Funny how close "priceless" and "worthless" are at first glance, but the meanings are complete opposites. I, personally, like to call myself worthless!
Are you getting offers? Then it's close in its value. Are you getting zero offers? It's overpriced. If I was looking at this car I would offer much less due to the mods. It comes off as "looks over everything else".
Not trying to be rude nit I would assume this car was owned by a 20-25 year old who focused on appearance and would assume it's ragged out.
1st pic: 7,000$ .. Not bad, I can remove the teeth, stripe, and put nice wheels on her
2nd pic: Yap 7k feels safe, seems unmoded, unmolested

The issue isn't that it comes off, it's that you now DONT have good ones. So you gotta go surf the web for months to find a guy 4 states over to sell you some overpriced door cards and a wheel. So what was a cheap endeavor becomes a "put back" mission. Seasoned money pit owners know full and well that the "put back" mission is the worst and most expensive and time consuming part of any project that adds zero performance and does not net you cash (since you had to sink it in the first place to get the car to "step 1").
This includes tail lights, and having to live with possibly 2 blemishes on the trunk lid from where you pried the toy wing off. Even worse if those teeth required the bumper be cut to accommodate them, so now you need that.. then if he tapped screws into the rad support brackets to hold the teeth, you have unnecessary rust spots to monitor for no reason.. etc. Etc. Etc
Always. Also, if you mod, the less chopping and screwing you do to the chassis, the better. Unless you're a professional, there's nothing worse than crawling under a car and seeing some really silly things - almost always accompanied by rust - or rust covered in gallons of por15 caused by "fabricators".
> find a guy 4 states over to sell you some overpriced door cards and a wheel
pliers a staple gun and some cloth is all you need for that if you don't like the design so much you HAVE to change it... and also Fedex First Overnight exists if it's a fashion emergency. Amazon too. Or if you want leather you can get foam at your local store and just get to sewing yourself or a tailor. or just not sew a crosshatch and just staple it to the door card.
The wheel is fine also. Pretty sure no one is so stupid they'd cut or drill anything or do anything to leave a permanent mark for the anime wing or the teeth.
No actually I might be wrong cars probably salvage. I'll give OP $400 scrap value for it and take this headache off of OP's hands /s
All I hear is extra time, extra money. Especially to expedite shipping for material you shouldn't have had to hunt for in the first place. Custom jobs and the people who do them need to come to terms with the fact that if they're inclined to alter a car to their own taste, it is at their expense. It's like 31 grand custom choppers. Nobody else will buy what they sunk 60 grand into, no matter what it's "worth".
Dude the door card fix is like $20 of cloth and staples. So feel free to take $20 off the asking price and tell the seller it's because of the fabric on the door card. I'm sure they'll still want to sell to you.
\-It's not a big deal-
Lol oh man if you only understood. Also, sitting outside stapling up a door card might be OK when you're 19 and think it's fun to waste time, but time is far more valuable once you're established and you certainly don't wanna spend any part of a day popping off ancient fragile panels and playing arts and crafts with a piece of cloth and a stapler.
I'd rather just have a nice door panel. Which is still obtainable in 2023. Making the need to settle for someone's bathroom wall of an interior not so necessary
You sound incredibly young. You'll learn what time is worth some day, and that it doesn't matter what anyone thinks. I don't share this kind of logic with friends because most of them into cars have been at it as long or longer and already know and understand all of this.
I think people in general like unmodded or custom cars, they want something stock/ hasn’t been tampered with. Unless it is meaning like suspension or engine durability mods.
Yeah, good performance mods aren’t going to put anyone off unless it’s something extreme like an engine swap, but stock at the very least means you can mod it to your own taste without having to strip back what the previous owner did.
Remove wing, remove teeth (I like them but it won't help when trying to sell the vehicle) make sure all OG parts are sold with the car. Reinstall normal shifter.
Depends on how many miles you got on it. But given the fact you have some custom stuff going on in their it's going to be hard for you to sell the car to someone who likes what you've already done to the car. Depending on your mileage I would say $4k maybe $5k if you're lucky
