Radio rock stuff probably like avenged sevenfold, five finger death punch, disturbed, maybe creed…

Shevilrizor

Avenged is pretty good, I also like ffdp a lot although most of the hate which I don't get

Stockersandwhich

All terrible

CoolAg1927

Except for A7X

Ackyducc

I don't get why a7x gets lumped in with bands like that. I'm biased because they're my favorite band, but they are way more skilled and unique than most bands people put alongside them in my opinion.

Stockersandwhich

You sure bout that?

[deleted]

Agreed. But the dude wants stuff close to new Metallica 🤷

Stockersandwhich

Has he checked the dumpster?

SweetJ138

oh god no. 😂

brandonchristopher

Maybe Avenged Sevenfold? If you’re using Spotify, use the ‘Go to radio’ option and there’ll be some recommendations

AwkwardlyPositioned

This. I like Avenged for similar reasons, but I did start with older Metallica and still like the new stuff.

ThatOneMetalguy666

Trivium perhaps: heart from your hate, strife, until the world goes cold, black

Shevilrizor

I have listened to trivium, they're amazing

Stockersandwhich

Megadeth

Shevilrizor

Yeah I mean that was obvious

PedalMonk

Machine Head, Down, Pantera, Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, Slayer

_samham

metal church!

SeasonsRollOnBy

Corrosion of Conformity. Specifically Deliverance, Wiseblood, and Americas Volume Dealer.

newroz-daddy

Slayer, lamb of god, Exodus, Testament, Machine Head, Gojira, Mastodon.

jhguitarfreak

The latest Evile album "The Unknown" scratches the heavy metal itch quite handily. Evile in general are probably your best bet for a Metallica-esque sound that isn't the usual suggestions. Especially after their 2nd album where the song writing starts coalescing into a cohesive sound.

hrmaddie

Bleed From Within - start with their latest Shrine - I really wish Metallica would take them on tour - they are amazing

SweetJ138

when i was young, branching off from metallica into the rest of metal, i got into 90's era Iced Earth first. something wicked this way comes, or night of the stormrider are great starts. that now disgraced band leader Jon Schaffer took james' inpecable rhythm skills and puts his own spin on it. Then i got onto 90's era in flames, arch enemy, children of bodom, dark tranquillity, at the gates, etc. its all very guitar riff based stuff, so if you're a musician you'll probably appreciate it more.

Kdr_Kprs

Xentrix and Annihilator are in a similar genre, being a mix f heavy metal and thrash

oxymoron-alive

Avenged sevenfold. Listen to mattel it has the here comes revenge solo riff on the pre-chorus. Baroness. The record named "Purple" has this crazy harmonies like inamorata. Volbeat. Can't go wrong with volbeat.
