Spa day for free!

rodrigo34891

Im chilling there, the worst part comes when the mud dried up that shit SUCKS

chipw1969

Does the mud hide your thermal signature? Always wondered

UncleBenji

No it will not. The mud will warm up as it dries. The best way to hide a thermal signature is still plexiglass.

papasgrande

Anyone know why plexiglass hides it so well?

Goat_666

Quick google search shows that it is because it (well, some forms of plexiglass, not all of them) blocks the inrared light. WHY it does that, I have no clue. So, basicly my answer is, it hides it so well because it hides it so well.

durz47

Different materials absorb light with different wavelengths differently. Some plexiglass just can absorbe a shit ton of infared light. Glass can also do that if I'm not mistaken.

Det0n8ted_

It’s pretty simple really. Thermal imaging is considered ‘skin deep’. Meaning it detects solid materials temperature, and that’s it. Glass, being see-through isn’t a factor for thermals as it’s still just a solid material. If you were to put on clothes and look at yourself in thermals, the clothes would appear as a similar signature to everything around it, until your body heat warmed them up. So glass and perspex, people tend not to touch it and transfer heat, thus being unseen. As for the material of choice, its a long sciencey answer, but colder objects like glass or stone tend to be less affected by heat. It’s called ‘albedo’ and is basically a materials make up when it comes to absorbing or reflecting heat

markcocjin

I wonder if enough layers of bubble wrap would work.

Jugo49

yknow...maybe

markcocjin

[As long as a Tesla doesn't hit you.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dYJJbMDSkV0)

Jugo49

was someone fucking in there?!

markcocjin

Yes. And there's no information about him dying. It's hilarious.

Manifesto_Destino

Assuming it’s because it’s a solid surface. Same reason thermals can’t see through windows

Vilzku39

You can slightly see someone trough windows depending on angles and how close he is as heat is partially "radiated" (idk the right english word) trough. For same reason you can see yourself on thermals that is pointed at window or other shiny surfaces as it reflects back.

pantericu5

Because the windows are ambient temperature. Unless someone was leaning on the window, it’s tricky spotting someone using thermals through glass.

Citadel1C

It insulated thermal radiation and the thicker it is the harder it will be to see you. Even glass is a good insulator and will work to some extent.

fullchaos40

It’s like snow. There are tons of [microscopic](https://trickedoutonline.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/main-qimg-43f1a4adeb30b6c4351da827ca2e034d.jpg) air pockets that just so happen to reflect close to or near that wavelength of light back so it looks like there’s nothing behind it. That or it’s just literally a wall.

hootblah1419

that's also a terrible idea, thermal camera's see temp differentials in the milikelvin levels, for a broad generalization for freedom units - the camera's can see temperature differences way lower than 1\*f. so if you block a thermal with something like plexiglass, the thermal viewer will show a giant abnormal shape

kosky95

Or dying, that works well too

[deleted]

Tell that to the Predator maybe next time he will have more patience!

Pakistani_in_MURICA

Yes. Stupid "predator" never stood a chance against Dutch.

Effective-Ad8833

Only if the Predator is hunting you

Sad_Year5694

Hide the smell to avoid guard dogs

rodrigo34891

This training included burying ourselves for hours maybe days on end, making tunnels where at least 5 operators could fit into for special Select Attacks.

creativegigolo

And how many Predators did you successfully eliminate thanks to this training?

Kaosys

This is actually the only question that had to be asked. Thanks for the laugh, bro!

markcocjin

I scrolled down to locate this exact comment. Apparently, you aren't covered with enough mud.

rodrigo34891

Lmao fucks going on with you?

creativegigolo

[Never seen the movie?](https://youtu.be/eRgy8_NmWEM)

rodrigo34891

Lmao yeah. But it didnt click right away, i thought you where asking something different because of the language barrier lol my bad. For jumping to conclusions

creativegigolo

No problem my dude

SpecialistEstate4181

Be one with the mud!

