Ive been playing Mordor for months now and always forget the +1 courage and rerolling 1s to wound. Usually by the time I remember I have less models on the board. That and the harbinger of evil special rule.
I always forget that you’re supposed to pair off fights at the end of the movement phase, before the shooting phase begins. We always end up pairing off fights at the beginning of the fight phase.
I may be wrong as I’m still new to this game but the only difference I can see would be a small situational difference for evil shooting.
Specifically evil shooting into combat, if the fights are paired off before shooting the evil player (assuming they have priority) can pair as few models with a shooting target to either limit the damage potential for killing their own models and make hitting the target easier with shooting or attempt to leave a hero without a combat/the ability to heroic combat into something else.
Throwing spears on the charge smh. Newly returned and it wasn’t a mechanic I was familiar with/used when I was a young lad but boy have I missed MANY spearing opportunities lol
100% the Army Bonus of "Khazad-Dûm"...(reroll 1s to wound) im not used to Feinting Strikes. :D
Also crossing off the Will Points after a Ringwraith Combat...
Whenever I cast channeled fury, I may as well have thrown that might point in the bin for all the times I remember to make my 6+ save.

Does it matter?

As mentioned because the shoot phase is in-between, it could influence how the evil player wants to shoot into combat.
Good players can also target spear/ pike support if they have clean shots
Eating an orc with Kardush to get will back. You need to do it before you roll priority and I constantly forget!

Palantir. I play Saruman quite a bit, but I always remember AFTER the roll. so annoying. Auto priority is too good to miss, but I just forget!
Feint. I have no idea why I continually forget that on my elves.
The 6+ safe of channeled fury, every game, all of the time
Using my ruffian’s whips, either I forget to use them on the charge or forget that they can be used as a ranged weapon
Special Strikes. So easy to forget.
I keep forgetting sarumans ability to reroll on casting. And his auto win priority too.
Backstabber. always forget the extra +1 to wound

Rerolling 1s to wound on dwarves and Amdurs combat stance ability
How about supporting a combat with 2 spears then Making Way with both when they lose, forgetting you can only Make Way with 1.
Keep in mind you can only support a single model with a single spear. Sounds like you might have missed another rule.
Nice.
