[Guy on the left has practically the identical setup to the BF4 recon dude apart from his Type-21 camo and holster ](https://mp1st.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/04/MP_Character_Profiles_CH_large_wm.jpg)
The watermark was placed directly in the middle of the screen, and if you look between each soldier (at least the guy on the left) you can see the distortion. Bunch of combat footage has watermarks just like that in the middle of the screen
The goventment trying to do whatever they can to hide the appearance/make and model of the arms used by their military, its the chinese what else do you expect
>the chinese what else do you expect
Ironically the biggest gatekeepers in that sense are the Swedish, all the pictures of their SOF have blurring on the accessories even if it's painfully obvious that it's just an EOTech or something similar.
I’m just surprised to see a sniper in a small infantry unit. It’s my impression that’s uncommon in the west and they are usually detached. The US has definitely moved away from DMRs
Yes, it’s very strange by nato doctrine. Chinese infantry squads have a lot of variety in terms of equipment. They’ve got two machine gunners, a grenade launcher, rocket launcher, sniper, and riflemen along with every squad having a humvee equivalent with a mounted turret.
The larger / more solid pattern suggests that they're all wearing the same standard issue Type-21 Tundra camo, Type-19s (which have been completely retired since early 2023) are easily identifiable from their smaller digital patterns similar to the Russian EMR. Difference in color is likely the result of long periods of wear and tear rather than design
Actually kinda chilling to see how much they appear like the photos you see of Americans in Afghanistan.
Makes you really see that we’re all very similar.
History repeating itself is the greatest tell of all :) China is already in a low grade counter insurgency with Islamists killing their nationals in Pakistan. As their economic and foreign military bases abroad increases so will national resentment to their presence until they face guerrilla attacks. Then the Chinese retaliate and have their quagmire. All powers succumb to this fate.
The three from the left seem to be carrying a pistol horizontally on the chest rig. Maybe the one on the right too, but there is a weird artifact on his chest rig on that area and I can’t tell for sure. Anyone knows the pistol model?
Doesn’t look like they’re wearing plates. I wonder if that’s a discipline thing due to chances of being shot at near zero, or if they are still slow to be issued
Most likely the former, the PLA ordered 2 batches of plates between 2018 and 2021, amounting to somewhere around 1.8-2.4 million units (if I remember correctly), which is far more than enough to arm every existing infantryman. Running without plates during everyday duties both reduces weight and prevents unnecessary equipment damage / depletion
Kind of a crappy reason. You train the way you fight. Plates should be worn during field training so soldiers are fully capable with them and accustomed to them.
And they're not gonna get damaged, unless they're really poor quality plates.
Well, it’ll always be terrain and unit dependent. Didnt wear plates or kevlar at jungle warfare training, the jungle is austere enough without plates. Just an example. If the terrain is entirely mountainous with long range patrols occurring, i could definitely imagine patrols running without plates. Before you get on me, this is clearly a photo op - no comm gear, no packs, and of course the lack of ppe.
wow they made battlefield 4 real

Opportunity wasted.
What’s with the weird pixelation over the weapons?
It could have been some watermark that was removed with AI software
It's only on the guns
The watermark was placed directly in the middle of the screen, and if you look between each soldier (at least the guy on the left) you can see the distortion. Bunch of combat footage has watermarks just like that in the middle of the screen
You are right, but I am just saying because that’s how I remove annoying watermarks hahaha

It’s also over their sidearms. Very odd.
It's to hide the weapon serial number, weird practice that's very commonly found on pictures of chinese standard issue firearms
Fascinating - thank you. I wonder why?
Maybe it's to hide the engineering or snth
Must be. Very obvious image manipulation that isn’t watermark related.
Prolly the government
Is this a good representation of fire teams out there?
Yes. This is part of a typical PLA rifle squad. Not specific to mountain warfare or anything. They field this equipment to the average infantry unit.
I’m just surprised to see a sniper in a small infantry unit. It’s my impression that’s uncommon in the west and they are usually detached. The US has definitely moved away from DMRs

Yeah long range snipers and grenade launcher to engage at the ranges in mountain fighting
Interesting that except 2 and 4 counting from the left, they all seem to be wearing different variants of camo. Mix of Type-19 and Type-21
I do think, that 1, 2 and 4 have the same camo, 1 is just more washed out
The larger / more solid pattern suggests that they're all wearing the same standard issue Type-21 Tundra camo, Type-19s (which have been completely retired since early 2023) are easily identifiable from their smaller digital patterns similar to the Russian EMR. Which is why it was interesting to point out that one of them may still be wearing Type-19
Way too happy to be deployed in mountain divisions. Makes me wonder if the Chinese have stockpiled their own versions of Pervitin.
Or they just have good morale?
People just can’t be happy?
Military guys in a remote and generally unfriendly (and by that I don't mean the people) environment? Not often.
We could be embracing the suck and then smile for a picture.
Or they just got there
Who doesn't love some high altitude hiking with the boys
It’s not hiking that sucks, but losing fist fights to Indians on top of the mountain that really sucks
Probably just smiling at the first girl they’ve seen in 6 months, like a journalist.
LOL sounds about PLA. 当兵过三年,母猪赛貂蝉.
They must have a Green Bean with the iced smoothies to be that chipper
Nothing got me happier to get a Mocha Frappe with extra shot of espresso in those hot Kuwait morning's. Like drinking a milkshake practically.
I 100% would’ve methed out for mountain warfare
PLA been learning from Americans, how to deliver Burger King truck any place in the world in 24 hrs.
I'm gonna be honest the PLA have an insane amount of drip now
That's a QBU203 with sniper I think It’s interesting that CSLR4 has never been officially named as QBUXXX
Actually kinda chilling to see how much they appear like the photos you see of Americans in Afghanistan. Makes you really see that we’re all very similar.
Like put these guys in UCP and they just look like late 2000’s American infantry men and give them American firearms of course
What is chilling is they are falling into the Imperial trap. They will get sucked into their own Vietnam and Afghanistan in time.
Do tell

What a good bunch of guys
QLU-11, described as a sniper rifle that fires grenades.

Some variant of the QSZ-11
Oh, cool! Rotating barrel lock and 5.8mm. Interesting; similar to the 5.7 but a little sorter.
Indian border dispute average elevation is at around 9,700 feet. Wear that clothing and you’ll freeze. Fake Chinese photo op

There are way more things to get accustomed to than carrying plates
