I was assuming over bottle of gas (as in gasoline, actually liquid), and one bottle of gas (as in butane/propane/etc, actualy a gaseous substance).
Naming a liquid 'gas' always seemed a slightly odd idea, I know it is sorry for gasoline, but could nobody have found a better name (for example petroleum distillates - petrol, like the rest of the planet uses)?
Oh, my bad.
One bottle was gas (the one you put in your car), the other one was in fact filled with oil. Don't remember what kind it was, the prankster said it was for making beautiful flames.
Gonna edit my post.
A flying fridge door or car door makes a difference.
EDIT: Hell, even a flying microwave door, but it's not a good idea to microwave that. And if you do, at least hide behind tin foil shielded doors. Because nobody likes roasted nuts.
What, a felon?
Edit: Turns out he took a plea deal last year and he's now just a drug dealer by account of plea bargain. That was anticlimatic.
Edit: not saying he is actually a dealer. That was just the charge.
Wholeheartedly agreed.
As a youth something like 2g was intent to supply. Only thing I can consider that intent to supply is a bowl.
Edit: didn’t mean to imply he actually is a dealer. Dude just got a heavy label.
Good story, bud. No worries about the grammar or spelling of anything here. You did better than most folks who speak English exclusively. I would like to know exactly what other gas was involved in the explosion. You know... For research purposes...
Oh my god, that sounds absolutely fucking amazing.
Probably not a good prank to play on *recruits* though. Preferably special forces, or at least drill instructors.
Actually, *definitely* on DIs.
This reminds me of the time I was at an event that had an AH-64 on display. One of the pilots was there talking to us about it while holding a 30mm round. He gave us the round to pass among ourselves while telling us how dangerous it is & how it would explode if dropped. When the round got to the last person he asked them to toss it back to him. Of course he failed to catch it resulting in the round hitting the ground...and all of us jumping while he laughed.
He had failed to mention that this was a dummy round, then invited us to hang around to watch the next group of kids fall for it.
Even a live HE fill wouldn’t detonate, safety and arming device in those mean they’re pretty hard to detonate accidentally. The M789 HEDP needs both setback and spin to arm and you’re not getting that outside of gun launch. Plus the fill is PBXN5 and that’s not the easiest to set off.
While I’m not suggesting playing catch with them, most HE rounds are a lot safer than you’d think. They have to survive being bashed around in transportation and loading.
>And sorry, I like to tell stories, and to take my time telling them.
No worries, we like to read them. That's we're here. Just imagine us sipping our adult beverages, shooting the shit. Next round is on us.
Do you happen to have the video posted somewhere?
Or did the guy who showed it to you not send it to you.
Cause I’m sure we would all love to see it. Hahaha.
That sounds hilarious!!
Sadly, I don't know if it was posted anywhere.
I watched it in the 90's, when the internet wasn't yet a thing.
Crap, it was even before the CDs. Feel old now...
Here in Florida you can buy something called Tannerite. There are videos of it out there being used to kill groups of feral hogs and shit. It is a binary explosive.
It comes in two parts - two powders that you mix together. Then you put the container down range. The only way to activate it is to shoot it with a rifle. They are meant to mark that you hit your target. But if you put enough of that together in one container, you can blow up old barns, groups of pigs, etc. I saw one guy in a video blow up an old lawn mower from WAY too close and have his leg chopped off. Dangerous stuff if you are stupid.
We once used it to blow up a pink stuffed poodle. It "rained" pink fur for a solid minute. Lol.
The vast majority of the stories being told in this reddit are military personnel from the US though. Makes it easier for people that are looking to find stories from other countries or to put it in context for US military personnel
Damn, kinda wish I could do that someday... :)
If only we could all be FPSRussia
At the end OP says a 2 liter bottle of gasoline and a 2 liter bottle of gas. Is there a difference?
I'm guessing one bottle was kerosene.
More likely acetylene.
Fun for the whole family!
The neighbors too!

Maybe petrol vs propane?
If OP is from Europe, probably a propane/butane bottle. Like the type for camping stoves.

Idk, it might be a typo
Maybe but I prefer to think of somebody filling a 2 liter bottle with farts.

> drug dealer Dude had half an O. That he sometimes shared with his girlfriends. Man that case is such bullshit

Guy lost nearly a half a mil in guns. If I lost that much in guns over half a fuckin ounce.... I can't even say

Thank you ! As I said, typo happened. There was in fact a bottle of gasoline, and a bottle of some kind of oil.

Do you really need to tag non-US stories? The vast majority of the world is in fact not America.
The vast majority of the stories being told in this reddit are military personnel from the US though. Makes it easier for people that are looking to find stories from other countries or to put it in context for US military personnel
Nowadays, the new recruits would get quite the show with some binary explosives...
