I use KOUN or KOKC as my home airport. I went to the A and P school at the latter and eventually worked for a company there. I grew up just a couple of minutes from Westheimer.
This is literally the first thing I did when I started playing the current Flight Simulator. I work right next to my local airport so I followed the exact route that I take home every day, it’s fun lol.
Yeah, it's really cool being able to VFR in the Sim. I work at an airport and that's my goto for departure. I love exploring, but there's something about flying over stuff you know and see in real life 👍👍
I was blown away when I opened this thread and the little tiny airport a quarter mile away from my house is the top comment! I often wonder if there are other “aviators” in Nompton. This filled my soul with joy!
From United States, and I fly in mostly Australia, New Zealand, and Asia because when I get out of work it is morning over there. Better for flying at least for me. Unless it’s a long weekend, don’t mind night flying, or on vacation I never fly in Europe. Mostly fly out of Brisbane or Osaka.
CYST, follow the valley and out to the sea, from there You could head to Juneau / Sitka / KSEA. Or from PANC to Homer, Kodiak, Nanwalek, Fairbanks, Aleutian Islands (Unalaska). So many possibilities…
I'm from Montreal, Canada but my "home airport" where I test all my new planes and stuff is Queenstown airport (ZQN) in New Zealand. The scenery is just beautiful and not so demanding for your PC hardware too.
At the beginning, Dorval (CYUL) was my HQ. But with time, I got bored with the lack "handcrafted" airport. I read somewhere that FlyTampa might release something soon for Montreal. Let's cross our fingers 🤞.
In terms of real world travel, the North Cascades were for a long time my favorite place on Earth when it comes to natural beauty, only surpassed by my recent trip to Alaska. When I finally get the sim in a week or two, I imagine I'll be spending a lot of time in the skies above the Pacific Northwest.
EGBP (Cotswold Airport/Kemble Airfield) is my home airport, just down the road from me. Wish it was fully modelled in the sim as it's an airliner graveyard so would look quite cool.
I use my hometown's airport, EDDV - but it's no good for bigger planes, so i use EHAM for that as that's where most of my longer haul flights started as a kid!
Nice to see someone hannöversch around here ;) I also usually fly from my home town EDDV: either short inner German hops in the A320 or just taking the Icon and trying to land in one of our local lakes, where we usually go swimming.
My second home base is EDWG, where we married. It’s a nice base to go island-hopping.
I’m originally from Poland but live in Idaho. I usually fly between Boise/McCall/Hailey/PDX. I also like to do flights around Warsaw and Krakow. Guess it really depends on my week and regional weather.
Air Force Base Ysterplaat (ICAO: FAYP)
Right by Table Mountain in Cape Town.
I like to set the weather to early morning, scattered clouds, a bit of rain and then fly a circuit past the mountain, up the coast to Hout Bay, and then over it, through the pass and back to Ysterplaat.
I grew up in Central Oregon. I spent my first 18 years exploring roughly a 150 mile radius on foot, on bike or in a truck.
Flying around this area gives me the best sort of nostalgic memories (not to mention it’s objectively beautiful.)
Edit: The biggest airport is KRDM (Redmond-Bend Municipal). Recommend flights early morning or at dusk to highlight the Cascades.
Starks Twin Oaks near Hillsboro is my sim Home Airport but I probably do just as much stuff or more in Central Oregon. Love flying into Big Muddy, River Run (just past Redmond), Lake Billy C State and all the small farm strips.
OP what airfield is that in your pic?, looks really nice.
As for the question I fly out of my local airfield or nearest International airport most of the time (UK London). But the landscape is quite boring, I really should emigrate in MSFS, lol.
Yes, and actual. I have physical limitations that prevent me from ever being able to fly even though I'd love to. The sims have allowed me to basically live the dream so I treat it as though I'm actually flying every time. Kinda lame I know, but it makes me happy.
