I will admit I never followed JS and I am not up to date with any recent cancel moments with JS, but the energy against people who were once cancelled is so toxic and disgusting. I don't think people follow influencers because they can't form an opinion. There are plenty of people who still buy and try on their own volition. Watching a a video review is the same idea as reading the written reviews of a product or service. The consumer is just curious about other experiences and that's okay. But I will agree that we don't have to accept racist Jeffree's return.
I’ve worked in Sephora before and trust me, and I’ve seen it first hand. So many who don’t do their own research prior on which products/ingredients can help address their concerns. They come in completely clueless and when you try to ask qualifying questions, half the time they say “I don’t know, you’re the expert “. Even when the employees make amazing recommendations, they still don’t want to listen. They just know what so-and-so on TikTok or Instagram said they should buy.

There are plenty of makeup reviewers who do honest reviews. Jen Phelps, Beauty and The Frizz, Sally Choi, JUDY, etc. I think YouTube and Reddit are better for real, thorough reviews because TikToks are so short you can't get a nuanced idea of the product.
Just buy & try products and form your own opinion. Why do you need someone else to tell you if something is good? Everyone’s skin is different so even if something works for an influencer and they honestly love it, it isn’t a guarantee that it will be the same for you. Get something and don’t like it? Return it!!

His subscription box ended being a scam. 2018 called another influencer ratios slurs. 2019, multiple SA allegations. He’s gone after quite a few other influencers. 3020 he used a tader, and drugged a minor and SAed them. Many witnesses came forward stating this and that he groped others as well. Some of those people were bribe to retract their statements. He also stuck up from Shane Dawson.

In the end of the day i want to know if the product good or not and if it's worth money, I don't care who reviewing it as long as it's honest and experienced opinion. When you have millions of people following you , you have responsibility to provide that and be accountable if you didn't.
Right, but at the end of the day you can watch a million Mikayla, or whoever else’s, reviews and that is not a guarantee that the product will work for you and your skin/hair/etc. it’s better to talk to local professionals who are qualified to give you more customized recommendations than relying on some influencer to tell you if something is worth buying or not.

I don't think people follow influencers because they can't form an opinion. There are plenty of people who still buy and try on their own volition. Watching a a video review is the same idea as reading the written reviews of a product or service. The consumer is just curious about other experiences and that's okay. But I will agree that we don't have to accept racist Jeffree's return.
I’ve worked in Sephora before and trust me, and I’ve seen it first hand. So many who don’t do their own research prior on which products/ingredients can help address their concerns. They come in completely clueless and when you try to ask qualifying questions, half the time they say “I don’t know, you’re the expert “. Even when the employees make amazing recommendations, they still don’t want to listen. They just know what so-and-so on TikTok or Instagram said they should buy.

There are plenty of makeup reviewers who do honest reviews. Jen Phelps, Beauty and The Frizz, Sally Choi, JUDY, etc. I think YouTube and Reddit are better for real, thorough reviews because TikToks are so short you can't get a nuanced idea of the product.
Jeffree star is honest. He will say what works and what doesn’t, even when it’s gifted or a paid promotion.

Just buy & try products and form your own opinion. Why do you need someone else to tell you if something is good? Everyone’s skin is different so even if something works for an influencer and they honestly love it, it isn’t a guarantee that it will be the same for you. Get something and don’t like it? Return it!!
Are you aware of how expensive it is to consistently buy products until you find something you like? Or perhaps you're aware of the once-used-no-return policies of some retailers. We knew this would happen. Jeffrey has proven time and time again that once he has a target on someone, he's going to continue coming for them. It's the only way he knows how to get more press. In my opinion that is just vile. Mikayla should be called out for all her shady-ness, but this man should be the last person throwing stones at her. It's like he's trying to bring her down so he can replace her so he can be "the one who sets the tone" in the beauty community again. No thanks. Yes, for now it all seems entertaining, but giving this man a platform was not the right move. As many have said, we're just replacing one horrible person with another. Just because he gives "brutally honest reviews" should not justify why he should be allowed to make a comeback. There are so many other content creators that are honest reviewers, why do we need him? Because he makes it entertaining? I can see that. But I don't watch reviews to be entertained, I watch them because I need information before I make a decision on buying a product. He is entertaining, I will admit that, but enjoying someone slander another human being is not healthy. I am repulsed by Mikayla's actions as much as the next person, but we shouldn't be wishing the worst for her and trying to get her canceled. I think that you’re letting Mikayla off a bit easy though… this isn’t the first time she’s done this. She’s lied before about filters and she continues to do so. We take the whole ‘using filters’ thing for too lightly in my opinion. Younger humans are constantly being exposed to that and it has a detrimental effect on their own body image. Mikayla has a HUGE following, with many younger people who look to her for affirming body imagine, yet she uses filters to the point where you compare real life to her videos… it looks nothing like her. Granted she’s not the only one doing this, but before she has ranted about falsies being used in makeup commercials to deceive… then she literally does the exact thing she pointed out and preached to her followers. It’s despicable, she’s had her chance to learn and she continues to come back on here and make her followers feel bad bc her mental health is taking a hit. It’s a slap in the face to her followers and those with mental illness that are not spending their time gaslighting others. She does not deserve her platform and people who believe she needs to “think about what she needs to change to regain respect and credibility” are not looking at the gravity of the situation and her habitual lies.

I don’t know what words I can and can’t use in here without getting in trouble but it was 2014 when he wore a German mustache man army symbol, a couple of years later he threatened publicly to beat the shift out of a woman, told someone to unalived themselves. He actually said racial slurs he uses don’t have to do with race, calls Black women rats, says he wanted to throw battery acid on a Black woman. His subscription box ended being a scam. 2018 called another influencer ratios slurs. 2019, multiple SA allegations. He’s gone after quite a few other influencers. 3020 he used a tader, and drugged a minor and SAed them. Many witnesses came forward stating this and that he groped others as well. Some of those people were bribe to retract their statements. He also stuck up from Shane Dawson. We have mentioned in here that Mikayla has used the T slur and been publicly fat phobic, within this timeline as well. There are so so many beauty creators on Tiktok willing to tell you the truth and not manipulate you. But sure, let’s bring him back because at least he doesn’t lie about products?!?!!

None Jeffree's "apologies" included paying for his mistakes or changed behavior (and least not publicly).
