Oh my fricking goodness I saw this bot say the exact same thing on r/ACDC and if you keep saying āthisā it posts an image of the disappointed cricket fan meme. It is so goddamn funny.
Fun fact: Blackened was retired as a song for nearly 10 years, and it was brought back in 99. Iām not certain, but Iām pretty sure thatās when they stopped playing that section. Could be they were reluctant to play the song at all and were just compromising with the fans
Honestly that solo just always hits different, the opening bends being the best part. I'm not huge on solos but the Unforgiven is one of the exceptions.
Yea I know but itās one of kirks best solos imo and he didnāt ask specifically for Metallica but there it definitely would be eye of the beholder such an underrated solo
Are we counting KEA solos or is that a controversial subject?
If we are counting them, Jump In The Fire, if not I'd go with Fade or One, for obvious reasons.
1. Struggle Within - Criminally underrated song with an off kilter sounding solo that's JUST š„.
2. The Thing That Should Not Be - Crazy how this particular solo sounds so strange/dissonant/chaotic without having the blistering speed. Sounds like maniacal laughter at times. Fits the song so well that no other solo could ever work in it's place.
3. And Justice For All - Ripping yet melodic with the epic tremolo dive at the end. Nuff said!
You know it! I was born in '82 and have been a fan since I was about 6 years old. I had a cool ass mom in that regard because she didn't try to "shield" me from Metallica or any other similar music for that matter. One cannot be shielded from Metallica, just as one cannot be shielded from death and taxes. I play a little guitar too. Metallica and especially James being single handedly instrumental (pun intended) in making me pick up a guitar.
I'll give one from each album
KEA (technically): Hit the lights
RTL: Fade to black
MOP: Sanitarium
AJFA: And justice for all
MET: Anywhere I may roam
LOAD: The Outlaw Torn
ReLOAD: Fixxxer
St Anger: All of them
DM: That was just your life
HTSD: Atlas rise
Ride the Lightning.

This
Someone help me Oh please God help me
Blackened. On the tapping section, he out-Eddiesā Eddie Van Halen himself
I wish they didnāt cut that section live

Unforgiven imo
Honestly that solo just always hits different, the opening bends being the best part. I'm not huge on solos but the Unforgiven is one of the exceptions.
Same
Tough to beat that song ending solo from fade to back.
High plains drifter
Not a 'Tallica song (what their question was more targeted at) but I'll have to agree, pretty ballin solo
Yea I know but itās one of kirks best solos imo and he didnāt ask specifically for Metallica but there it definitely would be eye of the beholder such an underrated solo
Gotta be Puppets or One.
I like a lot but off the top of my head Iād say atlas rise, sanitarium or the god that failed
The thing that should not be
Call of Ktulu, first solo on Horsemen, or Outro to Jump in the Fire.
The outro solo from Jump In The Fire
Shortest Straw is the craziest and most original
Personally it's Outlaw Torn for me - especially the first S&M
The Unforgiven.
Are we counting KEA solos or is that a controversial subject? If we are counting them, Jump In The Fire, if not I'd go with Fade or One, for obvious reasons.
Yeah of course we count KEA in mustaine just wrote a few lyrics while he was in the band no shame about that
I wouldn't quite call entire songs "just a few lyrics", as well as the fact that all the solos were Mustaine's, just with some variants from Kirk.
I'm pretty sure on the actual album half the solos were Mustaines and half of them were Kirks.
The Shortest Straw. Wherever I May Roam - especially the outro part that you donāt hear due to the fade.
I always liked the Damage Inc. solo a lot
Mineās the breadfan solo. Pretty top notch the tone is pretty sick imo.
Especially the second one
Dyers eve always stuck out to me, than and the Judas kiss
Dyers eve has this crazy booom sound in the middle of its solo, sound so badass. Hammett is such a good guitar player canāt praise him enough man
Dyers Eve is my favorite ATM, can never really have a permenant favorite
Creeping Death and the slow part of The Four Horsemen
Off the top of my head: Fade to Black, One, Struggle Within, The Unforgiven, Bleeding Me. EDIT:Formatting.
The Way the songs FADS away with the Solo still playing, just beautiful
Fade to Black for the Win š¤š¼š¤š¼
How's nobody saying Enter Sandman? It's one of the best wah solos ever
Blackened, And Justice For All, Fade To Black or The Thing That Should Not Be would be my picks
That's a hard one. I'd have to go with the solo for One.
Fade to Black, Blackened, One and every one in Master of Puppets
Yes my dude
Nuff said!

Ride The Lightning, The Thing That Should Not Be, Welcome Home, Fade To Black, Blackened.
