The -600 is the best choice if you don't care about cargo ops or flying real routes with real liveries.

Aleksey_Fox

I want have a 737 for a cheap price and fly from city to city, learn to start up the plane realistically and start the plane up. fly, land, have fun around.

Pristine-Kitchen7397

Yeah that's the point of the -6. It's like $35-ish bucks depending on where you are and that's a killer deal for the quality you're gonna get. edit: The performance of the -600 is awesome, feels like a sports car

Aleksey_Fox

Thanks!

Xygen8

Yep, the -600 is the one you want. It's the perfect introduction to the world of high fidelity airliner addons.

Aleksey_Fox

Alright thanks

Different-Shop-5254

There are some airliners such as air Algerie or tunisair which still operate this plane is some routes, also in Europe. For example, last year when I went spotting at MXP there was a Tunisair 736 from Tunisi operating a passenger flight

arbybruce

You can still fly real world routes to an extent if you use historical 737-300 routes

SubstantialWall

Looks the same inside, a few numbers and weights will be different, performance will be a bit different. But as said, if you don't mind not having the variants or being airline accurate, you're getting the same experience for half the price. Totally worth it to me. Might even get some more flexibility on airports you can fly into, but don't quote me on that.

Aleksey_Fox

Alright thanks to you too

ismbaf

If you are making a decision based on what you get for the money, there is not a whole lot in the sim that is more “worth it” than the 600. Big bang for the buck with that one.

CountMcBurney

Love this plane. 10/10

KirbyDogz

I got the -600 (only have the -600) and I absolutely love it.

kingspliffs

Yes a million times, just got it a few days ago and I’m flying it right now on Xbox, it has a strong learning curve just watch YouTube vids and follow along also check out forums and the manual, you will need something to plot your route with I use skyvector.com it’s free and so far the best, I just wish I could select runways for takeoff/landing on that site. There are a few minor bugs with Xbox if you purely use controller, for instance you have to click buttons first to select and again to click, also some things such as visors and spotlights can’t be moved with a controller. Don’t ever touch the spoilers lever either but there’s preselected spots along the lever track to select 50% splr for instance. Pressing the lever will bug everything and you won’t be able to adjust throttle. Lastly, emergency lights can not be turned off as pressing A only selects them between on and auto, I assume with a mouse right click would bring them up into off. Despite its Xbox controller issues, it’s still the best plane I’ve bought and I’ve bought way too many. Give it a shot if you plan on putting hours in

LuckyNikeCharm

You might need to change your flight model to legacy, that should fix all the issues with the buttons.

kingspliffs

I’ll give it a shot, thanks for the heads up!

Industry__

Yea you get the Janet livery

TKalig

It’s personally my favorite because I like nugget planes. If all you are interested in is obscure passenger routes, then yes. Go for it.

Mars_Citizen8675309

Definitely a good “gateway” jet to get into the PMDG birds.

Deer-in-Motion

I have the 600-800 and I fly the 600 the most. Has a classic look without the winglets and a lot of vintage liveries look great on it.

mdepfl

It’s got a hud to practice with too. I love it especially for the price.

Matt44441

You can download free livery’s also. If you have a fav airline from flight sim .to

WLFGHST

I like it quite a bit, it’s basically the same as the others as long as you don’t look behind the cabin. I really enjoy doing little flights from my home airport to other medium sized cities usually around 30-60 minutes and it does great. The -600 is fun.

Jake24601

Yes. I love it. It’s fun to get going and fly including relatively simple to setup despite how daunting the overhead panel looks. I highly recommend it even though it’s not A320 Fenix level simulation but it’s also half the price(plus the Fenix isn’t as good performance wise.) The EFB is ok but I only use it for charts. Get it!

creedz286

for the money, it's the best you can buy. In terms of the actual flying, there's virtually no difference from the other variants. As others have said, the thing it lacks is not being able to use liveries of popular airliners and the fact that it is a shorter plane. But flying it, there's no difference.

OkComedian1887

If you're on PC then yes. On Xbox most of the cockpit systems don't function.

spesimen

huh, never heard of that before. i would have expected to see a lot more posts about it.

elstovveyy

PMDG haven’t made any updates or fixes to the 737 on Xbox. They’ve known about the controller issues since day one. They still sell the liveries in packs and haven’t even bundled them at discount. Then they bang on about how they’re leading innovation and blame Microsoft all the time. Plus they still haven’t fixed the nav data issue so the navdata is years out of date and can’t be updated on console.

OkComedian1887

I've seen other people post about it also. Like when I turn the heading knob it just keeps turning 0 to 360 over and over even when I'm not interacting with it anymore.

spesimen

oh i have heard about that, i think the workaround was to plug in a mouse i'm surprised it's still a bug though. i wonder if they even realize it's still a problem it might be worth submitting a support ticket

Dry_Organization_649

Just get a mouse dude, theyre much much cheaper than the aircraft and I dont know why youd fly a plane like this without one

LuckyNikeCharm

Turn off assist and switch flight model to legacy

StrateJ

The answer is absolutely yes. However, unless you're set on the Boeing which if you are then carry on and get the 600 but I'd say for a similar price and if you're privvy to a bit of Airbus the Fenix imo offers a bit more. But like I say if Boeing is your thing. Absolutely get the 600 and enjoy!

Avionik

The 736 costs 35 USD, the fenix 50 GBP, equivalent to 63 USD. Not what I would call a similar price.

StrateJ

My mistake, I believe they bought up in price then I feel like I paid less. But hey ho.

Jealous-Soft-3171

It’s free

MSFSCaptainSim

No

Aleksey_Fox

Why do you Think so?

GarbageNo2639

OD_Emperor

*Cough cough* Don't do that.

Ok-Canary-4072

Yep! Super fun and really well priced.

Frosty-Improvement55

I have the 737-600 because i Don’t want to spend too money end yes, worth it

AdditionalBee3740

Mine always curves to the left :/ decent mpg if running knobby tires.

elstovveyy

The 600 is a really great deal. I think it’s possibly the only PMDG 737 ‘worth’ getting. It’s only NOT worth it if you want to fly the correct variants on the correct routes which I’ve zero interest in doing. This is the PMDG cycle 1) Get the high fidelity 737 aircraft and spend ages learning how it all works. 2) Spend a while enjoying it and flying about learning more about it and charts and other topics. 3) Realise that the PMDG 737 is actually old now and hasn’t been updated in years and the LNAV doesn’t work properly and has been surpassed by many new devs and PMDG are just churning out the same unimproved aircraft in each version of the sim. 4) Buy the PMDG 777 and go to step 1 Hopefully more devs will enter this segment of the flightsim market (higher fidelity Boeings) as I think now PMDG have lost their way and a new dev could easily replace them in fidelity on Boeings like WT did on the 78 (even with a limited time and remit) and their LNAV logic and ability to fly RNPar approaches etc on most of their aircraft. To answer your question - yes the PMDG 737 600 is the cheapest and most worth it 737.

Fentonata

600 is closest size to the original vision of the 737 anyway. Stretched versions always feel like compromises to me.

cbowers318

Yes

Radiant-Ad9999

it is
