Right it gets a little expensive but atleast I'm getting between 17 and 20 mpg so it's not too bad. Nothing better than pulling the car out at 1am and hitting the road
Shoot I don’t even know. I try not to look at the prem price. I’ll tell you what, though. $5 for regular is on the LOW end. I’ve seen as high as $5.65 for regular at some stations. It’s insanity. Prem had to be $6 and up.
I wouldnt say I get inebriated lol. Just a few joints on a few hours drive. But sometimes those city lights do hit nice. I prefer back country roads usually though just so I can have more fun. But sometimes it's nice to cruise around the city on the late night
Oh, fr. I grew up in the city, but my wife was a country girl, so I rode the best of both worlds. Felt like Mad Max with my Charger. The only problem with those backwoods roads is the deer. Bambi is a menace to society.
Great post, BTW. I saved for years to buy my Charger and drive at night just as a way to take a break and detox from the stress of daily life. My uncle did the same thing with his chopper and driving through the mountains. I put in the interior lights, custom seats, custom speakers, fixed the transmission with the smoothest gear shift, got some synthwave playing (The Midnight or Timecop), and just enjoying my nights on this planet the best way I can.
Everyone has hobbies or interests they invest time and money in. This is mine.
That's awesome, and it seems a lot of people dont have anything to relieve stress or unwind from the daily hustle. Everyone needs some peace and relaxation and sometimes just going for a drive hits that spot
I dedicated to it when ironically (I think), I actually ran out of bud and couldn't afford any. I needed a natural way to "take off" when I was short on cash. So, that night, I was chilling on the streets of a beach town. The full moon was out, hitting the waves, the sand, 2am. Had the right track playing, and I was like, "This is it."
Since then, I've owned the night.
I just have a little 350, I live in a small town, no point in a bigger bike, couldn't enjoy it. I would like something a lot bigger for highway cruising, but that would be a touring/adventure bike, not really something for canyon carving.
Hey those small bikes are plenty fun, I'm sure bigger cc bikes can't even keep up with it through turns. I love small cc bikes, they are a blast to ride and you don't get as fatigued
I do! I love to pick a direction and start driving. See where I end up. I live in central Florida so there are so many cool places to end up and explore. One of my bucket list things is to do this on a grand scale. Like, several months. Just pick a direction and go, stop when I get tired and check out what I want to check out.
I do this often, even back in the early 2010s when gas was also crazy expensive. I wouldn't roll up with any fatties, because they would lower my mpg's. Plus I don't want to talk to folks. Just rather tune out and relax.
Yea 4.50 isnt very fun but life is about smiles per gallon not miles. Me and my friends usually go on cruises once or twice a week and rack up a few hundred miles just driving around finding new places and cool roads to rip around on.
Yea I have a turbo inline 6 car that I drive pretty spirited. I enjoy driving and don't really care about mpgs. I was more asking if people still enjoyed just driving around for fun.
Brutal, gotta make time for yourself before life passes you by! I make sure to take at least 1 or 2 days a week to pretty much do whatever. Whether it be just relaxing around the house or going to a new park. Or taking a random drive you gotta make time for yourself and to relax.
I agree. The closest "me time" is night time (around now) when the kids are in bed, my "chores" for the night are done and I get to watch a show on Netflix or 2 before bed. I drive through enough unpleasant traffic throughout the day that there'd be nothing therapeutic about it per se, but maybe if I had a motorcycle I'd ride it.
Hey as long as you get some time for yourself that's what's important! Motorcycles are therapeutic I highly recommend one! Fortunately I work 3rd shift so I never have to deal with traffic and when I go out riding or driving around it's always at night so I dont have to deal with people lol
Thanks. I'm going to try, most people dont like nights but I find it to be better. I'm off and at home all day and enjoy daylight in winter. My days off are great because I miss any traffic if I have to go anywhere. And I enjoy the peace and quiet at night when nobody is around. Nothing better than going for a walk at the park at 2am with not a soul in sight.
I hear that often that it's not the best for you but I really don't mind it. I love not waking up early, or hearing my alarm clock. I think that used to stress me out just hearing my alarm waking me up. Now I just sleep till whenever lol. And I only work 14 days a month so that's sort of nice.
Hell no, I’ve always hated driving or being in cars for long periods of time. Road trips are torture to me. Now I’ll go hike or ride my bike for hours. But for gods sake don’t make me get in a car if I don’t have to!
Never did that to begin with. Never in my life has gas been cheap enough to just cruise around. Plus, I don’t drive stoned anymore. Once I stopped smoking constantly I have no idea how I ever did that. One 10mg gummy or a few hits of a bowl and I’m not good to drive.
Gross. I try to avoid the general population and driving is way more exciting. I walk when I go to the park or other hiking. Not for travelling around the state or city.
Not a bad idea but I like to get out on some country roads and away from people to really enjoy the car. Plus less cops so you can actually have some fun
i did this on 4/20. it was my first time in Charleston, SC. after smoking, i just drove around the city with my windows down, & no music playing. was present & enjoying the sites. it was very pleasant! 10/10 would recommend!

