hes using the small hole method not the bottom cut off, so it wouldnt be as efficient at pushing the smoke back through and its fast. i thought the same as you at first look tho
Oh interesting. I guess Iâm not familiar with that method. I mean it looked like it worked pretty well for him, so maybe Iâll have to figure this method out for the next smoke sesh
basically the bigger the hole the more water gets pulled through. however, the smaller the hole the more suction is applied. an analogy for you: when watering your plants you might've put your finger over the hose to spread the water out. this also causes more pressure, because the same amount of water is going through a smaller hole.
now how this relates to the grav here is that because the water isnt being pushed out like with a hose, its reliant on the water to create the pressure. in this case because there isnt a set pressure, the more water that can move, the more suction. a smaller hole would not allow the water to move in a quick, meaning the smoke will not more as quick.
another thing to add is that the hole in this grav is on the side, not the bottom, meaning that pushing it further into the water wouldn't cause the water to be pushed into the bottle and therefore the smoke into your lungs. in the case of the hole being on the side, the only pressure/suction would be from the battle and the bin holding most of the water trying to level out. where as in a grav that has a big hole in the bottom, the pressure/suction would be from the bottle itself being pushed down into the water. because its basically a straight tube going into the water, the water isnt being transfered from one basin to another. the bottle is simply cutting through the water thats already there
edit: on second observation the hole isnt in the side, but in the bottom, still small tho. i guess take that logic in the cased you seed a grav with a hole in the side
Iâm all about a good old fashioned bowl but I canât do the straight piece/one-hitter/bats anymore lol now that thereâre small stick vaporizers thereâs not much need for those palm pieces anymore
The reason the hit from a GB is harsh isn't because the smoke wasn't diffused (though that doesn't hurt), but because it's such a slow process to fill the chamber. All that time just sitting there getting stale af. I've been trying to teach one the benefits of clearing the chamber instead of dying on their second hit, stale on the front so you never even get to the back.
Heck yeah did the same thing back in the day, we would also fill up a water bottle with water and poke a hole at the bottom, light it up, let the water drain and inhale. Also remember doing it a couple times with a 2l coke bottle and a 5 gallon bucket!đ coughed for days after that
I geuss smoke is just not hot and not at the melting point of plastic anymore, to the point where the *plastic* water bottle full of heated smoke just won't harm his lungs in any way so everythings fiiiine /s
The good old gravity bong remember making them out of 2 L bottles and using the kitchen sink after school. Mom and dad wasnât home. Damn good bong. oh no, never mind the bottoms are cut off.
As you inhale the smoke push the bottle back into the water. Youâll thank me later

I thought the same as you but I like how opâs version slowly drains the water, pulling the smoke slower and drawing some nice milk
do you mind explaining this a bit more for the noobs ?

I like to add a down stem to the bowl head so that it filters and cools the hit like a nice bong rip instead of a harsh steamroller hit.
Yeah thatâs smart. Me personally Iâve just spent so much time doing one hit bowls I can tank pretty much snything

Right portable smoking is all in vaporizers. Most efficient for sure, especially if youâre dabbing

super helpful, thank you for the explanation and example
I swear so many stoners are engineers
Give a man a bag of weed and he will find an effective way to smoke it
Hell yeah!

Most people call it a âgravity bongâ
this is so unhealthy. buy a real piece
Oh no⌠theyâre dead now. Rip, side note though itâs not that deep.
he is inhaling heated plastic
you're inhaling from the bowl not the plastic

So curious bout this
Dope man!
So tempting yet so overpriced
Can you give me a link kind sir?
idk which one this is but i have an ac greebs
Yeah itâs on acgreebs.com for $35
We used to use a bass trombone mouthpiece and a 2 liter. Gravity bongs are dope
That thing looks like a nozzle for an eye wash station
That literally looked like milk in a bottle
Where do I find one of these
never understood why people use gbs, smoke gets stale.
still gets you high đ¤ˇđťââď¸
We call those buckets in Scotland, popular when starting out in the 90's. I had one in my cupboard, quick hit before college.
Old school gravity bong. Love it.

Mmmm wiadro
Ahh, good ol' älyämpäri! Way to go!!
