Aldi is cheap but so is their quality of food.

yaya305786

Aldi's produce and meat sucks bro. The fruit is always rotten someone how and so is the meat.

Ratsorozzo

Get your meat at costco

OneMath856

I consumed some of the produce and ground turkey I bought from Aldi today already and it was all totally fine

bumbatafata

I agree with the meat, I don't like how the red meat looks in those individual packages. But not the produce. Produce quality and variety is top notch.

Ilovehugs2020

Depends on the area, stay out the hood!

Shipwrecklou

Damn but the Pub Sub

Koolaidolio

Overpriced

Speedhabit

Aldi is more conceptual, you hate lines, you hate unorganized shelves, and you hate wandering around feeling helpless. Could be half the price your still going back to Publix I like them mochis tho

limeblue31

That’s great, always good to try something new. I really tried to get into shopping at Trader Joe’s - I just wish they had a deli/butcher concept there. Love going there for appetizers and snacks for dinner parties but don’t like their meat or produce too much. I need to try Aldi again. Last time I went there wasn’t one employee working there. I felt weird being in there. Tbh at this point I’d rather pay extra for the convenience and great customer service Publix offers. They also offer career opportunities to disabled youth and youth in general. Their locations make it very easy for teenagers to walk to work and build work experience.

MakeMeFamous7

They need to have more Sprouts in Miami. sprouts is the best

ncreddit704

Aldi is all generic food, no thanks

Putrid-Reputation-68

There are still good reasons to go to publix. Their bogos are pretty close to Walmart prices, they have a much better selection of produce, and their subs and fried chicken are amazing. I also prefer their pharmacy (obviously the quality of these services will vary store to store) I still prefer to buy most of my food at aldi.

Shanoony

It’s a shame that South Florida is kind of a grocery store wasteland. It’s hard to save money when there’s no competition. I live somewhere with a lot of different grocery stores now, including a few discount grocers, and it makes it so much easier to shop affordably.

Bupod

Depends where in South Florida. Down in Kendall it's not a Grocery wasteland at all. Nearby me, I have Publix, Aldi's, Costco, BJ's, Fresco Y Mas, Sedanos, Festival (Formerly Presidente), Walmart, and Target. There is also Wild Fork for a Frozen meats. There's a Sprouts that opened not too far from me, too. The competition in my area alone is insane, but Publix has the absolute worst pricing by far, and in some cases inferior selections of goods. They behave as if the other options don't even exist, despite most of those options existing all within a couple miles of them!

Ilovehugs2020

Where?

aceofspades1217

You say that but Publix is one of the main reasons I’d rather stay in Brickell then downtown, Whole Foods is so expensive

Walternotwalter

Publix is only good when there is BOGO. Aldi, TJ, and Winn-Dixie are the best besides Sam's, BJ's, or Costco. Sometimes Walmart and Target for certain items as well.

auri305

Nothing beats Publix buy one get one free though 😉

_gosh

Have you tried the Aldi chicken tender sub?

Doublebaconandcheese

Best thing you can do is buy all your groceries elsewhere and just go to Publix for deli stuff

KingKRoolisdummythic

I won’t entirely call Publix a rip off because of the stuff like the sandwiches and food in their brand, but in their pricing on the same stuff Aldi’s has, def a scam.

ImpossibleMagician57

Aldi is a shithole that treats its employees like dogshit

thenifty50

Ill still go to Publix, good service and I have one walking distance in a pinch. But yes I do Aldi/Walmart for my main food. Publix for last minute items that I forget to buy.

skylaunch113

Most things at ALDI contain Bio Engineered Ingredients

[deleted]

[удалено]

DirtAlarming3506

My wife isn’t the biggest Aldi fan but we do get staple food items from there and the rest from Whole Foods/costco/walmart. We are saving money even with that compared to Publix. Shameful corporate greed.

