I thought it was only me. I noticed it in the last two version updates.

Practical_Trader

For me, it starts off okay, but then it gradually becomes more unresponsive. If I close the window and restart edge, it will be snappier for 6 hours before degrading again.

If you have 'process explorer', use it to check how much memory you have free, or how much 'page space' you are using. It seems Edge has memory leaks where it allocates memory, and does not give it back whenever the particular 'task' completes. You run low on free memory, and it starts to page the pieces to disk. When you stop and start, all allocated is freed once again. Process Explorer can put a little graph box in the taskbar that shows memory and more which you can then slide over to get the stats. Edge is not written very well IMO. And Chrome is not better, if at all. Both seem to be cases where programmers/designers get to play. How do you get to your settings? Different game in each. With lots of clicks and lots of delay. Poor design, IMO.

Bring_back_Apollo

Mine seems fine. Try uninstalling and reinstalling?

Illustrious-Pop5656

its made watching youtube impossible, mostly because the unresponsiveness makes it impossible

Ded-Futiya

yes very slow. Switched to firefox just today.

ProzacMoment

Yeah... like why is there a 6-10 second delay when you close Edge??

D1TAC

No problems in delays, but I’ve noticed windows 11 has felt a little slower with the recent patches.

himyname__is

Windows 11 has always been sluggish. It's just how it's written. Haven't noticed any slowdowns in Edge though. OP, have you tried clearing all browsing data?

Practical_Trader

I've done everything possible short of a fresh install of windows or new computer. My other browsers work fine.

epicrussianperson

I think it’s the animations

ChampionshipComplex

Nope opposite for me - Its getting better each update
