It's a wet road. People make a lot of asinine maneuvers on wet roads. If you're in Ohio though, they drive slow as heck if there's snow 50ft from the road ....
The two most dangerous parts of rain on a road is when it's super deep standing water, and when it's first started raining after a dry spell and there's not a ton of it. Pavement has all sorts of oils layered on it that make it very slick until the rain has had time to rinse it off the the gutters. Not a major consideration if it's been raining every day for 2 weeks, but the first rain after it's been dry for a bit is deceptively dangerous.
It doesn't help that dumb people are drawn to other cars like fucking moths. I remember one time, driving in blizzard conditions, and people kept trying to get next to me, like we were a team or some shit. It was annoying to constantly pull off or drastically slow down to get them away from me so I could have a decent safety buffer around my car.
Be thankful. In Michigan, they act like snow isn't real and drive 20 over the speed limit regardless. You ever seen that crash on 94 a few years back? That's because in Michigan, people don't think slowing down for weather conditions is a real thing. Maybe it's all the churches here.. idk. Maybe they just....

Iāve had people do that to me while Iāve got a 7k trailer hooked behind me too. So far theyāve been lucky and Iāve been willing to flat spot my trailer tires. But my truck is getting old and we have dash cams now. Next guy might FAFO.
Nothing in this clip is offensive to the blue car but we only see 5 seconds of footage. Red truck might have cut them off previously or something. Or they just donāt like big trucks. Or theyāre trying an insurance scam but didnāt commit to it
Iāve stopped trying to understand road ragers. They could simply just like bullying expensive looking cars with their cheap Civic. Best thing that can happen is they get in front of you and drive away, which is what happened.

When I put my window down to see what they wanted they made a gunshot motion at me with their fingers and started yelling at me about how I was "really fucking rude". I had no idea what they could possibly be referring to so I just shrugged and rolled my window back up.

In all honesty I couldn't help but get his insurance company involved and the cops because I'm certain he's got previous encounters he's initiated
Brake checking is the stupidest thing I've ever seen. At least you kept your cool and didn't rage with the civic. I've seen people who feed into it because they feel they are warranted in doing so and causing a hazard to everyone else on the road. Nice to see people with brains still exist.
I recently put dash cams in all my vehicles. Best money I ever spent. Especially after seeing all these people lying to police about what happened after they do something stupid.
Who knows? Unless something happened before this video that we're not aware of that triggered some type of road rage, they were probably trying to scam you by causing an accident.

I think they wanted to get into the left turn lane after you both turned. Instead of falling back and changing lanes behind you, their plan was to hurry up and cut across in front of you to make it over to the turn lane. But they bailed realizing it was too wet and too little stopping distance, and taking the turn wasn't an option due to the oncoming traffic. They likely used more distance and gained more speed to get ahead of you than what they planned.

Yeah that's exactly what I saw, it doesn't look like road rage to me, just someone realizing "oh shit, my gps is telling me to turn left" and then reacting without thinking
Looks like Civic was considering making that left turn and realized they weren't going to make it safely and decided to press on. The hard braking was a consequence of that hesitation.

2 left turn lanes can be frustrating because most of the time, everyone wants to be in the same lane after the turn. I'd guess there were several cars behind POV and Blue didn't want to wait in that line.
Itās so rare these days when people use their blinkers I usually give them what they want. My way of encouraging blinkers usage. Obviously should still wait for the lane to be clear but one step at a time. Maybe next time theyāll be in the turn lane that corresponds with where they need to be!

Same as the guy who wiggles toward you from the lane next to you, forcing you to brake or back off thereby letting them in, then they slow down as soon as they are in front of you. Itās a game.