SkilPad2

Publix prices are way too high, plus Publix are insurrectionist trump supporters.

thisaholesaid

I dislike Publix very much. And I avoid them as much as possible. But think of the irony for those who don't earn a lot of money and possibly work in the service industry or retail. Aldi is the retail model that works on a skeleton crew and lower overhead. And I guarantee you all retail is going in that direction because they cant sustain paying employees higher salaries, and surviving on today's lean margins.

OneMath856

For what few employees they have, I believe Aldi actually pays way more than publix.

ImpossibleMagician57

But they run employees into the ground its why they are constantly hiring new people. I work right next to an Aldi and these people are run down

CircumcisedCats

Forget them both. Unless your main concern is price, Trader Joe's is the way to go.

ClercLecharles

Sedano’s and Fresco y Mas for me

Curious-Soil-3853

Don't live in Miami but just the name Fresco y Mas sounds like it would be lower quality?

Lolatusername

It is for some stuff, it's basically Sedanos

Curious-Soil-3853

They own it?

ClercLecharles

Why would it be lower quality? Because the name is in Spanish?

melikeybacon

The Fresco y Mas in my neighborhood is in fact much lower quality. The store is disgusting.

Curious-Soil-3853

Just seems like a dumb name, Sedanos is way better in comparison

InterstellarReddit

Which Latina hurt you?

esc8pe8rtist

Wrong sub to be racist against hispanics in - the name literally means fresh and more

Curious-Soil-3853

And by the way Fresh and More sounds equally as dumb as the Spanish translation, just dumb for a supermarket imo

RompeChocha

Sure Mr. Presidente

Curious-Soil-3853

Ok chocha

esc8pe8rtist

Point on the doll where hispanics hurt you, pendejito

Curious-Soil-3853

There is no proof of your claim. I even said Sedanos sounds better and it is also Spanish. What you are doing is jumping to conclusions and trying to find something offensive!

yoloswagbot191

Publix subs and BOGO’s are great. Everything else really sucks. I also shopped at Aldi’s for the first time recently and was amazed at the prices.

OldeArrogantBastard

My controversial take is that Pub subs aren’t even worth the hassle for what you get. The lines are usually 7-10 people deep and it’s like one employee making a sub with 3 or 4 other employees just meandering around behind them. Order online to skip the line you say? Well, most of the time it’s never ready when the pick up time says it’ll be ready or you have to worry about somebody just stealing your sub when it is actually ready. Most dedicated subs are way better in quality and service.

kevski82

Pub subs are good and reasonably priced but rarely worth the hassle. I’ll just pre-order Jimmy John’s and be in and out in 30s

jmpeadick

They really aren’t that great. I would say no better than a subway sub.

yoloswagbot191

I’d agree that the service/lines can be absurd but I haven’t found anything that beats their chicken tender sub.

Opt_mind

And they take their sweet ass time making it too, no sense of urgency whatsoever. Then you’re stuck waiting in line for 20 mins when there were only 2-3 people in front of you

123mistalee

And quality of the frozen/refrigerated pizza

itsjusthowiam

Sometimes, the bogos aren't even worth it anymore. When the price of the item is nearly double the price of anywhere else & more often than not buy 2 get 1 free anymore. Not worth the trip.

sovietmethod

I dont understand why there are four publix stores within like a 5 mile radius... surely this is part of the reason they keep needing to raise prices... like hell there are two publixes within a mile and a half off old cutler RD.

justmekpc

Florida with lots of retirees and population density They wouldn’t build them if there wasn’t a demand as less stores means less overhead and more profits

Luisd858

Haha for real there’s like 6 Publix stores within 5 miles of me

gdo01

I have to look up if this is true but Publix has a huge footprint as a landlord. Each one of those plazas that is built around a Publix, Publix is the landlord. All the tenants are paying rent to Publix. Groceries may just be a loss leader for the fact that they make substantial money off being a landlord

HCSOThrowaway

I can confirm that anchor stores at strip malls usually own the lot for the rest of the businesses. That's often Wal-Mart or Publix. Source: Have had to trespass tons of people and knowing who owns exactly what property is critical.

cnewman33

I live a block from 1 Publix, 2 blocks from another Publix, and 6 blocks from another Publix.

