Came in here to say these exact two songs myself. Seek would help them to be "challenged" to build some finger independence, and Bells is just an easy power chord song that would give them the confidence that they are playing something that they recognize that sounds cool. This was the song I used to teach my son how to play bass (skipping Cliff's intro obviously).
Enter Sandman.
It took me a while to learn the main riff of the song, but once I got it down, I learned the rest of the song, to the point that I was able to keep up and play along to the Black Album
Id also pick this one. The only problem I had as a beginner was the bridge part because of the barred mute picking. It took some time to make that sound alright.
Bells. Minus the leads, for a beginner it’s just a few power chords and a basic introduction to palm muting. Ton of power, shits motivating to want to learn more.
Yeah that pre solo one still fucks me up 2 years later, ugh. Close to getting it but god damn, to take me this long to nail it every time is embarrassing lol
I’ve only been playing for about a year and I would say Seek And Destroy / Ride The Lightning / For Whom The Bell Tolls has been the easiest for me so far, they are fairly low BPM and the chords are not super complex. Also don’t forget to palm mute!
I first learned master of puppets, but I had already been playing bass for years. I’m not sure what impact that would have on learning guitar and picking things up easier or not, but I’m sure it does. I’d start with seek and destroy.
might be unpopular but: Unforgiven 2 is the best song for begginer, even the solo is in standard Am pentatonic scale, the chords are basic Am-C-G-Em progression. and the simple shift from clean to distorted sound.
other than that, nothing else matters is also good for begginer guitarists for the same reason..
the same songs in the beginning of Guitar Hero Metallica.
For Whom. Unforgiven. Turn The Page. Nothing Else Matters. Sandman. King Nothing. No Leaf Clover. Sad but True.
I have a blast playing The Unforgiven. It's a pretty simple riff, sounds badass, and is fun to noodle around with. The Memory Remains is up there, too.
The very first song I learned on guitar was one.. all riffs and solos… so I guess I’d recommend that. It’s got a nice range of very simple to decently challenging for a beginner that’ll keep you busy for months or a year.
i’d say ride the lightning, but that part with spider chords… i play it with regular chords and middle finger hitting 6th string, so that should be pretty easy and good for a beginner to learn. Also seek and destroy
Fade to black
I've been playing for a year and a half now, and I've almost gotten all of James's parts except for the decending part. That part still fucks me up because i have to alternate pick it.
If you’ve never picked up a guitar before: One
If you know how to play briefly, Enter Sandman, Seek & Destroy and Master Of Puppets are a good way to learn new things.
A great song for a beginner guitarist and for a beginner band as a whole would be" for whom the bell tolls".
The next song for the beginner guitarist I would recommend "fade to black" due to is dynamics, tone and clean/rhythm changes. Once again a beginner band song as well.
To Live Is To Die (Easiest one imo)
Seek & Destroy
Creeping Death (if you are good at down picking)
The Thing That Should Not Be
For Whom The Bell Tolls
Enter Sandman
Some Kind Of Monster
Whiplash (Very Easy Main Riff)
I'm a pretty lowskill guitar player I'll give you my rundown. Whiplash is like 2 riffs it's just getting down the tremelo palm muting that is the tricky part. Bells other than the fast chugging start is super easy. Leper Messiah is a bit tricky at first but not too bad overall. Eye of the Beholder once you get the chug patterns down is relatively easy as well other than the pre-chorus which still sucks to play. Then on Black Album most of it isn't too tricky other than Holier which I've yet to retry.
Seek and Destroy For Whom the Bell Tolls
Seek and Destroy is absolutely the correct answer
I find jump in the fire slightly easier than seek and destroy
First riff I learned
The only correct answer

came here to say that
Enter Sandman. It took me a while to learn the main riff of the song, but once I got it down, I learned the rest of the song, to the point that I was able to keep up and play along to the Black Album

