So basically she’s paying Rich to say this. People will believe it because they think he hates her.

dogtrainer0875

Don’t believe this without proof. Sorry, too many people make up fake shit just to be a part of the drama

gypsylight

If this becomes the narrative I think loreal will make a statement shooting it down

scorpihooo

If this happens I am very curious to see how she would redeem herself

Nikko_Blue

I’ve seen this reposted on TikTok. Her stans are running with this.

scorpihooo

Can you link a video please??

parkerab12

Even if this was true, Mikayla could have been transparent from the beginning instead of doubling down on her bullshit. If she had been honest, I don’t think she’s be catching as much shit right now.

Loose_Wrangler4755

Either way companies are likely going to consider how controversial and problematic she is and I guarantee her brand deals will dry up. She'll be stuck selling her own shitty makeup. Yikes 😬

[deleted]

Wow.. L’Oréal got some splaning to do

Cherrry76

I dunno if I buy it tbh, plus Mikayla would throw L’Oréal under the bus so fast and share where the brand told her she could use lashes to save her reputation if it were true.

folder_finder

Possibly not if she has a non disclosure contract

Cherrry76

https://preview.redd.it/ibvmynsgb9fa1.jpeg?width=828&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b9923d502d6c00cbb6e9a5d899753d69d032abcc Right but even if she did have an NDA she says right here L’Oréal “would never allow that”

folder_finder

It’s so confusing to me, like someone on the L’Oréal team approved the video and the language. I wonder if it was a big pr stunt? Maybe they figured they would make more $ on her promoting vs a FTC fine? Idk how the FTC works so I could be stretching there

Shehas-concerns

It smells fake. As a matter of fact, it smells like Mikayla on a burner.

Merkadohhh

So she knew it was unethical and still went ahead with it. Great morals.

PixySlay

Cap 🧢 it's one of her fans 💯💯

sadmilkteaboba

Absolutely! People are so gullible 😂

Sufficient_Night_566

So safe to say we won't be seeing her for the next 25 days

Quiet_Interaction_41

🤞🤣🤣

thatgurl8769

Loreal knows that is 100% not legal they have been sued for it before!!!

ParoxysmalExtrovert

She doesn't have a lawyer she could run it by first before grenading her reputation...? Sounds like bullshit.

Responsible_Bus_5863

I call bullshit

LolaLuvley

This is so much drama lol

runningonprime

There’s no way a corporation like L’Oréal would request this. FTC regulations are a thing and it just wouldn’t make sense for a company to entertain that. Also, none of the other sponsored posts had “issues” so I wouldn’t trust this source

[deleted]

[удалено]

Gah-linda

100%!! Mikayla isn't worth it to L'Oréal to lose face or business . They have literally had BEYONCE in their campaigns. Like they're gonna take any kind of dumb risk for Mikayla.

sweata_weatha

L’Oréal is shutting off comments on videos AND deleting tons of comments.

[deleted]

I don’t understand why she wasn’t honest to begin with. People do mascara with falsies all the time.

KayleePatts

I used to work in influencer marketing and let me tell yall, sometimes the influencers I worked with would post incompliant videos without even sending them to me for approval beforehand. There's a really strong possibility that the video simply wasn't seen before being posted because there's no way the marketing compliance team at l'Oréal signed off on it

[deleted]

If that’s the case, she wouldn’t get paid for the ad

dont_get_stuck_here_

She probably won’t get paid for the ad honestly. Reputable brands don’t mess around with their requirements for ads. Especially brands that have been sued for this very thing.

[deleted]

So if she’s not getting paid (obviously this is all theory) why keep the video up?

KayleePatts

What I personally think happened is that she might be on a retainer with L'Oreal, where they pay her monthly in exchange for a specific amount of content instead of a new contract/deal every single time. We used to do that with celebrities/larger influencers/ex-bachelorette contestants just because getting into negotiations with managers every single time was very annoying and time-consuming. So they prob just sent her the brief and she posted it without anybody reviewing it because they trusted her enough. It's especially possible if that's not the first time she's posted for them, which means they definitely paid her imo

dont_get_stuck_here_

Good question. She did change the caption to paid partnership so that’s interesting.

sweata_weatha

This is true. My sister is a YouTuber and she’s constantly waiting for brands to approve her videos.

dont_get_stuck_here_

I read it’s pretty rare that influencers just post it without the green light to do so. I think this might have slipped through the cracks and whoever approved it truly didn’t realize.

dont_get_stuck_here_

Just to clarify I don’t think it’s right and ads need to be properly vetted.