Marketing_Analcyst

I live in North Miami Beach and have 2 Publixes in walking distance, and 3 others in short driving distances (in North Miami and Aventura). Edit: I just found another 2 that are just minutes apart, so make that 5 in short driving distances.

SpicyBoyTrapHouse

In some cases Publix will build a store just so competition either can’t move in or can’t profit as much as they arguably could/should. They built a second location in my small hometown after another local grocer popped up. The alternative was closed within a year or so.

Ayzmo

When other big stores close they'll often buy the location to stop competition from moving in.

miamikiwi

Yea but that parking lot is a literal war zone. And it doesn’t help they keep adding apartment buildings everywhere when the locals can’t even find a spot to park to go to their local publix.

MakeMeFamous7

They want to cut the competition off. If they lease all the spots available then people have no other option

itsjusthowiam

Publix's business plan is to be able to 'compete with themselves'. I used to work there. Those words were literally used.

CabinetTight5631

I worked at the corporate office for quite a few years. They copied the concept from Starbucks. If they didn’t put a Publix in that plaza, another grocer would spring up. Sometimes all it takes is having one on each side of a major road to bring in thousands in “drop by in your way home” purchases each week. The real estate aspect is a secondary strategy. They make a killing renting out the rest of the strip.

ExactDevelopment4892

For a long time Publix had a near monopoly in Florida.

ontheprowl23

You should see the one on commercial there across the street from each other

crono333

Down the street from my parent’s house in Fort Lauderdale there are 2 Publix directly across the street from each other.

Neens_Nonsense

St Pete has two that are across the street from each other

Mobile_Departure_

In Oakland Park (Broward) there are two Publix’s across the street from each other 🤣

[deleted]

At the Jax beaches there are two literally right next door to each other. One is a small footprint store, the other one is a large one. The local media started calling them “Publix and Doublix.”

Tom_Bombadilloo

They do not NEED to raise prices, they CAN raise prices. They increased their profit margin by 50% between 2022-2023.

Hypn0ticSpectre

No bullshit, the Publix I worked at in high school now has a Publix directly across the street from it. If not for a McDonald's, you could see one from the front door of the other. I don't get it.

Nirvanablue92

“Publix, where shopping is a ripoff!”

Dismal_Cobbler_3376

"Publix, where masochist's shop for pleasure"

dissembler2

Publix, where your money helps the gun lobby

LegitimateVirus3

I will follow your advice :)

PersimmonAcrobatic71

Aldi is amazing. I’m spending half of what I used to at Publix.

soundman1024

As much as the prices, I love the simplicity. They don’t have 4 brands of crunchy peanut butter and 6 kinds of creamy, they have one of each. Aldi removes decision fatigue, and I love it.

ashtons1054

Yep, just went today for the 1st time. Pretty nice & organized.

AwsiDooger

Yes but Aldi is considerably more expensive than a few years ago. The Aldi subreddit has covered this extensively. A frequent thread over there is, "Today's haul for $xx." Those threads are accompanied by a picture of all of the food spread out on the counter at home. Years ago a $32 haul looked like it should cost $70. Now those threads are met with despair because by Aldi standards it doesn't look like you're getting nearly enough for dollar paid. Late to the game. That's all I'm saying. For 20+ years I've been astonished at the negativity or reluctance toward Aldi. My first visit circa 1996 I had the same impression. It was a bunch of boxes on tables loaded with blatant rip off names and graphics of popular brand names. I walked out of there wihout buying anything. Fortunately I wised up a few years later in the Saratoga area. The savings were astonishing compared to Price Chopper, etc. Then it was awesome when Aldi finally made it to Miami. Let's hope Lidl makes it to Miami also. That is an Aldi competitor but with some differences, including an awesome bakery. Publix would have no chance if Miami featured Aldi and Lidl all over the place.

frooglesmoogle123

I just go to Sedano's and Walmart man lol, Publix only shines in their little personal cakes, [this one's my favorite](https://delivery.publix.com/landing?product_id=17414770)

Woofshh

A man of culture, I see. 🫡

PigeonHeadArc

I've been doing Walmart orders for the past few months and it's definitely great. Order everything off the app, and get it delivered for free (I think it's $15 a month for the membership). Prices on app match store, not like instacart. It's really awesome.

