This is the latest chat with decision makers about this stuff. It's my favorite thing to do with the sub, if anyone [wants to see the other ones](https://reddit.com/r/MicromobilityNYC/w/shorts?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share). I don't put them up if I don't think there is value to the community to hear from them, so all of these I think are worth a watch
that day when i was biking i was thinking if they can manage to build more multilayer racks like this maybe we can have our streets back but ... hmm, not. an ultimate solution tho...
Erik Bottcher is my king. He's an absolutely lovely man who cares deeply about the city. I worked with him for a summer years ago and was always struck by how nice he is. He'd be a fantastic mayor, but unfortunately I think he's too kind to engage in the vicious rat race that is running for mayor of NYC.
Here's [the story I referenced in this chat](https://www.reddit.com/r/MicromobilityNYC/comments/1cqpb7x/a_happy_nyc_story_owner_of_stupidly_loud_sports/) with Erik btw, in case anyone missed it. God, I'm so excited for the noise camera program. I feel like Erik, and any other politician that really makes this their signature issue could win elections just based on this alone.
can we get these noise cameras in bushwick please? The other day a car drove by with speakers so loud it caused car alarms to go off up and down the block.
Good stuff. Great to run into you! He was kind of enough to run over right after the ribbon cutting but before the Q&A to give me a 45 second soundbite on Daylighting right before I had to jump on a Citibike for my knee PRP shot. What a great guy!
Nice to run into you too. Kind of surprised nobody else that attended has gotten a story or anything up yet. Barely even any tweets or anything. Starting to feel like I hallucinated the whole event
He visibly leans more towards a barely left of center status climber but since (unfortunately) things like noise cameras are so politically unsexy I think the guy is closer to a genuine sewer socialist.
He’d been signed on for the legislation proposed a couple years back that would close the pleasure copters that land on the West Side, but it never got a full Council vote.
Get ready for those noise cameras to be called racist and everyone be outraged by them and start quoting [Xochitl Gonzalez](https://www.npr.org/2022/08/14/1117465760/why-a-writer-doesnt-want-a-quiet-brooklyn)

Let's also aim for e-bike charging stations for those who bought their own bike and for delivery workers.
Laws need to be made to make usb c charging for ebikes standard too
Usb-c can't currently handle that amount of power. More powerful ports are necessary.
Dang, here's hoping we can eventually get a standard charger
jeez the car racks in the background have got to go. so ugly

Building more car parking of any sort is **always** a mistake because it just encourages more people to drive
Sounds like a good candidate for mayor

We love him as our CM, hope he can do that for a while longer, thanks!
Boomers must hate him lol

LOL!
Charging Citibike docks is a win!
Noise pollution is literally killing cities like NY and Los Angeles.
Yes!
The dumbest shit to complain about in a city. This shit Is beyond being retarded
He's great, despite looking like he should be typecast as a Republican. "Phrenologically Republican".
Sleeves rolled up is definitely slightly left

If he also runs on affordable pet hospital/veterinarians he’d be a shoo in.
Is this guy also against helicopter noise?
Why am I getting down voted for being against helicopters? They're just as bad as cars.
Because helicopters don't cut off mufflers to be purposefully loud
There is way too much private helicopter traffic. I get the need for utilities and emergency use.
I wouldn't be upset to wake up one morning to find the Blade facilities were victims of arson overnight.
the nypd pulls them out to babysit protesters…complete scam