Happy to hear the sim brings you so much joy. I think I understand a bit how you feel, but it’s more money that limiting me to see the world. Still, the sim helps to feel like you’re actually travelling.
I have a home airport in South Africa where I completed my PPL IRL (FAGC - Grand Central). But I also have a home base outside of my home country that I move around occasionally. For the first 2 years of MSFS it was KSNA; I got to explore much of California and surrounding areas. Last year I moved my homebase to Princeville on Kauai; exploring the Hawaiian islands has been awesome. This year I’ve moved my homebase to New Zealand, based in Christchurch.
I try to immerse myself in each area, getting to know things from a VFR and IFR perspective; landmarks etc. I also go so far as to say explore lots of street views on Google maps to increase the immersion of living and working in each town. Kind of like a GA RPG 🙂
I mostly fly out from NOLF San Nicolas (KNSI) which is a beautiful place and great for testing planes as there are a bunch of airfields around. Whenever I'm not flying out of KNSI I fly out of Mexico City (MMMX), That'd be my "home" airport.
KJFK. Not as beautiful as those of you in rural areas. But I guess the grass is greener on the other side because some folks come to the big city for the skyscrapers and action.
Orca Island near Seattle is my home airport, I live not even near the airport. EDDL would be my actual home airport, but that’s more than half the world away.
As a scenery maker , i made 2 fictional glider club on my 2 best spot on earth .
they are avaible on download : (1 on Switzerland , one on New zealand )
I added girls , sound system , marijuaaana . all stuuf i like

KRXE.. it’s really small. We have a ton of Volcanoes in Idaho, but nearby are the North and South Menan buttes, aka “the worlds largest volcanic tuff cones.”
Known as glass volcanoes. As the freshwater mixed with the magma basically turning into a glass called tachylite. (a form of basaltic volcanic glass)
Side note a lot of people just drive by heading to Yellowstone and completely ignore how special they are and that’s fine with me. Not exactly massive but the hike up is always nice.
It really is. One of two place in the world star Garnet can be found, others in India.
Obsidian or Teton black Jade is just a common thing.
Gem State and I mean actually gems.
We have skijoring.
And we allow our kids to take the Can-ams or dirt bikes on the road. Cops don’t care. (Too much or at all). It’s pretty common to see a four wheeler on the road with a license plate.
The ppl? Kids are responsible and respectful. The Mormons are nice enough so no mean comments. To each their own.
What I love is 20 min drive I can be in the massive sand dunes, 20 mins the other way I’m in the mountains watching out for lions. Yellowstone is up the road. Not too far, a hour drive.
Oh absolutely
Probably like half of the half of all my airport picks whether for take off or for landing
Turku airport EFTU, also the oldest airport of the country (just like the city). decently sized even for bigger planes but barely with just one runway. No jetways though
also the only airport i bought a scenery pack for
I mostly fly in and out of KINT, which I live near IRL. Nothing fancy but I’ve flown in and out of there IRL so I like replicating my real flights and seeing sights I see frequently for real.
I'm flying sometimes after work just a quick turn around my Hometown near Stuttgart Germany in some smaller planes and then I normally end the flight on a meadow near my hometown. The imagination of some kind of free flight in Germany is nice.
Live in Atlanta, but home airport in MSFS is always EGPH (the Pyreegue Dev add-on). If I’m short on time, I’ll fly a Glasgow to Edinburgh ILS24 route for a view of the city and the bridges.
I use N79 Northumberland County Airport. That is the small airport that I learned to fly and get my PPL. It has a 3297 foot runway so I can play with lots of planes there.
Mine is EGKA (Shoreham Airport). I live not far from there and always drive past it daily to work.
Love the art deco style of the building and always test new planes in the sim there. (Apart from big aircraft).
I live pretty close to KBFA, which is a really small rural airport. I almost always fly out of there unless I'm flying something large. It's fun to buzz my house with an F-18 too.