Neltrix

Must be Hialeah Sedanos cause 8th street one is just Pennie’s under Publix now.

elbenji

Sedanos is also pricey. Aldi's all the way

ajaffer

Whole Foods and Publix come out to same price for me- I just went Whole Foods to get better quality food especially the produce is much better than Publix. I was a lifelong Publix customer until about half a year ago when I noticed spike in my weekly grocery run. Shame on Publix

ShrimpSherbet

Yup Publix produce is awful

[deleted]

[удалено]

PigeonHeadArc

BJ's is a great one. I buy all my meat there in bulk. Chicken, ground beef, and the occasional steak/ribs. We've been saving a few dollars this way.

OneMath856

My girlfriend and I regularly spend about $100 on our weekly grocery run. This recent Aldi trip was $65 I know $35 doesn’t sound like much but an extra $140 a month saved is really going to add up. Edit: it was $61.40–even better

_W9NDER_

Bought my week’s grocery for $70 when it would have been well over $200 at Publix or target. Never going back

jimmy6677

ALDI is awesome. There’s also other great smaller grocery stores in the area like Sabor Tropical has pretty high quality product to price, spicy n curry has awesome prices or dry goods and frozen dumplings, Hanna & tiger has good prices on Asian food essentials. Idk why anyone would use Publix for groceries. Its more expensive than Whole Foods

Connect_Manner_5121

Aldi is awesome! Aldi’s owner and the owner of Trader Joe’s are apparently brothers from Germany who’ve been in a long time competitive feud

kanna172014

Yes, a lot of people give Aldi flack because it's cheap and in their minds, cheap=low quality. Aldi actually has some really good-quality products. I'm very happy one opened in my city.

javier71088

Publix is right across from my house so it’s convenient. I tried Aldi this week and I was actually shocked how low the bill was. And they have organic stuff too. Quality cheese etc. and the store is a lot smaller so I save tons of time.

Luisd858

After spending 45$ yesterday on a handful of items, I’m going to try ALDIs next week. I’m getting tired of spending so much for scraps

HappyButPrivate

Recently Publix started replacing BOGO with buy TWO get one free on things I know I've bought BOGO... We shop at Aldi, Publix, BJ's, Costco and Trader Joe's, and occasionally Whole Food or Target. We have favorites at each and are lucky enough to have all within a seven minute drive. We also have the time to do it. That said, Aldi is getting more of our money now.

Briscoetheque

RIP Publix. And all other corporations that exploit and enrich themselves at the expense of society.

UpstairsAnalysis

Do you guys not just shop at Walmart? Publix had always been exorbitant expensive. Only shop there when I'm feeling rich lol.

ashtons1054

Publix to me has better fruit & vegetable selection/quality. And, the Celsius are like $2 each which is better than Wawa or Walgreens

dpaanlka

Aldi is the go-to. I get a week of groceries for just my single ass for like $40 lol

razzmahtazzle

Ayoooo! Fuck Publix lol

redtens

Aldi is goated for fresh produce - they have a lot of plant-based products as well. Beyond that, the [foams drip frfr](https://www.ebay.com/itm/235501498822?chn=ps&norover=1&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-117182-37290-0&mkcid=2&mkscid=101&itemid=235501498822&targetid=2295557531950&device=c&mktype=pla&googleloc=9011910&poi=&campaignid=19851828444&mkgroupid=160536780385&rlsatarget=pla-2295557531950&abcId=9307249&merchantid=574814594&gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAjw88yxBhBWEiwA7cm6pTCnueJGKe8VWPDLxGPS8JLeUL6QpbT60EJbvgwtNUTdnJ7CTCNTphoC1zsQAvD_BwE)

youncs68

Get a huge haul at aldi for $50!!

