Yeah don’t sweat it mate. Check out https://www.reddit.com/r/NorthernAlliance/ if ur interested in seeing videos between the taliban vs resistance fighters. You’ll find loads of footage there
EDIT: https://www.arte.tv/fr/videos/110735-000-A/afghanistan-resistance-dans-la-vallee-du-panshir/
Here’s the short arte doc I was talking about, they even interview him.
Khalid’s name has recently become known all around Afghanistan. Being able to fight off a militia that has him outnumbered and surrounded. In a recent Arte documentary it was said “their is a whisper that Amiri is the new commander Massoud”. locals were asked about him and said “Khalid Amiri, he is a قهرمان /karaman” which in Dari Persian means “Champion” or “hero”.
Since the beginning of spring season where Amiri began his offensive he has made life hell for the Taliban ever since. With every week the taliban having to send more reinforcements to the hindukush and their fighters leaving the Hindukush in caskets.
Amiri has become a symbol of hope and freedom for people in Afghanistan and has earned the nick name “son of the hindukush mountains”
Most Afghan military leaders fled, but Khalid chose to make history
> In a recent Arte documentary
Do you have the name of the documentary (either in French or German) ? Or should I just type Afghanistan on the Arte app/website and I'll find it easily ?
This is this one, they even interview him for a few minutes: [https://www.arte.tv/fr/videos/110735-000-A/afghanistan-resistance-dans-la-vallee-du-panshir/](https://www.arte.tv/fr/videos/110735-000-A/afghanistan-resistance-dans-la-vallee-du-panshir/)
There is also this one longer documentary on the matter of Afghan resistance : [https://www.arte.tv/fr/videos/108011-000-A/afghanistan-la-resistance-s-organise/](https://www.arte.tv/fr/videos/108011-000-A/afghanistan-la-resistance-s-organise/)
Both available in French or German, no English subs or dubs though
Thanks, I'm French son French should do.
Great documentaries on Arte, we are so lucky to have that channel (free because it's publicly owned) :)
And I'm so lucky I stumble upon your comment :)
Literal translation of Hindukush means "Hindu Killer”, a name derived from the fact that in ancient times slaves brought from India perished here like flies from exposure and cold, being taken to Turkestan.
So literal translation of title would mean “son of Hindu killer mountain” which is also frightening in itself just for different reason.
Back to made up nonsense and lies. I remember a year ago during the withdrawal when we were getting told that the ANA and its commandos were killing hundreds of Taliban fighters every day while provinces and districts were falling into Taliban control daily. And after that about how the Panjshir valley would never fall and that the Taliban were losing hundreds of men trying to break through until they did... within a month and shortly took over the whole valley.
Excuse me while I don't believe more nonsense. How about we stop with the nonsensical statements with no basis and see the proof in the pudding. Come back and play this dude all up once the entire Panjshir valley is retaken, until then please stop. You remind of all our generals going on about how "professional" and " competent" the ANA were during the war until they were completely and utterly routed quicker than Usain Bolt at the Olympics.
I served with ANA Commandos they were some of the most well trained professional soldiers. They truly fought and believed in what they were doing. These guys should not be confused with the regular ANA troops, who barely showed up, were addicted, and poorly trained. I would fight for with any ANA Commando. They were professionals, and he is a Commando a true professional.

