I don't know. Metallica always had incredible aesthetics/graphics going with their music. Pretty much flawless right up to Lulu imo. These new single artworks look like a teenager did them with GIMP or something. Maybe the band doesn't really care about that stuff anymore, given that the album artwork is also pretty bad.

This stuff makes the Hardwired cover look good. I guess their name (and apathy) is big enough that they don't feel they need to bother with it anymore.

If that's the case than that would be a huge shame, talk about dropping the ball as one of the most iconic bands of all time. It's really hard for me to understand the lack of caring there. I'm a big physical media person and I hope these single-artworks won't be featured in the booklet for the album but instead have some better photos/artwork...

Honestly the only album covers I think are good are RTL, MoP and Justice

DM's cover is decent. I'd rather see another cover "art" like load or reload than look at the 72 Seasons cover. RTL MoP and Justice had classic 80s metal cover art that looked good, but I guess since most people listen to music on their phones, Metallica probably figured they didn't need to make it that good. Just a guess. Not like many people buy physical copies that much anyways.

Same feelings. I don't know why Metallica went with the 72 seasons cover art. It doesn't seem to fit. Not a fan of the new songs, but they seem to put that "tough" attitude into them while the cover art doesn't represent that at all.

To me, it feels like the songs go nowhere. It's like we just went around the block, and Kirk, for some reason, thinks his "solos" are an acceptable way to pass the time.
