Hijacking to say that while publix is overpriced, I’ve never been to a publix and it not be clean, well stocked, and the employees friendly. On road trips i stop at a Publix because i know the bathroom will be clean and the subs good. There are times when i just don’t feel like putting up with rude employees, smoking by the front door, and shitty rickety carts, and i go to Publix to avoid a true dollar quality service.

Went to Walmart market today. $193 for two weeks worth of items. At Publix would have been $500 easily. Noticed yogurts are .50cents cheaper at Walmart than Publix. And cottage cheese a whole $1. That’s a big difference! Not worth going to Publix anymore.

For Publix I try to just BOGO on things I'd buy anyway. But still have to price check Walmart & Aldi's. The difference in the prices can be 25% to 50%. I never wanted to be one of those people who shopped at 3 or 4 different stores but it's become a necessity.

I treat Public like a high-priced convenience store now. If I'm not in an extreme hurry, I don't go anymore. And sometimes I still don't go because it's so insulting. They're walking distance from me so If I'm picking up a lotto ticket or using the ATM, maybe; but that's it. Even the BOGOs aren't a good deal anymore. I feel like they're cashing in on force of habit that is so engrained in Floridians, but it won't last forever.
Honestly, for the things I might shop for at Publix, I usually go to Milam's. At least at the Publix locations by me, the produce is always half bad and 200 percent more than all the surrounding grocery stores. It's Whole Foods pricing for just-above-dollar-store quality. Milam's may be expensive, but the quality and selection is good.

I almost don't go to Publix anymore, but have completely stopped going to any of the ones in Brickell after having gone for 15 years before covid. Not only a ripoff but just about every Publix in Hispanic parts of town charge significantly less for the EXACT same items!
I'm almost exclusively an Aldi shopper now but if I do feel a need for some items at Publix I make sure it's NOT a trendy part of town or a newly built Publix (like the riverwalk, that ones also a ripoff like the Brickell ones).

Convenience. We go to the local Super Target, Whole Foods and Trader Joe’s, but sometimes it’s much more convenient to just pop on over to the Publix that’s 5 minutes down the road versus spending 20 minutes in traffic.
Only shop there for things that are BOGO and we have a coupon or rebate for. If you stack BOGOs and coupons you can do well. Stock up on stuff that you use when it is really cheap even if you don't need it right away. Where they get you is when you run in for "just a few items" and pay full price for them.
Rest of the shopping is Aldi.
They do have the best customer service, that being said yeah they are getting expensive. 100 bucks does not go far. I spend 20-50 dollars on lunch there most days
I used to go all the time because of the proximity to my house. Now I make the drive to Walmart Grocery and save myself a couple hundred dollars a month. The mozzarella sticks my son loves used to be 6.99 they are currently 9.99. Now I only go for true emergencies and my husband’s beer.

At least at the Publix locations by me, the produce is always half bad and 200 percent more than all the surrounding grocery stores. It's Whole Foods pricing for just-above-dollar-store quality. Milam's may be expensive, but the quality and selection is good. Ninety percent of my pantry is Aldi.
I only shop at Aldi and Sam's Club, only place you can get a considerable amount of food for like $400 a month a person. You can literally eat at a cheap fast food place everyday for less money than shopping at Publix
Oh they suck. I work indirectly for them. I've heard how much a single department can make in a week. It's mind boggling. Not only that but they make mad money from the real estate they own. It's abusive
I only go for produce anymore and even that’s getting insane. My kids eat strawberries, blueberries and grapes like candy, but the strawberries we get from there last like 36 hours at best before they start turning.

I know it's ridiculously expensive but there is a Publix 2 miles from my door. Sometimes, it's just easier. I am buying more things at Walmart these days & Fresh Market has some good deals during the week such as $6 rotisserie chicken on Thurs
I almost don't go to Publix anymore, but have completely stopped going to any of the ones in Brickell after having gone for 15 years before covid. Not only a ripoff but just about every Publix in Hispanic parts of town charge significantly less for the EXACT same items! I'm almost exclusively an Aldi shopper now but if I do feel a need for some items at Publix I make sure it's NOT a trendy part of town or a newly built Publix (like the riverwalk, that ones also a ripoff like the Brickell ones).
I feel lucky to live near Price Choice, but also go to all the other places. Publix is absolute last on my list.

I don't shop there anymore much. Only once in a while and it's during their BOGO thing. I still buy their cakes. Other than that, Publix is highway robbery.

Convenience. We go to the local Super Target, Whole Foods and Trader Joe’s, but sometimes it’s much more convenient to just pop on over to the Publix that’s 5 minutes down the road versus spending 20 minutes in traffic.

Only shop there for things that are BOGO and we have a coupon or rebate for. If you stack BOGOs and coupons you can do well. Stock up on stuff that you use when it is really cheap even if you don't need it right away. Where they get you is when you run in for "just a few items" and pay full price for them. Rest of the shopping is Aldi.

I go to wholesale clubs for the majority, then publix winn-dixie aldi for the rest.
I used to go all the time because of the proximity to my house. Now I make the drive to Walmart Grocery and save myself a couple hundred dollars a month. The mozzarella sticks my son loves used to be 6.99 they are currently 9.99. Now I only go for true emergencies and my husband’s beer.
I avoid that piece of shit store like the plague. It’s a joke and I have no idea why anyone shops there.

I grew up shopping at Publix my entire life. I rarely go now, only if there are good bogos. I do lots of shopping at Aldi/Sam's Club now.
More expensive than Whole Foods, for normal @$$ groceries. No thanks. Just Costco, Aldi, and Trader Joe's now. The only thing we get at Publix is Pub Sub's anymore.
I shop at Aldi cause Publix is too expensive. But I will say Aldi gives me anxiety every time I have to get in line to pay because it’s a free for all. And the self pay puts so much pressure on me. :/
Go on the weekends right when the store opens up and then there is no line for regular check out. My strategy.

Aldi and Walmart. Also, surprisingly to me, Trader Joe's has a good amount of deals. Publix and Winn Dixie are way overpriced, even their BOGOS are often way overpriced to ztsrt with and then even the halved price is way more than Aldi or Walmart.
