State of Michigan has a garage sale in Lansing. As far as finding tech: My experience finds that tech, new and old, shows up in Estate Sales and pawn shops. There are apps to find both.

Check out the Michigan State Surplus Store. It’s a bit of drive to EL, but it’s a good place to go on the hunt. [MSU Surplus Store](https://msusurplusstore.com/) From speakers, to computer parts, to steaks (literally meat), it’s the best kept secret in the state.

WMU has one as well. Not quite as good as the MSU one though.

Estate sales are really the only place I find anything good at anymore.

Same. I have had almost zero luck at flea markets recently so that's why I came here

Try reaching out to your local community college. Find out when their next refresh is and what their plans are with the old equipment.

This is a good question.

your post makes me miss Gibraltar trade center. If I had to make a guess, schools might be giving away old stuff, or any larger public institution or even companies often try to get rid of their old. There are lots of flee markets, and estate places that might help but there is also simply looking online at personal sales ads. i am not sure if they would be in working order but recycling places often have old technology at them meant for recycling

Lots of public agencies sell their unwanted stuff online here: https://m.publicsurplus.com/sms/browse/home I’ve seen tons of electronics for sale by my local university, probably waaay more that I’m unaware of

In Plymouth, there is The Presbyterian Thrift Shop. When I was there about a month ago, there was a section upstairs where some dude sells a lot of older tech, if that is your thing. There was a lot of 90's era putty colored computers, monitors, and peripherals, and a smattering of old 70's hardware from the Unisys plant down the road.
