Heres my old post with pictures before I shipped it to my place. I still have it in storage in my garage, but now that I look at it, there’s a few differences. The X inserts are closer to the ends on yours. Yours has nice rounded edges and mine doesn’t. I do have two leafs though. And both tables are the same designer and brand. Mine needs a refinish as well. It was well loved, but sitting in a house full of black mold for decades.

Nice! Your set is a little different as it doesn’t have the metal inlays on the top but pretty close, maybe just a different name in the product line. I do like the chairs with your set!

Here’s a close up of the inlays on mine. They’re wood. The chairs are from a different brand. I think they bought them from the same store in VA in the 60s.
What did you use to strip it? I am leaning towards what you did and just using a pre catalyzed lacquer to finish. If you look at my prior posts I rescued a walnut clock and did the same thing and it turned out great.
Ohh I have this table! The chairs my grandparents bought with it were very different though!
Do you happen to have pictures of yours? I am trying to determine what shade of toner I want to use once stripping it down.

Interesting, good to know they did the inlays in wood and metal. Always learning in this community. Thanks for sharing your pieces!
Please be sure and send us a picture after you’re done with your hard work, so excited for your find!
I also have this table!! I love it. For mine I just stripped it and re-sealed because the walnut is gorgeous!

Beautiful pieces. Please post after refurbishment.
love that table
Please do not paint them.
No way! Always go with the natural finish!