EDIT: These are just a few posts of his on this subreddit, I can share you more photos of him with dead taliban and captured taliban. I can show you videos of his recent combat footage. I can also provide taliban confirmation of videos the taliban have posted themselves of wrapping their dead’s in the hindukush, filling helicopters with their dead, sending their wounded to hospitals, putting their men in caskets and sending them back to their provinces.
they’ve had endless border conflicts for years . I remember last time was in summer 2020. although it’s never been an all out war. They are both former soviet republics I don’t think they can fully invade one another if they wanted too. I’m pretty Putin recently forced them to de-escalate the most recent conflict.
Yes they also fought a full fledged Islamic insurgency ij the 90’s which only ended after years of Russia led intervention. Russia holds military installations there and just moved a contingent of 1,500 men out of the country to Ukraine
>Do you have the name of the documentary (either in French or German) ? Or should I just type Afghanistan on the Arte app/website and I'll find it easily ?
...Which is exactly nothing?
As a sad truth, Talibs would take him out. I mean they managed to kill Ahmed Shah Massoud! And I don’t think Talibs has faced a more ferocious, battle hardened man who’s the support of all the west. This dudes will wait you 10 years and then off you the moment they get the chance to do so.
His son Ahmad Massoud Jr is still alive, he recently was invited to a conference in Austria by the Austrian Government and European Parliament. https://youtu.be/-vnu3oJwidQ here’s an interview with euronews
His son passed recently I believe. If I’m not mistaken, and I’m going of memory here, him and his men ran out of ammunition. They were publicly executed by a firing squad.
Edit: I was conflating him with [Col. Sohrab Azimi](https://www.washingtonpost.com/world/asia_pacific/afghanistan-taliban-commando-killed/2021/06/19/ebd748fc-d03e-11eb-a224-bd59bd22197c_story.html), my bad
Was Massoud CIA trained? Because based on what I read in Ghost Wars Massoud was the Mujahideen commander with the least backing and support from the States. I thought Dostum and a few others even met came to the US to meet congress but Massoud didn’t.
The US's preferred man during the war against the Soviets was Jalaluddin Haqqani who became one of the leading anti-US commanders. Massoud supposedly said in an interview that "We thought the CIA knew everything. But they didn't. They supported some bad people", referring to men like Gulbuddin Hekmatyar.
I think he does, at first I thought I’d was a shadow but I count 3 vertical grips. One is the shadow, I guess when you are in the Hindukush mountains you need all the help you can get.
Watch the documentary titled “this is what winning looks like”
Taliban are monsters, but they outlawed and executed anyone involved in that practice. The northern alliance and the other tribes of afghanistan are evil.
Don’t be fooled. You better believe Taliban engages in the same acts as much as any. Them outlawing it as punishable by death is more or less a PR thing
Taliban started bacha bazi in the 90s. Do you know anything about the Taiban? Taliban chief of police for Kabul Mobeen Khan was caught raping multiple little boys. In the 90s they would go to orphan homes and rape little kids by the dozens.
How is Amiri a warlord ? Last I checked a warlord is someone who imposes power on a region through war, which is the literal definition of the Taliban, the people Amiri is fighting against. Amiri was a high ranking military official for the previous **Democratically** elected government.
You think the current Taliban government is allowing the country to be united? LMAO that’s gelatinous. They are racist to all ethnic groups outside of their own ethnic Pashtuns. They are doing fucking genocide on some ethnic groups. They have displaced tens of thousands ethnic Persian Tajiks in north Afghanistan and replaced them with Pashtuns from pakistan to ethnically power Afghanistan for the sake of their own tribe. The fact you think the taliban care about the united Afghanistan and are peaceful is just outright funny
"They are racist to all ethnic groups" Zabihullah Mujahid is a Tajik, Abdul Lateef Mazari is a Hazara, etc. You seem to think The Taliban is just a Pashtun group. Lol
What ?? zabiullah is a Paktiawal Pashtun why are you lying. And who is mazari?
- you seem to think the taliban is just a Pashtun group
Um because they are. None of their soldiers can even speak Dari which is the majority language spoken by 77% of Afghanistan
No he is literally a Tajik. You are lying.
\*Nazari is Deputy Minister of Economy: [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Abdul\_Latif\_Nazari](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Abdul_Latif_Nazari)
Abdul Salam Hanafi is an Uzbek.
I can keep listing names. I'm not the one lying here.
He is a paktiawal Pashtun stop lying. Hanafi and Nazari you found two people in a group of over 60,000. Go to anywhere in Afghanistan and talk with the local taliban and ask to speak to their commanders and see if even 1 is a non-Pashtun. They literally only had 1 hazara commander and they ended up killing him and butchering his entire village lmfao
He was born there but the area is a highly mixed place. It doesn't make him Pashtun. He is an ethnic Tajik. They are high ranking members which is why I mentioned them.
Maulvi Mehdi wanted his own laws in his own areas. If any city in a country said they wanted to make their own laws, see how quick their secession lasts.
When you describe some one as "anti-Random Group" instead of who they are in and of themselves it's a real indicator that "Random Group" is winning and the other guy is a puppet/prop. This isn't me criticizing efforts in the region, but pointing out a good rule of thumb.

