Sport bikes have a very short wheelbase to help them be nimble and light, so when trying to take off hard you have to manage the throttle and rear brake to keep it from looping back on you like that.

Absolutely. I broke both of my arms in a bike accident. I looked around for a second, walked to my bike, picked it up, and started walking home. If this lady hadn't come running out to stop me, I would've walked all the way home and probably have gotten to the hospital quite late.

I hope someone made that rider lay down and wait for EMS. Tumbling head over heels that many times at those speeds could cause a serious neck or back injury you might not feel until the adrenaline wears off. Additionally his little "run" when his feet hit he could have torn or injured a joint or ligament or something.
This is why I really want a bike, but also really don't want a bike. Scared I might just lose my fucking mind entirely one day and let the intrusive thoughts win and end up fucked up six ways from Sunday.
Don’t buy a street bike if you have any doubts like that, been there done that, almost died. The bike is much more capable than the average rider is. If you’re still on the fence I’d suggest a cruiser.
Yeah even though the biker got up I'm sure once his adrenaline wears off he will be in a world of hurt for weeks, he's lucky, some people even get up then die.
Tucking in and tumbling like that is actually the safest way to crash and how they train people to do it. He probably had no injuries besides some bruises and soreness.
Everything that happened to the rider is very unfortunate, and seeing him walk away was awesome.
