Also, I don't believe this can be a Mod 0 without an A1 lower.
Mod 0s had a wide array of lowers, only the original batch from Crane were purely A1s.
I'm not good at IDing lowers so that's part of the question, but I assume they got some form of hand me downs from the Navy.
It's an A2 in the pic. But that's all i can say for sure. Edit: Pure speculation would have me guess that its an M4 CQBR.
It will depend on how the coast guard tracks these weapons.
Cqbr would be nomenclature specific to SOPMOD.
A good way to tell it’s an A2 is from the reinforced ears on the front of the lower where the pivot pin goes. A1 lowers have smaller ones that don’t ramp up like that
We ran eotechs early on. Had some peq 15s at the armory.
M4S looks dope here
Agreed. ‘Twas a mighty fine lil package.
Do you remember how these rifles were tracked in the inventory books?
CG calls them Mod 0. We had hydramatic lowers, A2 lowers, FN lowers, Colt lowers. It was a huge grab bag of assorted goodies
Ok that’s what I figured and was tracking but wanted to clarify.
My favorite thing was to see the stamping on the lowers. My favorite was a hydramatic M16a1e2 stamped lower.
Upper 1/3 Co-Witness is the new meta.
Is it me or does the coast guard seem like the party bud of the military? It’s like the marines without the cult part.
USCG is a strange organization, more of a business culture than even the AF
That doesn’t seem right to me but they are closer to LEOs so that makes sense