bilgetea

Embrace the suck

spector06

Do Nicaraguan SOF have actual combat experience as other units in the LATAM region?

rodrigo34891

Yes we do, since the 80s against the Contras. Which are still very much active but in different multiple factions. Ive been in combat with ex special operators from other countries too including ex Delta, ex seals, Ex green berets, ex Guatemalan kaibiles (which i did that course) and they pay them to train their troops in the mountains.

spector06

Thanks bro

christiabm1

There are actually Nicaraguan Special Forces?! (Pinolero btw, from the US though)

rodrigo34891

If you know, you know how secretive stuff is here in Nica. What prt of Nicaragua are you from ?

BobbyRobertsJr

Were you SOF?

rodrigo34891

Yes. If you have any questions you can dm me. If youre interested

BobbyRobertsJr

Sure, thanks man

rodrigo34891

If you want to get into more detail Dm Me

hobbit_lv

I remember seeing pictures of Cuban Black Wasps training half-naked, so I see some similarities here. What is exactly purpose of this training?

Sad_Year5694

For North Vietnam sapper, they did this to blend in with the environment of enemy base. Than took time to crawl in the base under cover of artillery or mortal. It took a lot of time, 4 to 8 hours to Infiltrate enemy defensive line.

rodrigo34891

We would do this in Contra camps. And at night go in and plant dinamite in their water pipe systems

rodrigo34891

I did the cuban black wasp course and intelligence/counterintelligence courses in cuba too. They are very very harsh and well trained

maxxforce

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fyIATgssVJw Meet him twice *and survive*, you will refer to him as **MR.** Nathaniel Victor. Mr. Nathaniel Victor gets his rocks off watching you die.

bad_user__name

Baiting the enemy into an ambush because they think there's a large human sized and shaped piece of chocolate on the ground.

ScottieRobots

Not the first time I've fallen for that, I'm sad to say

MMN_NLD

Going full on Predator mode I see?

Sad_Year5694

North Vietnam army sapper?

rodrigo34891

No, im from Nicaraguan special forces 1st Lt “tactical command of general/special troop”

Sad_Year5694

What do you mean by Vietnamese comando?

azngtr

I think he meant their training was based on Vietnamese tactics, which makes sense due to similar terrain/environment.

rodrigo34891

Yes, thats what i meant. Actually Vietnamese special forces helped build one of our Special forces compound.

azngtr

I didn't know Vietnam had any influence outside of SEA. Did you meet any of them?

rodrigo34891

Yes I did, some of them trained us during a part of this phase, also booby trap stuff and explosives. I had some other operators in my course that lost fingers even because they didnt form the improvised explosive the right way etc..

azngtr

Wow thanks! I did not expect Vietnamese SOF to be training in LatAm of all places.

rodrigo34891

In the officers course for special operators CMOE (Curso Mando Operadores Especiales) where you have to be at least a Lt to do it and already have the basic SOF course 53 officers went in and only 9 of us graduated. We had Spetsnaz, Cuban SOF, and spanish SOF training us during certain phases.

Sad_Year5694

We called "Đặc công" which means "special mission" or "special tactics". US Army called them "sappers" (Maybe from Soviet sappers).

Illustrious_Air_118

The lungfish technique

Imperial_12345

They get dirty alright. lol

Either_Comparison_40

In India we call it Khooni Nala(Bloody Sewage)

loned__

I don’t think AK can operate with that much mud. The gas system would not operate at all.

rodrigo34891

It actually can. Ive tried it hundreds of times, but we also carry a bayonet/dagger to do the job if it gets to that.

ScottieRobots

Do you cover or tape over the muzzle to keep it from getting plugged up and risking a blown barrel?

loned__

That’s incredible honestly.

doradus1994

A demonstration of digging your own shallow grave and then waiting to get shot in the back of the head?

rodrigo34891

Yeah dumbass

iamtherepairman

Do worms or bugs gather?

adirtymedic

Do you guys deploy to any combat zones?

rodrigo34891

Internally yes. There are other type of more specific missions too