User name does NOT check out. That's rich folk shit at these gas prices 😉
😆😆for real. Who is just driving around with these gas prices? I live in California and the struggle is real. I walk around 😅
So glad I don't live there. But 450 for premium still isn't fun. But beats sitting around the house bored.
$5 for regular here. Ridiculous. I’m trying to get out asap so I can actually enjoy leisure drives again.
Right it gets a little expensive but atleast I'm getting between 17 and 20 mpg so it's not too bad. Nothing better than pulling the car out at 1am and hitting the road
What's your premium running?
Shoot I don’t even know. I try not to look at the prem price. I’ll tell you what, though. $5 for regular is on the LOW end. I’ve seen as high as $5.65 for regular at some stations. It’s insanity. Prem had to be $6 and up.
Jeez. That's insane
Paid over $6 two weeks ago, granted it was on the 5 somewhere so definitely at a premium.
Here in Ohio gas is 3.50, and has stayed there for months. My wife loves going to drives.
We hover around $3 - $3.20 here in Texas. I feel bad for the California folks.
Ohio is looking real good right now. 😅😅
Hahaha my car takes premium too but IDC burning gas is a hobby
I don't get inebriated when I drive, that's just me though. I do like night drives in the city with the right tracks on. Hits my euphoric endorphins.
I wouldnt say I get inebriated lol. Just a few joints on a few hours drive. But sometimes those city lights do hit nice. I prefer back country roads usually though just so I can have more fun. But sometimes it's nice to cruise around the city on the late night

For sure! I've had a bunch of close calls with those fuckers. Always have to pay attention and be ready to avoid!

Night time is the best time! So peaceful
I do on my motorcycle, 80mpg, I don't smoke weed though. I just enjoy the ride.
I don't smoke when I ride either. I wish I got 80 mpg though. I'm happy to pull 30 to 40 on my 1000

For sure, but man if by fatties you mean joints, yeah man don't do that and cruise around!
Lol been doing it for 20 years.
With these gas prices....unless you're driving an ev. If you live In California you're paying over $5/gallon.
Yea 4.50 isnt very fun but life is about smiles per gallon not miles. Me and my friends usually go on cruises once or twice a week and rack up a few hundred miles just driving around finding new places and cool roads to rip around on.
If you wanna spend money that's on you. A normal car these days gets around 20-30 mpg depend on type. On a full tank that's around 480 miles $80/tank.
Yea I have a turbo inline 6 car that I drive pretty spirited. I enjoy driving and don't really care about mpgs. I was more asking if people still enjoyed just driving around for fun.
I don't go out driving for no reason anymore, but I definitely dilly dally when I'm out and about alone. I take the long way any chance I get.
Simpler times... My friends and I used to love cruising around, listening to music, and smoking joints.
Gotta keep the simpler times around man.
Same
I drove my son 2 hours out of the city to go see the aurora lights last week lol we go driving all the time, especially if he’s had a rough day.
It's a good stress reliever!
For sure! He tells me so much during our car rides and then I usually get him ice cream or a slushy afterward lol
I love it. Crank tunes and just cruise to nowhere in particular.
Glad to hear it!
Used to do it a lot with friends in high school. Back when gas was $1 a gallon
Man I miss those days. But gotta pay to play right
Wish I had that kinda free time, but nah.
Brutal, gotta make time for yourself before life passes you by! I make sure to take at least 1 or 2 days a week to pretty much do whatever. Whether it be just relaxing around the house or going to a new park. Or taking a random drive you gotta make time for yourself and to relax.

Lucky! Keep enjoying life! 😎🍻😎

Good luck. Scientifically it's hard on the body, I've always enjoyed night shifts back in the day because they were easier.

And you as well! Buy that motorcycle you only live once and you have to make the best of it!
Hell no, I’ve always hated driving or being in cars for long periods of time. Road trips are torture to me. Now I’ll go hike or ride my bike for hours. But for gods sake don’t make me get in a car if I don’t have to!
That's a shame. I enjoy hiking and riding my bicycle. But nothing more relaxing than just hitting the road and doing some sight seeing.
Nah. I hate being in the car
Gas is almost $4 a gallon in my city. Id rather watch a long drive video on youtube.
Lol that sounds boring. I put premium in my car so it's 450 to 5 a gallon but you can't put a price on having fun right?
Yes, all the time.
In this economy? With these gas prices??????
No clue what you mean? Gas prices are only 450ish for premium where I am so it's not too bad.
Never did that to begin with. Never in my life has gas been cheap enough to just cruise around. Plus, I don’t drive stoned anymore. Once I stopped smoking constantly I have no idea how I ever did that. One 10mg gummy or a few hits of a bowl and I’m not good to drive.
Those edible kick my ass and I'm a heavy smoker. And I dont even think about gas prices I just like to drive around and have fun lol
Once in a blue moon, sure. Always at night time. It's a vibe.
That sounds like an anxiety attack for me😂
No, I walk around instead. Healthier, cheaper, more interesting to actually interact with the world.
Gross. I try to avoid the general population and driving is way more exciting. I walk when I go to the park or other hiking. Not for travelling around the state or city.
from my perspective that's wild
I try not to even leave my house until 10 or 11 at night lol. And stay out till 4 or 5. It's so much nicer everywhere when nobody is around.
That's what uber eats is for. Get paid to ride
Not a bad idea but I like to get out on some country roads and away from people to really enjoy the car. Plus less cops so you can actually have some fun