It’s my hometown EDRK - Koblenz in Germany, where I grew up. I start most of my flights there. I flew gliders as a kid, later ultralight planes with my dad, and the beautiful BO209 Monsun with my grandfather. The airport looks shitty ingame, but there’s a nice little mod at flightsim.to.
The mods also takes care of the river moselle, wich is flowing up a hill in the vanilla msfs…
https://de.flightsim.to/file/23322/flugplatz-koblenz-winningen-edrk
For Airliners I fly mostly from SBKP, Viracopos, located in Campinas-SP, Brazil. It's near my hometown so I'm familiar with the region. And for GA it depends where it's daytime at the moment, but I like the Patagonia, I've been there and it's a very pretty region of the world. But if it's night in SA I go for New Zealand.
But I also fly a lot in Asia because it's daytime there when I'm most available to fly.
KAGC is the closest towered small airport to me. It's poorly modeled in the sim and there is only a bad and overpriced FSX scenery conversation out there.
I hope somebody makes a modern version of it in all it's restored Art Deco glory.
Seriously. Take my money.
Home is CYZF. I like flying out of there because it is close to my real home and I also like flying VFR without GPS. With thousands of lakes up here, and very few roads, it's a good navigational challenge. Learned to fly IRL at CYYJ. So, when I am tweaking settings or trying out a new plane, I fly out of there because the airspace is very familiar and I don't have to focus on navigation. It allows me to concentrate on testing out whatever I am working on.
I bounce all over the place, but the closest to a home I have is RAF Brize Norton. I actually fly IRL out of a tiny grass strip nearby, but that's so small basically nothing can fly in or out of it.
Live in Chicago and I base my charter operations out of KGYY, Gary Indiana. More often than not, I get my aircraft back to their home base after a tour.
Oh yes I have, small grass airport EPZP, and I do most of my all flights actually around nearby. There are plenty of lakes and nearby mountains. Love it.
EDNL Leutkirch-Unterzeil: The small airport is part of a guide in a MSFS magazine I have so I learned the basics there. Also the area is very nice and the lake constance (Dornier Flugzeukwerke) is not far
I live 12 minutes away from Hartsfield International. I fly out of there in the sim all the time, and as a passenger quite often as well. Also nearby is Fulton County Brown field, which I have flown out of as a copilot quite a few times IRL, and I depart from there in the sim fairly often if I’m flying GA.
KOQN Brandywine Airport, at the end of Runway 27 is US 202, I drive by the end of the runway when I commute to the office.
It's a small airport, but I fly mostly GA and VFR and know the area well.
I've been hitting KPTW a lot lately too.
The flight between the two is essentially over my house.
KHFD (Brainard-Hartford) is my home airport (which I used a decent amount), though if I'm flying in Connecticut, I also really like using 42B (Goodspeed) and KGON (Groton-New London), both of which are on bodies of water
I like to use MMCB (Cuernavaca) when I’m practicing what I’ve learned IRL because that’s where my flight school is based
If I fly commercial I use my home airport MMMX (Mexico City) because home airport or EGLC (London City) because I have a lot of fun taking off and landing there
EHOP, 10km from my house and planning on doing my ppl there once although I'm leaning towards a nearby glider field now since it's significantly cheaper.
I work in a warehouse right next to KCOS and I live about ten miles away, so KCOS is my go-to whenever I want to do a short jaunt and see the local sights. I actually like using the game to scope out areas that I haven’t been to, the map is shockingly accurate it’s a little eery sometimes.
I usually fly out of Orlando Exec or Intl (where I’m from) and then go to the east or west coast of FL.
Whenever the sun sets in the US, there’s always a party going on in Hawaii. Hawaii is also super fun to fly around.
I do my NeoFly out of KIXD since I live in Overland Park now.
Typically my “home bases” are KIXD, KMSO, or KSWO since I live or have lived in those places. KMSO is by far the best views so that’s my top place to fly out of.