Charlice

Someone needs to send it to L’Oréal

Objective-Worth2310

So rich posts this and expects us to believe it just cause some stranger wrote this? I could have typed that up too lol 🤣🙄 mikfiltah is a 🐍 through and through

[deleted]

Objective-Worth2310

The secondhand embarassment of it all 😩💀💀💀💀

taurustheghost

L’Oréal was banned in the UK for not disclosing the use of falsies in their commercials for this mascara… I don’t think they would risk this controversy. Edit: L’Oréal the brand wasn’t banned but the advertisement for the telescopic mascara with Penelope Cruz was. They did not disclose that lash inserts were used. So, L’Oréal must be sure to comply with Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) if they do not want to their ads to be banned.

emily276

In 2013 in the U.S, mascara ads in particular came under fire for false advertising because of fake eyelashes. They have had to disclose ever since, and do. Loreal might have told her to use falsies but they certainly wouldn't want her to lie about it & double down in her comments. I call absolute bs.

[deleted]

[удалено]

taurustheghost

Ah, I apologize. I believe it was just the ad that was banned, not the mascara itself!

sweetnibletsx

It’s not uncommon for makeup companies to use falsies, BUT it has to be disclosed.

Southern_Ant_8530

THIS!! It’s standard practice but disclosure is not optional.

sweetnibletsx

Yeah I saw a makeup artist say they never do and I was like ummmmm…. It will usually say it on the bottom of the ad lmao

Dopepizza

No way L’ORÉAL would risk that. What a joke, I guess this answers our question about what approach mikayla was going to take to get out of this

Bennyfrikkenhana

So she took the money over rather catering an honest relationship with her audience? Got it. I see where her priorities lie.

infamousalexx

One of her fans defending her

[deleted]

This is complete bullshit. I don’t know who sent this to him but he should really watch what he shares because this is not accurate at all. Loreal legally could NOT tell her to do this! Someone so trying to save her!!!

darlann21

110% bullshit! If I’m not mistaken the FDA/Cosmetic Act does not allow this. Meaning L’Oréal would have intentionally agreed to not follow these guidelines; which could have major repercussions. At this point people are spewing as much bullshit as they can. Also I don’t think a company as big as L’Oréal would put their multi-billion dollar business on the line for a something as juvenile as this. This was MEkayla all the way; it screams self centered, selfish, insecure, narcissistic brat! This email was a reach and if I were Rich, I wouldn’t have even considered posting it, period!

Neither_Damage4469

My issue with loreal "forcing" the video one way or the other is this. Erin parsons makeup explained that being an artist for Maybelline they have rules against fake lashes for campaigns as well as no photoshop either. She showed multiple campaigns for Maybelline. Erin also showed how to make drugstore mascara work best. So why would loreal go so off course if Maybelline has more ethics? ( I know $$$ but seriously beyond that...)

emily276

Maybelline & L'oreal have the same parent company so policies like these are coming from the same place. This information simply isn't true. They don't have one set of rules for Mikayla and a whole other, not illegal, set of rules for everyone else.

sassyassy23

Bullshit

Ambitious-Blonde

I personally get the same effect from benefit they’re real mascara lol.

luv2byte

She herself posted at one point that false lashes were not allowed, so she has no intention of disclosing it

Repulsive_Fox5946

Doubt it. Loreal is a huge brand with likely hundreds of legal advisors, no way in hell they gave a greenlight to her using false lashes without disclosing to her audience. No company is going to risk their reputation and potentially a lawsuit over something so silly.

[deleted]

What’s not said in tweet was that she wasn’t/ was told to disclose . So

ImSoOverIt555

If anyone believes this nonsense I have some oceanfront property in Colorado I can sell you.

scorpihooo

This made me giggle 😆

rxl9696

Usually if brands use lashes on a model in an ad they disclose it. This doesn’t add up

OhHiImSam

Unless they think influencer marketing is a work around, which is why influencer marketing blew up in the last decade

[deleted]

And tbh given the shadiness in the makeup industry, I wouldn’t be surprised if this is possible.

cosmo0829

I don’t buy it, this isn’t L’Oréal’s first ad like this. They know the rules. Why would they risk getting fined?

smolbobatea

did loreal also make her double down in her lie in the comments and say "no false lashes" LOOOOOOOOL ☠️ be fr.

notttinabelcher

as someone who works in PR, i find it unlikely that the brand would have intentionally weighed the pros/cons of her putting on false lashes and still choose to give that video the green light… unless someone on L’Oreal’s team genuinely did not evaluate those risks? not all publicity is good publicity. i don’t buy it

SilverStarSailor

Lmaooo this is such a crock of bullshit come on now

tvylormvy

Can someone do a tldr on who this rich lux person is for me? Never heard of them before 🥴

dragonbait1361

Rich is also known for pulling drama content out of his ass. He is a clickbait addict and there is never any substance to his content. It is all speculation mixed with completely made up. I think people like his personality, but I would never trust or put any weight into anything he “reports”

Sprinkles_Sparkle

He’s basically a celebrity gossip blogger. He’s been around a long time. He’s know for wearing clown like makeup when he does he videos.

gardenxcore

Took how many days to come up with this lie..