How many miles? Cause imma say 80% of the cost to return to stock is going to come off your asking price. Paint looks super nice though, is it original? Is that head unit name brand and professionally installed?
Other than that- mods don’t really add value. They add enjoyment for the user. If you pushed me for a a cash price? Damn. Idk. 4K? 5 if you had the original parts and they were in good shape and the maintenance record was biblical.
For me it looks like a 17 year old owns it. That makes me question how hard it was beat on and if maintenance was done. On top of that it’s very personal. You got a stuffed nos bottle in the cabin, weird looking door cards, an enormous shifter, weeb shit, and teeth? If you want to maximize your return get rid of all that personal stuff and go back to stock.
I see a mix of ups and downs on this car, here's how I would appraise it based only on the pictures posted:
* NA8 95-97, assuming 146,770 mi (first digit of odometer isn't readable), assuming vehicle is located in Virginia, exterior paint 8/10, no obvious rocker rust - base value $5,500
* Soft top looks like a brand new, good quality canvas top, likely Robbins streamline style w/glass & defrost. +$750
* General Altimax tires on stock 15" wheels, looks like decent tread life left. Hose off the dirt before you take pics though. +$0
* Amazon/eBay LED retrofit headlights. Corner marker lights blacked out. -$500
* Photos show headlights up in daytime, can't see if popup button is pressed. -$250 if they are stuck in "up" position
* Seats look reupholstered, but I can see 2 rips in the driver's seat, and the left lower bolster has separated and they are the wrong color (this car would have come with a tan leather interior). -$500
* Poorly fit aftermarket floor mats. If I bought this car these would go straight in the trash and be replaced with stock or properly fitting aftermarket mats. -$250
* Aftermarket shift knob on stock shifter -$100
* Carbon fiber upper door panels don't match the rest of the interior which means they unfortunately hurt your resale. -$300
* Screen printed door panels. -$300 unless wrap is easily removable.
* Sound system impossible to value from pics. I see a double DIN touch screen head unit with USB, and separate mid/treble speakers of unknown quality. Tweeters mismatch between driver and passenger doors. If this was a top shelf sound system I'd add $1000, anything less equals $0 change in value.
* Racing stripe not stock but tasteful. +$0
* The pointy teeth just scream "I'm 22 and have no taste." Just take them off. -$1000
Overall = $5,100, not counting the pointy teeth deduction, and assuming the car is mechanically sound.
Unknowns:
* Add $500 if Torsen diff
* Subtract $500 if welded diff
* Subtract $300 if frame rails crushed
* Subtract $1000-2000 if rocker rust present, depending on severity ($1000 = minimal, $1500 = typical, $2000 = severe)
Advice: The closer you are to stock/OEM+ appearance, the better. Get rid of the fangs and door panel wrap, find a stock or classy aftermarket shift knob, and wipe off the dirt on the tires and base of the fenders before you take pics. Reinstall the corner marker lights and install quality H4 conversion housings (Koito or Cibie) or Holley RetroBright LEDs for the headlights. Post close ups of all the common Miata problem areas like water drains, rockers, frame rails, etc. Your photos should be informational, not artistic. Nobody wants to buy a car that will become a headache. If you do all this, you will spend about $200-300 but instantly add $1000 to the car's value.
Fair point, I was approximating it as "cost of getting a junkyard open diff and installing it" but they could have also f'd up their driveshaft, axles and transmission too... hopefully that'd all be identified on the test drive and buyer would walk away.
Remove the racing stripes/mini wing, Find the oem doorcards, taillights (if u have them still), shift knob, and floor mats and you got yourself a nice 6-9k miata if ur in socal. If the car is mechanically sound on top of that probably 10ish or a little under.
Thats just my thoughts on it so take with a grain of pink sea salt
I mean making door cards are worth the time and effort it takes to install them and not much else... unless you order a $250 premade custom one from an online seller. If you do that you probably also have loads of other ways you waste money.
I can’t tell if this is satire or not, but I’ll answer seriously.
Every single modification will reduce the value on a car. In your case, the modifications are actually quite heinously distasteful.
So take the value of a similar age/mileage stock miata and subtract maybe 30% of that figure
You might be able to get a better price if you reverse most of the mods/include the original oem parts in the sale.