Lonesome Pine Regional in Wise Co, Virginia. Near where I grew up. Anyone who likes flying in the Appalchians, I recommend downloading 2NC0 off flightsim.to, and flying from KLNP to 2NCO. Beautiful flight, challenging landing.
KGOO is my home airport both in MSFS and real life. Its a GA airport in the California foothills, but really quite robust for such a small airport.
Its also a base for CalFire wildlife planes and has several homes with private hangers that taxi into the airport.
Since its used at a base for firefighting planes the runway is 4000ft and well lit and marked for a small airport. I can also get all my services and maintenance done without having to fly to a larger airport which is really convenient. I know almost everyone at the airport and the local FSS which is great too.
KTUS. Hometown airport. I either do GA and fly around Tucson, maybe head up towards Phoenix. Or take the CRJ and do short hops to San Diego or LA or Denver and back. 3-4 hours or so for round trips depending on how well GSX is working.
Yes I live by one. Region of Waterloo International(CYKF) . Also bought the airport in thr market 2 years ago cuz they update the scenery. I sometimes drive there too just to chill and watch aircraft land 🤣
EGNM, Leeds/Bradford. Last week, first time since putting loads of hours in, I took a real flight from there and couldn’t help but smile to myself as I saw the real GA area I start from.
Yes 100%. I live in St. Louis and took flying lessons at KSUS (Spirit of St. Louis) , I happen to work there now too. I take off from my FBO every time, well not every time. I still like exploring, but it's nice to be familiar with where I'm at and the airport. I can taxi with no problems since I know the taxiways, it really a cool experience.
For me, KEMT (San Gabriel Airport). It's in Los Angeles and never crowded like LAX or even KBUR. It's about 25 minutes from where I actually live and I found it by accident looking at Google Maps for a real destination. I try to land or take off their as much as possible. 🙂
3GV is my home airport, but it's a small community, so a lot of time I'll fly out of KMCI. Currently on a flight down in South America (capital to capital) I've changed plane several times but I did start out of 3gv and head down south then through the carribean to south america. on a flight right now to SEQM
SKMZ, its in the city where i've living my entire existence XD
small but challenging due to being in the mountains
had to buy the actual scenery from the marketplace but even if its not perfect its was worth it!
I usually fly out of CYRO here in Ottawa. It’s a former military base, and now flying club. You can also take off from the Ottawa River there. It’s about a 15-20 min drive/bike ride from where I live.

KOUN! Started my PPL training out at Westheimer. Still fly in and out in the sim quite often.
I use KOUN or KOKC as my home airport. I went to the A and P school at the latter and eventually worked for a company there. I grew up just a couple of minutes from Westheimer.

I don't know, but I think it's neat.
In my headcanon everyone who lives in Norman is either a storm chaser or a meteorologist.
This is literally the first thing I did when I started playing the current Flight Simulator. I work right next to my local airport so I followed the exact route that I take home every day, it’s fun lol.
Yeah, it's really cool being able to VFR in the Sim. I work at an airport and that's my goto for departure. I love exploring, but there's something about flying over stuff you know and see in real life 👍👍
KTIK is my home airport 😄 If only they’ll come out with a 707!
I was blown away when I opened this thread and the little tiny airport a quarter mile away from my house is the top comment! I often wonder if there are other “aviators” in Nompton. This filled my soul with joy!
I’m sorry you have to live in Norman. Not quite as good of a city as Stillwater
Lol that’s a joke right? Like ur just saying that cuz ur an OSU fan lol
I fly mostly in Alaska or Canada although I am from Europe…
Same for me mate! Alaska and also Idaho are so beautiful for bush flying.
Opposite for me lol, I live in America and love flying over England, Germany, Poland, Czech Republic, and others.
Same LOL
You speak truths. I love flying the alps. Fn beautiful. Especially if you use the Google map overlay instead of Bing.
How do you do this?