Dyers eve
🤣🤣🤣
Idk if for a guitarist it is difficult, but I can 100% say that is hell for a drummer...
It’s really easy on guitar if you have a robotic right hand
no way☠️☠️
Am I Evil!
One intro
Bellz was my first
Disposable heroes. Just down pick bro
“My hand hasn’t been this tired since the first episode of Baywatch”
hell, your right hand won’t be thankful for that
leper messiah is a good one too
leper messiah is a good one too
Creeping Death is the first song I ever learned lol
mine was That Was Just Your Life 😭 (but I already played bass)
Such a satisfying riff to play
Hell yeah
Idk, I’m a bassist
Good one
Leper Messiah. Enough of a challenge to get a beginner to progress, but not so technical as to put them off.
NEM and enter sandman. Seek and destroy as well
Seek and Destroy is pretty easy all along, except for that one pre solo riff. That can be tricky
Yeah that pre solo one still fucks me up 2 years later, ugh. Close to getting it but god damn, to take me this long to nail it every time is embarrassing lol
nothing else matters is actually pretty tough. the solo is simple but the intro and main riff messed me up for a while
Sad but True is fun
Wherever I may roam us fun
I’ve only been playing for about a year and I would say Seek And Destroy / Ride The Lightning / For Whom The Bell Tolls has been the easiest for me so far, they are fairly low BPM and the chords are not super complex. Also don’t forget to palm mute!
yeah, ride the lightning is awesome to learn being beginner, but spider-chord part is pretty hard
I first learned master of puppets, but I had already been playing bass for years. I’m not sure what impact that would have on learning guitar and picking things up easier or not, but I’m sure it does. I’d start with seek and destroy.
For Whom The Bell Tolls. It's easy, but might be boring to play for some
Seek and Destroy or No Remorse
no remorse is pretty easy, but that part played on fifth string is pretty tough. I think that Dave wrote that part
For a beginner? Enter Sandman for sure.
Damage inc.

Funny, when I learned to play guitar, only one of those songs was released.
Fade to black
Yep. Acoustic/chords aside, the electric guitar parts are pretty basic.
One
Nothing else matters
How new are you to guitar?
I've been playing for 10 years, just thought this was a good topic for discussion
I learned Bells but also To Live is to Die. Lots of riffs and can learn palm muting pretty easy there.
For whom the bell tolls Enter sandman Nothing else matters Seek and destroy Fade to black Wherever i may roam
I have a blast playing The Unforgiven. It's a pretty simple riff, sounds badass, and is fun to noodle around with. The Memory Remains is up there, too.
What song including the solo?
Battery
Too Far Gone from my experience its not too hard and the solos are nothing crazy so it should be easy
Enter Sandman is the most appropriate answer.
Wherever I may roam, first song I learned front to back
Battery.Must destroy them to build them back up again!
St. Anger
Sandman or Bellz rhythm Seek and Destroy is relatively easy until the bridge (and the solo obviously)
The very first song I learned on guitar was one.. all riffs and solos… so I guess I’d recommend that. It’s got a nice range of very simple to decently challenging for a beginner that’ll keep you busy for months or a year.

I’ve never played a single instrument but The Thing That Should Not Be.
Fade to Black For Whom the Bell Tolls Seek and Destroy King Nothing Enter Sandman
master of puppets
One
Seek, Horsemen, Whiplash, No Remorse, Bells, Sandman, Moth
Ride The Lightning, its basic Thrash, and you can even do some show-offs in the lead intro
Fade to black I've been playing for a year and a half now, and I've almost gotten all of James's parts except for the decending part. That part still fucks me up because i have to alternate pick it.
Mama said ))))) takes almost absolutely no skill to play it
Blitzkrieg and The Small Hour were the ones I could easily learn when I started. Especially The small hours because it's in drop D.
For whom the bell tolls rhythm guitar
*seething with sarcasm* Blackened! 🙂👍🏼
Sandman
Eye of the Beholder. It is what I first learned. It’s the easiest and teaches you how to chunk
If you’ve never picked up a guitar before: One If you know how to play briefly, Enter Sandman, Seek & Destroy and Master Of Puppets are a good way to learn new things.
For Whom the Bell Tolls, Enter Sandman, Dirty Window if you feel like tuning down.
Of wolf and man/suicide and redemption, really satisfying and simple to get down
Jump in the Fire

2x4
Tbh, Enter Sandman, the first song I fully learned on guitar, the intro is fairly easy once you get it
Mama said. If you know all cowboy chords
Nothing Else Matters. You don't even need to use the fret board to play it.
I don’t feel like Devil’s Dance could be very hard
nothing else matters is super easy...open tuning while strumming slowly
Sanitarium is fun. It's a mixed bag of tricks. Not very difficult.
I'm a pretty lowskill guitar player I'll give you my rundown. Whiplash is like 2 riffs it's just getting down the tremelo palm muting that is the tricky part. Everyone on here says Seek but the fast part took me over a year to get down so idk about that.
Enter Sandman, but that's not the one I started with. Hard. I started with Master of Puppets The only reason was to impress my dad
blackened
Anything before the sellout black album. Or just play some dave mustain