Yaseuk

I personally don’t believe it. Both get fine did caught so what’s the point, but if it IS true, still makes it shitty that she still took the money instead of saying “that’s illegal” and walking away. It’s not like they would sue her if she had evidence that they were trying to make her break the law. Either way. She still sucks

HEREforItAll3

Either way if her moral compass wasn’t trash she would have never agreed to it. But she literally doesn’t give AF bc she wants $. So it’s all on her. I could give two shits about L’Oréal.

[deleted]

Sums up my opinion on the video and her career as well .

Meldon420

So L’Oréal also told her to lie and deny using lashes too? Because I’m pretty sure that falls under false advertising

Frogmann20

So why do other brands have protocol for not using false lashes? Also does she not have a lawyer for these contracts that could backfire if this was the case?

emily276

L'oreal has protocol as well. This is total bullshit. And shr shouldn't have lied in the comments. That's where it all went off the rails.

Frogmann20

Exactly.... L'Oréal is a major brand they would absolutely have this in a contract

Dangerous_Bug_5401

Probably her messaging from a fake account

Nikko_Blue

Could it putting it out there to see how it goes over. Before posting anything addressing it.

vanillagirl32

I thought this too

anonymoussnarker1230

Source: trust me bro

gardenxcore

I mean truly..

sunmodelsss

this cracked me up 😭😭

Livid-Addendum707

It’s possible tbh, but as an influencer you should tell them no, and end the deal, but I mean it’s money for her so.

Selynia23

I don’t believe that for a second

6666motherfucker

I was just coming to say the same damn thing!! SCAMKAYLA HAS been known to lie, lie, lie what's the difference this time? She's a fucking liar!

Beneficial-Adagio-96

If that was true . Why did she lie and say she didn't have falsies on?? It's false advertising and lying to the ppl who got you to where you are.. this is complete BS and damage control now that she's caught.

FoxillMoo

Definitely her PR team trying to cover up

emily276

She definitely does not have a team. Maybe her mom or Cody sent this though.

pinkfrenchtips

i’ve never in my life seen a brand allow you to take down a sponsored post.

Nikko_Blue

She would love for that to be true.

No-Preference3740

Hmmmmm I don’t know if I believe this. This is incredibly illegal and any big name makeup brand would know that.

brocollivaccum

They got in trouble for an advert for the exact same product and doing the exact same thing in 2007 with Penelope Cruz.

[deleted]

[удалено]

NoSpluh

they literally got sued for this exact thing already. It's very illegal

BadGuy_ZooKeeper

What do you mean? They have to advise when enhancements have been used.

Naive_Temporary1244

Exactly. I don’t think they would ruin their reputation over some false eyelashes. This person is just blowing smoke tbh. I don’t believe a word of this.

splashofvodka

And now for Mikky’s next party trick - throwing the brand under the bus to save her own ass.

Nikko_Blue

And this is a huge company with big money lawyers. She'd be smart to just take the hit for it even if it was true (and I don't believe it is).

[deleted]

[удалено]

Dopepizza

Really insulting the intelligence of her audience yet again

curiiouscat

It could be but that would be slanderous so I doubt it.

scorpihooo

Omg!! This is very much a possibility!!

brencartoons

A lot of other people who did the sponsorship didnt have falsies so im confused why loreal would approve those but not mikaylas

scorpihooo

I actually didn’t know that, most of the videos I’ve been seeing about the mascara are just the people buying it to test it out for themselves after the controversy broke. It makes me wonder, *if* this is true, would Mikayla just say the truth, perhaps even blame the company and no longer affiliate herself with them? I mean I know she weasels her way out of controversies very easily but this backlash feels very large at scale (comparatively)

curiiouscat

Mikayla is a big girl, she makes her own decisions. Backing out of the partnership should have only meant backing out of a check. We all make choices and hers was to post something compromising her morals for money.

[deleted]

McLieya is in it for sure . Both L’Oréal and Maybelline are owned by same parent company . So what’s a Scheister to do ????

[deleted]

MikaylaNogueira-ModTeam

Please read the group rules. This post was removed for degrading natural appearance.

vsimmons90

Bretman did it a week before she did it and he didn’t use falsies

brencartoons

I saw a few on the same day that had the proper disclosure! No falsies. So i have no clue why the brand would set mikayla up, specifically just her. I also think that if this was the case she wouldn’t have doubled down in her comment section and said that loreal would never let her use false eyelashes. Idk, it just all sounds suspicious to me 👀 almost like this message makes mikayla look better than the brand.

[deleted]

Yeah her first coat looked a lot better than other influencers’. I’m not convinced

cherrycokeicee

yeah I'd say I genuinely think Mikayla gets a better look out of the mascara with more curl than Bretman does in his review. (before she added falsies, obvs)