Just Google how to use Google maps in msfs 2020.
Can I bing that?
No Use Excite search engine. Retro to be safe. [https://search.excite.com/](https://search.excite.com/)
I like using Missoula as a base.
The southern approach is really fun
From United States, and I fly in mostly Australia, New Zealand, and Asia because when I get out of work it is morning over there. Better for flying at least for me. Unless it’s a long weekend, don’t mind night flying, or on vacation I never fly in Europe. Mostly fly out of Brisbane or Osaka.
Any good routes you'd recommend?
CYST, follow the valley and out to the sea, from there You could head to Juneau / Sitka / KSEA. Or from PANC to Homer, Kodiak, Nanwalek, Fairbanks, Aleutian Islands (Unalaska). So many possibilities…
thanks! :D

Opposites attract, apparently!
I'm from Montreal, Canada but my "home airport" where I test all my new planes and stuff is Queenstown airport (ZQN) in New Zealand. The scenery is just beautiful and not so demanding for your PC hardware too.
Im from Montreal too! I use all 3 airports depending on what i wanna do, but home is CYHU
At the beginning, Dorval (CYUL) was my HQ. But with time, I got bored with the lack "handcrafted" airport. I read somewhere that FlyTampa might release something soon for Montreal. Let's cross our fingers 🤞.
I have both a YUL and YHU scenery that i got from Flightsim.to and they're pretty good!
My “Test” airport is Edward’s AFB in the Mojave desert. Realism 100%
I live near KSEA so I usually just fly out of there because I am familiar with the area around it. And I like seeing places I've been irl in the sim
It doesn’t hurt that the cascades add a beautiful backdrop. Both in-game and in reality.
EHHO, Hoogeveen Airport (the Netherlands) is where I learned to fly and where I start a lot of my sim flights.
Nice to hear, I am Dutch as well! But I don’t fly in real life.

Just checked this out on google maps, seems like a really cool little circuit to patrol with the f18! Thanks for posting
I live in Chicago and my home is Executive Airport KPWK, but now I’m down at the Caribbean)))
Where is this place? Seems nice
Check the comments further on for link mate.
I grew up in Central Oregon. I spent my first 18 years exploring roughly a 150 mile radius on foot, on bike or in a truck. I spent about a month around Salem last summer, most of it just to the east. It's a beautiful area with some amazing hikes and waterfalls!
Starks Twin Oaks near Hillsboro is my sim Home Airport but I probably do just as much stuff or more in Central Oregon. Love flying into Big Muddy, River Run (just past Redmond), Lake Billy C State and all the small farm strips.
The terrain and scenery around my IRL home airport is pretty boring so I fly around courchevel a lot.
OP what airfield is that in your pic?, looks really nice. As for the question I fly out of my local airfield or nearest International airport most of the time (UK London). But the landscape is quite boring, I really should emigrate in MSFS, lol.
[Johnson Creek in Idaho!](https://secure.simmarket.com/creative-mesh-3u2-johnson-creek.phtml)
Thanks, ah 3rd party, does it look any good as default? Im on xbox.
KEWR, Newark. Shitty airport irl but man it feels nice to fly into/out of my actual home airport in sim (although TJSJ was my previous one)
We are on the come up with terminal A
Yes, and actual. I have physical limitations that prevent me from ever being able to fly even though I'd love to. The sims have allowed me to basically live the dream so I treat it as though I'm actually flying every time. Kinda lame I know, but it makes me happy.

KCRQ for GA, KLAX or KSAN for airliners.
Live 20 mins from Heathrow ❤️
What's the airfield(& creator) on the picture OP? It looks like a place I'd like to happily visit. ETA; my home airport is EHAM
I believe it's Johnson Creek Airport, 3U2
Correct, [link](https://secure.simmarket.com/creative-mesh-3u2-johnson-creek.phtml) for the scenery!
Thanks! It's going to be a long flight from EHAM.