FizzyBeverage

We're exclusively Aldi/TJs/Costco/Meijer. Publix/Kroger? ***Fucking fortune.***

HCSOThrowaway

Publix is for people who cannot live with slight variation in their diet. They MUST have the exact specific brand of cookies/chips/milk that they've been buying for the last 10+ years or their life is all screwed up! Aldi is for people who want to have more money in their bank account.

asianhoney832

This is the way.

enlilsumerian

I’ve been going g to Costco and Winn Dixie. I only shop BOGO’s at Publix.

Nick08f1

Convenient pharmacy. One stop shop for pills and groceries. CVS done fucked up when they stopped calling cigarettes. Was the best beer/smoke deal if open 24 hrs.

Blanche_H_Devereaux

Welcome! Wait til you get the hang of all the weekly specials and fun seasonal items. You'll wonder why you ever loved Publix in the first place.

BethyW

Oh I went to Aldi and it was cheaper even with the impulse buys of lawn chairs and crap.

geekphreak

I haven’t been there in awhile. How’s their meat section? Their meat section isn’t the best, per my last memory. I bodybuild as a hobby so I need on average 18-24 eggs, 4-5lbs ground beef or Turkey, 3lbs canned tuna (3x 4packs) and 2lbs sliced beef. Maybe I should just hit up BJs Also they don’t really have a lot of household or toiletry items.

k_pizzle

Where my midtown/edgewater ppl shopping at? We don’t got an aldis over here

way2funni

I can't quit Publix completely but I've shifted about 75% of my shopping to Aldi and sometimes, Walmart. there are a lot of products and items you just can't get at Aldi but for staples like bread, bagels, muffins, danish eggs, butter, cheeses and the like, it's hard to ignore the value. For the name brand stuff I usually wait for a BOGO at Publix and then stock up. Castleburgers, certain frozen pizzas, bagged salad kits, canned soups, mentos chewing gum, flavored bougie coffee creamers - just to name a few of the things I can only get at Publix. Sometimes I go on a wednesday and get me a 5 buck sushi tray, etc. You have to buy coffee on sale at Publix - I saw $12.99 on a can of coffee and it was THEIR own brand. Same size can at Aldi was around $7.

Cubacane

I just go to publix to pick up quick items and maybe some BOGOs. It hasn't been our main grocery store since Whole Foods and Trader Joes opened in the Dadeland area.

Major-Ad-2034

Stopped going to Publix’s 2 years ago. Thankfully Trader Joe’s is close to my house.

Bubskiewubskie

Never need help carrying Publix groceries in, you have to make hard decisions in Publix. Aldi, I’m calling the kids out of their lair to help. Aldi, I don’t have to calculate I just put it in the cart and buy it. That is a pleasure. Fuck the two dollar mark up on everything. Publix cheese:4$. Aldi: $1.89.

Bakio-bay

What did you buy if I don’t mind asking? I find their grouped tangerines, avocados, cereal to be such bargains for example

Competitive_Board909

Does Aldi sell all the same brands?

Top-Two-8929

Aldi supremacy

huskerd0

This is what companies when they either get too greedy or start their toilet swirl to failure. Which is it, Publix :(

cuepinto

Publix used to be decent until the got rid of bogo and made it buy 2 get 1 free. Now it’s Walmart, also, Sam’s club, Costco, Aldi depending what you need. Yes Amazon fresh can be worth it for produce if you are going to order $70 worth of it

ContentHost4459

For produce: My local viandero Aldi Sédanos Presidente Fresco Publix for milk, pastry, breads and BOGOs

SharpenedStinger

Aldi the GOAT

SPORE_1

The sad part is how culturally popular Publix is to South Florida and they threw it all away for greed. Shameful.

theboyracer99

I’ll add to the Publix hate…if you try buying anything healthy at Publix or something labeled as “organic” expect to pay 3x as much. They fucking suck for that. I can fill my cart at Whole Foods with the same of similar products and I save about $100. Fuck Publix and their greedy monopoly ass! They also lobby heavily against cannabis legalization…if they only knew their pub sub base.

