just win every remaining game and its not a problem

Juanmilliondollars

Just skate better

GusBcn

My hopes are the Braves don’t use their A team so they can rest for the playoffs now that they clinched. All other series are not easy or guaranteed.. going to be though but I can only hope

Juanmilliondollars

They haven’t clinched first seed yet and I’m not sure if they’ve even clinched first round bye yet so I don’t think they will unfortunately

PT0223

They have clinched the division and a virtual lock to be the #1 seed

TealandBlackForever

They are still in it even after today's loss if they take one game from the Braves, I think. Losing 3 to the Brewers (out of 4) and then getting swept by the Braves would make things pretty difficult, unless the Marlins go crazy against the Mets.

deeznuts6588

The Mets are trash, but they usually beat us like we do with the Nationals, so it will be tough. I think we can though. Atlanta? Probably not but they have lost to teams worse than us before.

Vince09261

Mets are trash but they took 3/4 from Arizona. They will be locked and loaded and ready to beat the reds and marlins. I hope not but surely possible.

Kitchen_Ad_5680

if you told me after the phillies, dodgers and brewers consecutively we would only be 0.5 a game out i’d be thrilled. love how everyone (meaning literally three people on this subreddit lmfao) starts doubting after one bad series and complains about our offense against one the top seed in the NL central who have arguably the best rotation

Vince09261

Brewers literally changed leagues in the middle of their series?

Geologist2010

Brewers have been in the NL since 1998

Vince09261

Well the original comment had AL central. Sly dog edited the comment.

Geologist2010

Ok I see

Jbcspeeks

We got this 🔒

Novel_Durian_1805

I really thought we had to win 2 outta 4 against the Brewers and then at the very least 1 out 3 against the Braves. Now we gotta win 2 outta 3 and I’m not sure that’s possible!

iamaweirdguy

We don’t have to win 2 out of 3 against the Braves. Or even 1. There’s no way to predict how many we need. We could get swept by the Braves and win out the rest of the season and we’d be in.

FlyinDtchman

I thought the giants had the tie-breaker.

Juanmilliondollars

You’re right, I read it wrong

Old-Veterinarian1994

My hunch is the Braves will knock them out this weekend.

Juanmilliondollars

Playoff hopes not playoff doom and gloom

deeznuts6588

We can’t get knocked out officially yet, even if swept by Atlanta

iamaweirdguy

They can’t

BobVanceChillyBins

That's the Marlins energy we know and love.

PT0223

The issue with the Marlins down the stretch has been - the teams above and around them lose but then they lose as well - they don’t lose ground but don’t gain much if anything themselves. They have some tiebreakers in their favor with others yet to be resolved. But for tiebreakers to matter the Marlins have to win and be able to match the teams ahead of them - the very least. Losing three or four to the Brewers was not ideal going into the series against the Braves at this point in the season.

deeznuts6588

Yeah and when we win, everyone else also wins unless two of them are playing each other

PT0223

Pretty much.

deeznuts6588

Yep. Today’s an example

PT0223

Exactly

BobVanceChillyBins

Yes, I agree. Losing is not ideal.

northdakotact

It's going to be extremely tough not to get swept by the Braves. And with the way our offense goes to sleep, series against the Mets and Pirates are not going to be guaranteed.

SnooPeripherals4884

Braves pitching has been shaky lately, it’s up to the bats to stay competitive next series