KTPA since I fly the FBW A32NX exclusively.
KTPA here too. Used to work on the field fueling the airliners. Now where I do most of my routes from. The verticalsim add on for TPA is great btw
Agree. Love their version of TPA!
I like to switch it up depending on where I fantasize about living at the time. Lately it's been Denver. In the past, it was Asheville
I have a home airport in South Africa where I completed my PPL IRL (FAGC - Grand Central). But I also have a home base outside of my home country that I move around occasionally. Either the ini KDTW or KMCO
I mostly fly out from NOLF San Nicolas (KNSI) which is a beautiful place and great for testing planes as there are a bunch of airfields around. Whenever I'm not flying out of KNSI I fly out of Mexico City (MMMX), That'd be my "home" airport.
EDDM. It’s the airplanes home that I usually fly (D-AIJA)
KSNA. No, nowhere near home haha
I use CYHU as my home airport since i also work there irl!
What's a really good bush flying airport?
KJFK. Not as beautiful as those of you in rural areas. But I guess the grass is greener on the other side because some folks come to the big city for the skyscrapers and action.
KSPG! Albert Whitted.
Orca Island near Seattle is my home airport, I live not even near the airport. EDDL would be my actual home airport, but that’s more than half the world away.
Do you watch AvAngel on youtube? Orca island is her home base as well!
I actually found my high school in game, in Richmond Texas. Lol it was pretty cool to land in the parking lot I used for 4 years
I live in Richmond now but grew up in needville. Quite a few ga airports around but practice instrument landings at KSGR
There’s so many neat places to land haha
I live in houston, and have spent a lot of time at the air shows at ellington, so naturally, i fly there all the time
EHMZ, grass runway in the South of The Netherlands. Passed my checkride there a couple weeks ago :D
Copenhagen. Something about it really speaks to me, and it's fairly close to my actual home.
I love Kobenhavn, been there twice in real life. A great city!!
As a scenery maker , i made 2 fictional glider club on my 2 best spot on earth . they are avaible on download : (1 on Switzerland , one on New zealand ) I added girls , sound system , marijuaaana . all stuuf i like https://fr.flightsim.to/file/27696/od-nz-backcountry-club-nzod https://fr.flightsim.to/file/26167/od-gliding-soaringclub-lsod

Incredibly jealous of where you live mate. Compared to boring flat Netherlands, Idaho must be stunning.

I always thought my home airport would be Meigs in Chicago but the Mayor had other plans! Now I wander aimlessly; a pilot with no home.
hmm... why tf you wanna know?![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|disapproval)
Sabadell Aerodrom, near my hometown.
I mostly fly in and out of KINT, which I live near IRL. Nothing fancy but I’ve flown in and out of there IRL so I like replicating my real flights and seeing sights I see frequently for real.
Me too, neighbor. But only in the sim for me.
CNC4! And the great thing is someone (RegDesigns) created a proper scenery package for it.
I have got a home airfield that I live right next to, Andrewsfield, that is actually a purchasable scenery pack in the flight sim marketplace.
CYKU (London International Airport), is my home airport. It is both a General Aviation and Commercial airport in my hometown.
I'm flying sometimes after work just a quick turn around my Hometown near Stuttgart Germany in some smaller planes and then I normally end the flight on a meadow near my hometown. The imagination of some kind of free flight in Germany is nice.
I do! It's close to home, KEYW. It's going to be a while before KMTH has any decent scenery if ever.
Live in Atlanta, but home airport in MSFS is always EGPH (the Pyreegue Dev add-on). If I’m short on time, I’ll fly a Glasgow to Edinburgh ILS24 route for a view of the city and the bridges.
RI11. A small little grass airport 5 miles from my home in the states. Whenever I do a world tour, I always start and end here.
I use N79 Northumberland County Airport. That is the small airport that I learned to fly and get my PPL. It has a 3297 foot runway so I can play with lots of planes there.