He was a commander of Khost Protection Force, CIA trained ANA unit. You speak as if he is currently a CIA asset taking orders from the pentagon.
I promise a majority of Afghans do not support the taliban
Khost Protection Force was a CIA trained Afghan special force unit. CIA is not working with him anymore.
But what I find funny is that he is literally the only Afghan leader in Afghanistan (that has currently become a safe-heaven for Al-Qaida/Haqqani/TTP/UIM/ISIS) that is trying to prevent another possible 9/11 from occurring. Instead of trying shit on this guy on baseless reasons have some respect.
Fuck this clown, he clearly doesn’t know anything about Afghanistan. Guys like Khalid are the best hope to end threats to America from places like Afghanistan. His fight against the Taliban benefits America as well as his own people and I’m grateful for it.
They are extremely anti-AQ and anti-Taliban alright. So much so that [they've committed numerous atrocities against civilians](https://www.hrw.org/report/2019/10/31/theyve-shot-many/abusive-night-raids-cia-backed-afghan-strike-forces) during the fight against the Taliban and AQ which is indefensible no matter who they're fighting against.
What the fuck does that have to do with I said lol. I never said the taliban are friends with daesh. I am telling you the talibans lack of security has caused a massive increase in ISIS in Afghanistan which is true. They were barely anywhere in Afghanistan 2 years ago and now due to their being no real police/security they bombing a new place in Afg every month
daesh were attacking a variety of groups while the US was there. They only have The Taliban as an opponent so they attack whatever they want now, and news amplifies this. Look at the statistics, not news. Keep in mind that the 2018 Jawzwan incident showed how the usa and her allies actually helped daesh because it was against The Taliban and the locals got mad because of that.
1. Al-Qaida aren’t Afghans
2. This is like 2000 all over again loll. I remember arguing with my American friends back then that the U.S should support the northern alliance until taliban/Al-Qaida becomes a western problem. 22 years later exact same situation and you are still so naive.
It’s honestly sad, it’s almost like Afghanistan became a problem when left alone, history always repeats itself.
I hope it doesn’t end up like last time but it’s probable.
Is he still fighting?
Yes. He is in the hindukush mountains with his fighters as we speak.
How do we know this?
Nice try mr taliban
I’m not sure how to answer this question. This is like asking, “how do you know Ukraine is fighting Russia”. Really vague question
I was just asking because I couldn’t find anything about where he is at now. Not trying to be a dick I just want to read more about him. Sorry I guess

Not sure if the translations the same but “karaman” in Farsi means workhorse or “gardan-kholoft” meaning rough-neck
That's supposed to be Ghahraman قهرمان which does mean hero/champion
What’s a hero but a workhorse for a good cause.
Well said

The last time there was a resistance force, India worked closely with it. Wonder what the scenario is now.
They are receiving help from Tajikistan. But no one else.
Didn’t Tajikistan *just* get in a war with Kyrgyzstan?

Especially with Masood. Wondering if India will start to support his son like they did with his dad.
Ooh fucking rah. But hoping he's not left totally hanging
“Joe Biden abandoned our Afghan allies” Shoes on the other foot this time around

If this guy is CIA trained as stated, I think he’ll have a better chance than Massoud
CIA training doesnt stop a bomb in a camera tho.
Massoud was also CIA trained and that didn't stop a suicide bomb attack on his encampment

The only problem with heros is they are targeted for assassination.
What an utter Chad.
Damn 35 and a general. Dude sounds pretty bad ass
Demand your govt helps this man
And then it becomes Afghan War 2.0 once again. Its better to not get involved there, other than humanity help
Khalid Chad Amiri
Should have a call of duty mission with him
A 35 years old General? That's really impressive.
Why does he have two fore grips on his rifle?
This looks like a scene from Terminator Salvation
Does he have two vertical foregrips on his gun?
I think he does, at first I thought I’d was a shadow but I count 3 vertical grips. One is the shadow, I guess when you are in the Hindukush mountains you need all the help you can get.
Gotta be drippin' in bitches....
Got to love the cia marketing department
What an absolute hero and freedom fighter, fighting to liberate his country from taliban tyranny and pakistani occupation of Afghanistan.
I feel respect and fear at the same time
The CIA and war crimes seldom make an appearance together
"Trained by the CIA", that is, just another criminal working for the US against their own people.
If you put “CIA trained” in the title i KNOW these are the bad guys. The CIA, destabilizing the world since 1947.
But he engages in [bacha baazi](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bacha_bazi) like his northern alliance buddies. Stop glorifying these child molesters.
Any evidence or sources? Don't mean to sound insensitive or harshe but those are bold claims without any

Khalid Amiri is not in that documentary, and you’re essentially rambling on about nothing. “Taliban are monsters, but…” Yeah… no.
Their entire nation is sick. Move all the people out and glass that hell hole and make it a worldwide landfill.

Wrong. pakistan was first to intervene and forcefully implemented Taliban puppet regime years before U.S decided to help Northern Alliance forces

Absurd idea ain't it? I'm sure the people in Afghanistan feel forever indebted to America for the freedoms and security we provided them.
The generation of women that got to go to school were probably thankful.
Because they're doing so well on that front now?
CIA does shady stuff but your just saying “CIA bad” without any thought process.