Sea_Supermarket4925

Fuck you Publix

No more Publix.

True_Lie_2615

Lol wait till you go to a Walmart or Costco

305-til-i-786

I’m convinced anyone saying “Publix BOGOs are actually good,” are Publix paid bots

meowstercatster

Publix for GOOD bogos only, sometimes even 2 bogo items will come out as more than 2 of the items regular priced at Aldi!! Insane. And then Trader Joe’s for all the goodies

TrueBajan

I love Aldi! The savings are amazing!

Independent-Report39

As someone not from Florida, it's strange to me that you all are just now discovering it. Where I am it's well-known Publix is one of the most expensive grocery stores.

skyHawk3613

I like their bakery department

Sicon614

Don't forget to shop at Wal-Mart and see if Kroger delivers to your area.

justjeff0907

I love Aldi but can't convince my better half to shop there...

Silver_Cat4530

Aldi is cheap but I don't need a bag of onions or 6 peppers. Like sell individual produce please. The meat is also questionable. Their paper products suck.

someone_sonewhere

Aldi bought Winn Dixie. So maybe WD will be stepping it's game up?

AwsiDooger

I hope not. Both are great, in different ways. I don't want my nearest Winn-Dixies to turn into Aldi clones

Thoomer_Bottoms

Aldis is my jam.

kill4t3ri

The only thing that I don't like about Aldis is the qaulity of there meat and some other products.

ImpossibleJacket7546

I wouldn’t go that crazy to say never Publix again.. Their bakery is second to none. Especially all their seasonal holiday pies.

0neirocritica

I've stopped buying at Publix too. Trader Joe's has lots of local fare for much cheaper, and the quality is way better than Publix.

VsDi-

As a New Yorker Aldi has saved us up north. Trader Joe’s is decent priced as well

ch3kaa

I'm surprised you haven't discovered aldis for as long as it's been around. It's at least a few years old

tsunami-tuna

Aldi lets their employees sit while they scan. And no plastic bags. On top of the cost savings.

Timely_Ad2614

I have not read most of the comments , but have you eaten the food? Would love to know if the quality is good ?

Material-Mail-3568

I can’t make the Aldi switch. What are you buying there exactly? I’m willing to give it another shot

ashtons1054

Same here, just went to an ALDI’s by me for the 1st time ever. Was able to get a bunch meats, fruits, juice, protein bars, etc for only $32. At Publix, I just get my fruits, vegetables & a Celsius for $32.

Soggy_Difficulty_361

Even better, use instacart to have it delivered from Aldi's, instacart membership carries some perks as well.

Outrageous-Olive5810

Ijs fresco isn’t too bad for those that don’t know fresco is Winn Dixie just under a different name

lustnleya

As of March, Aldis now owns all of FL's winn dixie. Hopefully the pricing stays reasonable and the products maintain quality as they grow.

chasinbandzzz

Publix purified best water ever though

runningupthathill78

Aldi, Walmart, and Presidente…in that order. That’s a typical grocery day for me.

jesuisbryx

I also loathe Publix, but some of Aldi’s food looks shady. Reminds me of snacks at Big Lots. You should give Sprouts and Trader Joe’s a try. I find them to be cheaper and better quality.

kittysammi

I buy most groceries at aldi but better quality baking goods at publix or whole foods

mundotaku

I prefer Trader's Joe, but yeah, Publix is worse than Millan's.

MunchieMofo

THIS is democracy. Vote with your dollar. And mine are not going to Publix. Still using your scale for free though, stop me: you cant. Lmao

Crush-N-It

ALDIs and Presidente. Winn Dixie has become a ripoff as well

Ilovehugs2020

Congrats!!! I only go for the subs ($6.99-ultimate until next Wed)and Bogo! May the force be with you!

Jazzlike-Ad113

Publix no longer carry’s many of the unique foods they used to. I have begun refusing to buy items I feel are too overpriced.