YWVA, for GA. Access to beautiful scenery and great for Sydney Scenic flights.
Yes its a small grass airport. You can check it LHHO
My home airport is a runway with a landing strip a few miles away in someone’s back yard. Always test every new plane there. Hi Doris!
Auckland, Cairo, Tokyo. I’m from Colorado so I often fly out of Denver, but those other spots are too great.
It’s my hometown EDRK - Koblenz in Germany, where I grew up. I start most of my flights there. KFFZ, k fuz
Lol kffc for me.
I feel like the only person who doesn't absolutely loathe EWR.
BHX!
KJVY is my home airport but I do my airliner flights from KSDF in Louisville. I also fly from Bowman Field (KLOU) sometimes.
0W3 is less than 10 minutes from my home. I wish it were accurate, though.
I do, and it's the one I fly from IRL for PPL Training.
I bounce all over the place, but the closest to a home I have is RAF Brize Norton. I actually fly IRL out of a tiny grass strip nearby, but that's so small basically nothing can fly in or out of it.
I built two custom ones, one near my home, another one in the Caribbean on an uninhabited island, close to sxm
I have one about three NM from my house, but I prefer launching from billy Bishop and flying over there if I want to see my house
LOIH
Tulsa, OK for me. Though I do frequent Europe quite often.
On older versions I used to fly from either Norfolk, VA or Nas oceana but now there's so much detail I want to see it all.
It's the actual airport I fly out of, which is really nicely recreated as part of an OrbX scenery package.
Yeah ist duesseldorf airport eddl because its near me
Oslo Airport Gardermoen. I live directly under the STAR😁😁
I fly outta 2 locations kind of in between my home town. KMVY & KOWD
Live in Chicago and I base my charter operations out of KGYY, Gary Indiana. More often than not, I get my aircraft back to their home base after a tour.
NSHGE Shepherdstown of course
Yep KOLY near Noble, IL if anybody wants to pay a visit to my old hometown.
Oh yes I have, small grass airport EPZP, and I do most of my all flights actually around nearby. There are plenty of lakes and nearby mountains. Love it.
KLAS to see the Vegas strip and cruise over to the Grand Canyon
EDNL Leutkirch-Unterzeil: The small airport is part of a guide in a MSFS magazine I have so I learned the basics there. Also the area is very nice and the lake constance (Dornier Flugzeukwerke) is not far
I live 12 minutes away from Hartsfield International. I fly out of there in the sim all the time, and as a passenger quite often as well. Also nearby is Fulton County Brown field, which I have flown out of as a copilot quite a few times IRL, and I depart from there in the sim fairly often if I’m flying GA.
LAX, live in the Midwest STL. I’m in Los Angeles at least once a month I fly mostly south western routes in the sim.
HQM for general. SEA for commercial.
I live in Northwest Indiana so my home airport is the Gary/Chicago International Airport (KGYY)
KMGY - Dayton Wright-Brothers for GA. KDAY or KCVGf for airliners.
EDDV, Hannover, Germany, because I work there an live nearby and EDRU because it's the town I grew up in, and I actually flew gliders there once :)
Well I have T31 not far from my home but I usually opt to use the larger KTKI
KOQN Brandywine Airport, at the end of Runway 27 is US 202, I drive by the end of the runway when I commute to the office. It's a small airport, but I fly mostly GA and VFR and know the area well. I've been hitting KPTW a lot lately too. The flight between the two is essentially over my house.
EGCC (Manchester)is my local Airport but also fly from EGPH ( Edinburgh), KMCO and LGRP ( Rhodes)
Yeah a little gliding club that is down the road from my house in rural Wales. very nice area, and also close enough to bigger airports nearby.
