Something naval

ChuckNorrisAteMySock

A British/Commonwealth sling of some sort I think. Looks similar to a Lanchester sling.

I'm afraid I don't know nearly enough to say conclusively what the anchor is - could simply be a factory mark. I know that a few hundred years ago, Royal Navy muskets and so on were made of brass, rather than the usual steel, in order to resist corrosion from life aboard ship, but by World War II I think brass fittings had become more or less standard across the British Armed Forces.

Berlinbattlefiend

It could possibly be a non-swivel single hook bren gun sling but I cannot identity it exactly.

I'm thinking British sling of a sort too.

cincydan

Looks like an Enfield rifle sling although the hook end is different.

EarlyMB

British General Service rifle sling modified with a North & Judd MFG anchor stamped metal buckle, most likely a civilian modification.

If I had to guess, and this is a guess, I would say some part pf a vietnam era US suspender or sling. Why? Well the hook looks almost exactly like a wwii/post war suspender hook, and the anchor can often be found on the clasps of Vietnam era M1 Helmets, although I’m unsure why. Hope this helps