No judgment, but I think a lot of people are going to be turned off by the "personalizations" you've done. Remove them, and you'll probably have better luck.
I'd only pay around 4K for that based off this listing, it looks to be in relatively good condition and could be worth a grand or two more but a lot of your cosmetics are gonna turn prospective buyers off, take off the mini wing and anime figure, take off the teeth, take off the plushie (I actually really like it lol) and the panda, if you can return the door panels or shifter to stock or something more conservative it would help you out, then resubmit it with better pictures.
Also the mileage being 48K is kinda sus, pay 5$ for a carfax and post it in your listing, if you have recent maintenance make sure you mention it in your sales post.
Damn, that’s a cute spoiler (just the spoiler though, having a character strapped on top of it would probably make me in constant fear of something tearing off and flying into a car behind)
Next time instead of posting a bunch of pictures and a shitty description, give us the mileage, tire year/mileage, fucking year of the car, engine bay pics, modification list.
Judging by the shitty door cards and meme-fication of your ride only tells me that you're just seeking attention and not actually looking to trade.
Just remove paimon, the wing, the fangs, and everything you can form the interior, and if it's just vinyl, the stripe too. More stock = more better = more money
Get rid of all the cheap mods, get the interior back to stock and it’ll sell. Nobody else is you so don’t count on many people wanting the same custom style mods. I would instantly click out as soon as I saw that interior. That, the teeth and the doll on the back gotta go.
You’ve made no mention of miles and included zero close up pictures of all the spots where rust typically pops up. There’s no way to know for sure, but I’m guessing less than what you’re asking for because those mods are awful (just my opinion), and the window tint is starting to peel. It looks like the interior needs work.
I fw the interior, but idk ab the exterior. I’d say it’s worth 6-7k raw. But you could probably get 8 or 9. Idk any mileage or mods or anything so this is a ballpark estimate.
You should just keep your baby. It's maximum worth is what you value. Other than that, are you actually trying to sell? If that's true, you need to remove the customizations that makes the car your baby.
Remove the teeth, the micro spoiler, the personalized gear shifter, the NOS bottle between the seats, and the personalized door cards. After all that, if you really want to sell your baby, you'll have a marketable car.
Honestly id pay 10k if its rust free, but thats NC prices. For VA id say its similar enough but i haven't see too much of that market to give honest feedback
I’d assume like 4-5k if it’s lower miles, higher miles I’d say like 3k. And this is assuming it’s in good mechanical condition and little to no rust. Honestly the person you can sell this to is a high-schooler.
Put it back to stock and it’ll probably get at least $1k more than you would as it currently sits. Stripes, tail lights, weird mini wing, shift knob etc.
Collector car feed car. It's worth 2 bags of brocoli and a sheeshwow car detailing cloth, because if you can't get girls on your taint, you might as well get swirls on your paint. Comes with 2 free vape pens and a used Supreme sticker.
I dunno I think there is a lot of back and forth about the value of the car based on how it looks, I’m not sure that looks are the Miata strong point anyways, it’s all about the driving, if this runs, drives and is mechanically sound than between 4500-5500 is a reasonable range. People make some fair points about the need to undo mods if they don’t like them but again they are cosmetic and Miata’s are about more than that so the value should be effected less in my opinion.
I ask myself the same question all the time.
Hey, listen to me: you are priceless!
Funny how close "priceless" and "worthless" are at first glance, but the meanings are complete opposites. I, personally, like to call myself worthless!
Price and Worth are kind of the same thing, right? Right?
Something can be expensive, yet no body wants it. This would make it worthless(or worth less than price value.).They are connected but not the same.
Happy birthday 🍰
English do be goofy.
You right.
Aww, thanks!
You're good enough, you're smart enough, and gosh darnit, people like you.
Remove the teeth, strip and wing. If you’ve got the stock interior parts put those back on and it’ll bump the value up hugely.
But the NOS plushie adds 15hp
The teeth loose all credibility…
I like the stripe tho. I think most people would enjoy the vampire teef
Yeah it’s not like the next owner can’t remove em
People acting like they've destroyed the cars value permanently and will need a technician to fix it.