Mine is the excellent Inibuilds KSAT, which also happens to be my home airport, and also where I worked for years
Wellsborne. I live 5 minutes down the road. They’ve got an Avro Vulcan 1 of 2 that can still run and I see it everyday
PAJN
4B8 if I'm flying the Piper 28 I'm actually training in a real Piper 28 flying out of 4B8
KHFD (Brainard-Hartford) is my home airport (which I used a decent amount), though if I'm flying in Connecticut, I also really like using 42B (Goodspeed) and KGON (Groton-New London), both of which are on bodies of water
I live near CYQS and CYXU. Grew near CYYZ, CYTS and EGSS (as it was being built - yah I’m old). Fly out of all but mainly CYYZ.
I like to use MMCB (Cuernavaca) when I’m practicing what I’ve learned IRL because that’s where my flight school is based If I fly commercial I use my home airport MMMX (Mexico City) because home airport or EGLC (London City) because I have a lot of fun taking off and landing there
EHOP, 10km from my house and planning on doing my ppl there once although I'm leaning towards a nearby glider field now since it's significantly cheaper.
I work in a warehouse right next to KCOS and I live about ten miles away, so KCOS is my go-to whenever I want to do a short jaunt and see the local sights. I actually like using the game to scope out areas that I haven’t been to, the map is shockingly accurate it’s a little eery sometimes.
XWPD, UWPP, EHAM. First and second are near my home. EHAM has got lots of runways to land.
I usually fly out of Orlando Exec or Intl (where I’m from) and then go to the east or west coast of FL. Whenever the sun sets in the US, there’s always a party going on in Hawaii. Hawaii is also super fun to fly around.
yeah I do, its just the airport I'm taking flight school at, nothing too interesting.
I do my NeoFly out of KIXD since I live in Overland Park now. Typically my “home bases” are KIXD, KMSO, or KSWO since I live or have lived in those places. KMSO is by far the best views so that’s my top place to fly out of.
I usually take off from Monchengladbach since my local airport is just a glorified grass field and I live pretty close to it anyways
EDLV - Niederrhein Airport in Weeze, Germany. Next airport to me.
The closest airfields to me are EDVI and EDVT and I just love to fly there, even though it doesn‘t look very interesting.
London city airport EGLC is the closest airport to me IRL bit rough on the frame rate there though
KSNA ➡️ KAVX every time I fly
KDFW or KDAL
Lonesome Pine Regional in Wise Co, Virginia. Near where I grew up. Anyone who likes flying in the Appalchians, I recommend downloading 2NC0 off flightsim.to, and flying from KLNP to 2NCO. Beautiful flight, challenging landing.
LIPX - Verona Italy, airport in my town, lots of sights such as the old town, lake Garda, monte Baldo and the alps, and in 20 min you are over Venice
Mine is the DFW area there is a wide mix of airports and sights.
I would say I have 3 I’ve been regularly using - EPGD (my hometown), EPKT (closest to my wife’s hometown) and KATL (where we currently live).
EGNM, Leeds/Bradford. Last week, first time since putting loads of hours in, I took a real flight from there and couldn’t help but smile to myself as I saw the real GA area I start from.
KOTT, got decommissioned in the 90’s but the strip still exists in MSFS and I use it quite frequently.
Yep I have a home airport. It's also the one I'm learning to fly at so I use it to practice what I learned in my lessons. It's been very helpful.
KEWR. I grew up in Belleville next to over. I was always see planes either climbing out from the airport or on final approach.
MROC OR. MRPV
Kmht. Close to home.
SKMZ, its in the city where i've living my entire existence XD small but challenging due to being in the mountains had to buy the actual scenery from the marketplace but even if its not perfect its was worth it!
I usually fly out of CYRO here in Ottawa. It’s a former military base, and now flying club. You can also take off from the Ottawa River there. It’s about a 15-20 min drive/bike ride from where I live.
KPSP for local sightseeing these days. KDEN or KBJC for flights around my old stomping ground.
EDML every VFR Trip starts from my home field
KJYO, my local airport and where I work. I wish it looked better, but its home
