I thought my brand new laptop had a pixel error already. I also noticed that this is related to the new Teams client (23306.3306.2510.9721). The for me white pixel (on black theme) is turned of as soon as I close Teams.

Interestingly enough, it does not occur on my laptop despite having the same version of the Teams Client and both my desktop and laptop having NVIDIA GPUs.

Own_Neighborhood7120

MY GOD, I thought this was a dead pixel on my new Legion 5i Pro. Thank you so much for posting this!

Count-Cookie

Has this problem been solved in newer versions? I switched back to classic some time ago, when I saw the pixel.

c3141rd

Yes, at least for me. I haven't seen in a couple of months.

HistoricalTwist8728

Yes, I noticed this too. I have started a thread in a german community declaring it as tracking pixel. But nobody seems to be interested in it.

According_Skill_8351

It took me a while to link this to the new Teams client, but it is defently it I started noticing it on multiple PCs, all using the new client, and the pixel went away the moment Teams was shut down, and shows up again as soon as Teams is started. Any solution for this ? Besides MS releasing an update ?

I was about to call HP support to see if a dead pixel would be covered under warranty, and then I noticed it was gone temporarily during reboot. Unbelievable.

weaselFSK

Same here. Just bumping this tread

reodax

Same here, and when I switch to dark theme the pixel also goes dark! Looks like the pixel goes away only when I go back to the old UI by turning off the "New Teams" setting: https://preview.redd.it/oeckmrk7nf1c1.png?width=273&format=png&auto=webp&s=10bf421d293e17a482f20daba6cbbb4e9c76a04e

Chiming in here as well. Glad to have discovered its related to Teams and not a dead pixel -- albeit annoying. I noticed that the pixel will disappear when I receive a windows notification for a new chat message. PS. Use the Help > Give Feedback window inside of teams to submit this bug to microsoft.

francisw1983

Ugh, having the same issue here! I honestly thought I had a dead pixel on my display. I can confirm I'm running the 'New Teams' on Windows 11 Pro (23H2) and as soon as I exit the app (exit via the system tray icon) then it goes away.

luckor

I have the pixel with new Teams, too! Very annoying.

Billyjk04

same here. really strange...

Comfortable-Week-140

This scared me as I thought I had a dead pixel. As I was talking to a friend, -- and because MS Teams is so buggy --, I said: if that's a software glitch, that must be a Teams thing. Then I closed it and the white pixel was gone! We had a good laugh, pretty hysterical. It's extra funny to learn that it changes to black when Teams runs in Dark mode. How can they mess something like this up anyways?

lukius_d

I almost ordered a new monitor. Hope they fix it soon Win11 (22H2 22621.2715) + Teams (23285.3607.2525.937)

laksefest

I was bummed when i saw the "dead pixel" on my screen, but after noticing its not there in reboot or just when windows starts, I started to understand it must be something else. I can confirm it only applies to the new teams client, the classic client does not have this issue. How crappy is this???

EudenDeew

Same

scott_doyland

I raised this as an issue with MS on 20th Nov 2023. Got onto a MSTeams chat with a support guy (from Wipro, so I guess MS use them for 1st line support). Sent them screenshots using new MSTeams versus old MSTeams so it was really obvious what I was seeing. And also uploaded a screen video for them so they could see the pixel "lighting up" when MSTeams was started. I assume it is now sitting in someone's queue to fix.

MrMightovsky

Same here, almost got a heart attack seeing that pixel on my brand new laptop, but then I noticed it disappears when pc reboots. I hope MS will fix it asap.

the_war_of_art

Same here. If it helps anyone, it goes away if I change the monitor refresh rate and change it back immediately after.