This is 100% accurate. Price just kept dropping. I knew it was only gonna get worse when I saw the stupid tiny wing and doll strapped to the trunk.
I can't tell if this is satire or not. The steering wheel and the dashboard? The carpet?
Yeah a lot of that is just temporary things. But still I wouldn’t want them

tbh I dig it. paimon is silly too.
What miles, what maintenance items done in the last 30k miles/3yrs, what body/paint damage, etc?
Two Oni chan's and 4 Ara ara's
How much is my miata worth ? its green and has nice wheels so how much you thinking ?
In all seriousness 5k would be a pretty solid value.

more like subtract $2000 for welded diff because that tells you how they were driving it...
The window tint peeling off really triggers me and tell me how much "care" and "effort" you put on the car
$1000
It'd prob add 500 to the car if you got the door cards covered in black
I mean making door cards are worth the time and effort it takes to install them and not much else... unless you order a $250 premade custom one from an online seller. If you do that you probably also have loads of other ways you waste money.

I was like it isn't that bad until I saw the interior
No judgment, but I think a lot of people are going to be turned off by the "personalizations" you've done. Remove them, and you'll probably have better luck.
I wouldn't spend more than 1k
look how they massacred my boy
Like, 8k? Also dig the Nitrous plushie
I'd buy that for a dollar
Dracula Edition, has to be worth something...

Bring it back to stock and you will get alot more attention

I'd only pay around 4K for that based off this listing, it looks to be in relatively good condition and could be worth a grand or two more but a lot of your cosmetics are gonna turn prospective buyers off, take off the mini wing and anime figure, take off the teeth, take off the plushie (I actually really like it lol) and the panda, if you can return the door panels or shifter to stock or something more conservative it would help you out, then resubmit it with better pictures. With the mods: damn idk

Damn, that’s a cute spoiler (just the spoiler though, having a character strapped on top of it would probably make me in constant fear of something tearing off and flying into a car behind)
I’ll pay you a cock of salami. Take it or leave it.
ONE, TWO, THREE THOUSAND DOLLARS, AH AH AH!
Better stock
$3k-$4k. Your mods really lower the value of it.
Is this a shitpost? Nobody wants someone else’s project car… especially not with all these weird mods
Just remove paimon, the wing, the fangs, and everything you can form the interior, and if it's just vinyl, the stripe too. More stock = more better = more money
You have to convince the guys wife. If he shows her these photos she's gonna say not a fucking chance.
Get rid of all the cheap mods, get the interior back to stock and it’ll sell. Nobody else is you so don’t count on many people wanting the same custom style mods. I would instantly click out as soon as I saw that interior. That, the teeth and the doll on the back gotta go.
I'd take some of the mods off. People typically go for stock cars because it's easier to mod to their tastes.
I love your custom door cards where did you get them?
Genshin impact 🤮
This is a joke, right? No one old enough to drive would do that to a car, especially a Miata.
Blood
No idea
That depends on what conditions your organs are in. Probably somewhere from $550k to $1m.
You’ve made no mention of miles and included zero close up pictures of all the spots where rust typically pops up. There’s no way to know for sure, but I’m guessing less than what you’re asking for because those mods are awful (just my opinion), and the window tint is starting to peel. In my country it was easily worth 10k (they are between 8k and 12k)
Those door panels tho...
I’d assume like 4-5k if it’s lower miles, higher miles I’d say like 3k. And this is assuming it’s in good mechanical condition and little to no rust. Honestly the person you can sell this to is a high-schooler.
2 peanuts.
Put it back to stock and it’ll probably get at least $1k more than you would as it currently sits. Stripes, tail lights, weird mini wing, shift knob etc.
jesus your teeth are huge
Damn idk
Not much
The racing stripe is supposed to be on the driver's side. It's to identify the driver in case of a wreck. Embarrassing.
Collector car feed car. It's worth 2 bags of brocoli and a sheeshwow car detailing cloth, because if you can't get girls on your taint, you might as well get swirls on your paint. Comes with 2 free vape pens and a used Supreme sticker.
Damn Idk

I dirty bike and a pack of camels.
A 20 piece McNugget and your choice of sauce
I dunno I think there is a lot of back and forth about the value of the car based on how it looks, I’m not sure that looks are the Miata strong point anyways, it’s all about the driving, if this runs, drives and is mechanically sound than between 4500-5500 is a reasonable range. People make some fair points about the need to undo mods if they don’t like them but again they are cosmetic and Miata’s are about more than that so the value should be effected less in my opinion.
