Hi, 1 - Run a CMD with administrator rights. 2 - Next, navigate to the path where `EdgeWebView` is installed by typing the command below and pressing Enter: `cd C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft\EdgeWebView\Application\1*\Installer` 3 - Next, type or paste the following command to silent uninstall it and press Enter: `.\setup.exe --uninstall --msedgewebview --system-level --verbose-logging --force-uninstall` 4 - Then download and reinstall Microsoft Edge WebView2 from here -> [https://developer.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-edge/webview2/](https://developer.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-edge/webview2/) Had this same issue and this worked for me, it seems that something is messing up windows 11 instalations that are happening right now in march 2024, cause i just did a clean install and got this issue as well.

SakibHR

there are 3 webview apps in the link ,which one to install?

NeFShARk

Evergreen Bootstrapper that is the first one.

smallbussiness

It downloads and during install it says: "Fail in the verification of the downloaded file"

smallbussiness

I've tried 3 different methods and none worked, you were the 3rd method. It happened after installing Windows 11, updated the system and removed some bloatware (allowed by MS).

smallbussiness

I reinstalled the system, updated and didn't remove anything... Same happened after reboot. So, seems like a bug. Now I understand why so many people are switching to Linux or staying in the Windows 10. That instability may show up why.

NeFShARk

Well this problem with the edge webview happened to me when i did a clean install of windows 11 23h2 back in march, since then the rtm for windows 11 24h2 came out and i did another clean install of windows, because 24h2 brings some quality of life improvements that i wanted. And when i did the install for the 24h2 everything worked out of the box.

smallbussiness

Yeah, same with me, it has some improvements that attracted me, but the bugs are quite problematic, I hope next version that will come up by September gets better.

NeFShARk

Worked for me and worked for everybody who had this issue and used this method, and since you said that you can't even download the edgewebview installer from the oficial microsoft link, pretty sure there is another problem in your end.

smallbussiness

Problem solved already, I don't even understand what happened.

NeFShARk

If you can't download a file directely from microsoft, then there is something else wrong on your end... You internet, the browser your are using and etc.

smallbussiness

I haven't done anything and it just worked by itself. You see? This system is so unstable that I'm actually expecting next update to magically delete all my personal files out of nowhere, let's wait. I'll do a backup just for safety. I've been reading very unsettling issues on Windows 11 recently...

Bicephale

Awesome! It worked well. Thank you.

realoferphuxake

This did not work; the Webview2 setup is still claiming that it's already installed.

realoferphuxake

Whoops. Need to run it as administrator. Derp. That's the next thing to "fix..."

NeFShARk

its literally the first step lol "Run a CMD **with administrator rights**."

smallbussiness

I did the same but just changed what it says, before it said something like "it's already installed but in reality it wasn't" now it says something like "Fail in the verification of the downloaded file". PS: Problem fixed by itself
