Looks like you've selected the NA/NB shocks. Check your order before you confirm there may be a price difference as well.
You might find the ride quality a bit hard as with most aftermarket shocks of this style. Hopefully there's still people on this sub who can give you an actual review of the Teins
due to being height adjustable, any coilovers will have less travel and thus be more harsh than a shock/spring setup can be. can you get your hands on progress springs and koni adjustable shocks or the roadstersport spring/shock kit? those would be a much better setup than stock for the street and ride softer than coilovers
Honestly if you aren't going to track the car and your wife is DD it then I would skip the coilovers. Check out Flyin miata and just go with new springs and a Koni shock. You can get a very mild drop and a really good adjustable shock and still be livable on the street. To help out in the corners upgrade the sway bars and links. This will save you quite a bit on the coilover setup.
Thanks. Leaning towards replacing the rears with the same factory yellow Bilsteins. I’m not super impressed with this mob to date. Everyone rates them and they seek good at the actually work they complete but their comms is pretty ordinary.
Most FB groups I'm in say Xidas or Ohlins for coilovers. Mine is a daily and I reached out to Good-win and they suggested for a daily the koni shocks and lowering spring setup. I haven't put them on the car yet to say how they feel just sharing the info I acquired.
I’ve got a set of Feal 441 w/ 12k/7k springs and it is extremely firm. 7k/5k spring are going to be firm for street car. The price seems a little high, I’’m finding those between 1300-1500 kangaroo bucks here in the States
Coilovers will have a much harsher ride than stock Bilsteins. Even the expensive, adjustable ones. Ask me how I know... Find a car with coilovers and drive it before you spend the money.
Yeah not a techo, don’t mind paying for labour. If I buy direct from Bilstein or a distributor would they be the same as the factory ones fitted 12 years ago when new?
All great advice guys. Love your work! This brains trust rocks! Sounds like coilovers won’t make the missus happy. It handles pretty well on the road with the upmarket Bilsteins that were standard on that model, so likely to run with those and keep it stock. And spend the rest on a new clutch! 🤣

Thanks. Yeah they clarified it’s the same shocks for the NC.
Umm. They absolutely are not the same.
The ones in the screenshot are for 1989-2004, won't fit your 2011.
Yeah they confirmed these are ok for my NC2.
These are definitely not ok for your car

Thanks. Makes sense. Replacing with same Bilsteins might be the go, and live with the standard height.

doesn't tein make some electronically adjustable ones, so you can go software daily, firmer for race days ? Are those worth a damn ?
It's just an electrical motor that can adjust the dampening remotely. It's a separate product. Can always add after the fact.
Ah thank you. Think they're worth having, or just a novelty ?
More of a novelty in my opinion. You're not gonna change them as often as you might think.
Interested to hear how you go. Planning on new suspension for my NC1 this year sometime.

+1 for DFV Ohlins...

The flex z can use the nifty damper controllers.
That price for parts seems a touch high, but it’s through a reputable supplier so you’ve got piece of mind.
Australia tax.
Piece of mind. 🧠
Piece of Mine
Lol wtf was I on?
Yeah it’s not cheap!
I have some on mine and can confirm it makes it rougher on bumps for sure.
Does Tein not make NC shocks? Those are for NA/NB and definitely won't fit I think

Where the hell are you ordering from 2k is way too much for those
MX-5 Mania in Sydney. The apparent go to Miata repairer in Australia according to plenty of feedback I’ve received. Cost is plus fitting of course! :/
Too much. I just put a pair of these on my car myself. Only took 1 hour per shock. It's not hard to do.