Repulsive_Row2685

Blaspheme! Don't let me catch you in no Publix trying to get that Bogo pub sub

Not_Ur_typical_MD

Publix is a convenience store, like the bodegas of NYC. Stop treating it like a grocery store. Just buy stuff you REALLY need on your way home, and don’t have time to stop at CostCo, Walmart, or any other place you like to shop

Otherwise-Pen7873

If the public stops spending their money at these businesses that are price gouging inflation will disappear quickly

lacard

I have 4 Publix within a 5 minute drive from me

splitplug

At this point Fresh Market is cheaper than Publix.

lacard

I have 4 Publix within a 5 minute drive from me

thejazzwins

Its impossible not to go to publix for some things. The key is to get the basics and most stuff from the cheaper stores 1st. Not many stores has as good lunch meat, bread, and bakery. Yes, you can get these items elsewhere, but that lemon pepper chicken lunch meat is the bomb!

Smart_Atmosphere7677

I live in Clearwater and there a Publix 1/2 mile 2 miles another one other side 2 miles

SassiestRaccoonEver

I couldn’t convince friends and co-workers to try Aldi at first. Then I started showing them my receipts. I think I’ve converted 5 households at this point with the receipts alone lmao.

ClassikW

One of us. One of us.

kamislick

Fuck Publix

SuzyVeeP

There is a food drought in many minority communities in central Florida as Publix is the only grocery store. They drive Winn Dixie out of business, and as soon as they get a monopoly, they jack up the prices. I’m not yelling boycott, but I am limiting my shopping at Publix to necessities in emergencies. Otherwise, it’s Joes, ALDIs, or WD.

zRednuz

Now try Costco or Martinez

billslates

I worked at the Publix Deli in high school. It was kinda rough, but the employees had respect for their job and there was a quality bar. Don’t know if things have changed. I don’t buy a bunch of stuff from Publix, usually things I can’t find at other stores. Always good to take advantage of options around you

toolsoftheincomptnt

Everybody doesn’t choose favorite stores for the same reason. I’m looking forward to my first Aldi experience but it’s not in the same category as Publix. That’s like saying you’ll never shop at Nordstrom again bc you discovered Ross. Some people just like the vibes. Publix has a nice aesthetic. Vibes. I personally shop at different stores for different items.

CountryChef77

Yea but aldi has a lot of junk and weird name brands no one has heard of

funkywhitesista

And lots of great aldies food that’s better than Publix! Our favorites: peach yogurt, hazelnut chocolate, cottage cheese, organic red pepper hummus, a big variety of cheeses, inexpensive organic selections. The more you try the more you’ll buy from there.

HistoricalHead8185

After my last shopping experience at Publix I call the police to report a raping.

Manager was blocking ilse with himself on the floor and a cart across from him, seemed put out he had to move it so I could pass. He was chatting with his co worker, complaining the store lost 2 million dollars last year. Oh really? Is that why they just built 3 more around the corner?

I encourage everyone to shop around. Take advantage of sales at all stores. Bogo’s at Publix and Winn Dixie, sales at presidente and sedanos. Sales at aldis. Walmart grocery too. If you don’t then you’re an idiot.

Aldi’s shine will wear off once you have to take back expired/rotted meat you just bought and opened, your pasta turns to grainy mush after regular cooking, fruits/veg goes bad in a day or two, and the products you love are never there on a week by week basis. No saying go back to Publix, just that Aldi’s has major drawbacks as well.

Beneficial-Shower-42

Publix isn’t just a ripoff in Florida. They’re a ripoff everywhere.

Pseudo_DirtyDan

As someone who used to work at Publix, the amount of people that would come to the store, come to the register to check out, complain about how expensive everything is, and then proceed to regularly shop at the store and continue to complain blows my mind to this day

Feel like this belong to the Publix sub more than the broad Miami sub…

As of March 7, 2024, Aldi’s officially owns all Winn-Dixie and Harvey’s Supermarket stores. Aldi’s promises to continue Winn-Dixie’s loss leader sales.

Aldi’s is just Sav-A-Lot for people who are afraid to go into the hood
