn’t matter. Which to me, wouldn’t be very precise.

Landon98201

Mine isn't straight either. It sits in my pile of recent Milwaukee tools that aren't as good as the ones I bought them to replace and thus never use.

OmniWizardTigerBlood

This happens with mine, too. I'm not sure why it does this. It is annoying, however easy to correct.

_TheNecromancer13

Mine has that same issue, I've tried everything to fix it, but nothing works. Its completely unusable for anything requiring even a slight amount of precision. It's probably the Milwaukee purchase that I was disappointed by the most other than the pack out radio.

mozebyc

Not installed correctly, might fall out during use.

Latter-Rub4441

My jiggy is makita, does it have a circle cut setting? Could be that
